- Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2020So in this alternate universe, shifters and humans aren't allowed to mate. Jax is an unregistered omega shifter and Hugo is a human. They've grown up together since they were small. As soon as it was known that Jax was a shifter, his family kicked him to the curb. Hugo's family wasn't supportive of shifters so Hugo and Jax escape together. They live on the streets for years together and Hugo does the best that he can to help Jax through his heats. One day they literally run onto Alpha Dominic. Jax can't stop thinking of him. Hugo is distressed and feeling that Jax will leave him for the Alpha.
Dominic felt drawn to both of them but he didn't stop to talk and wouldn't know where to find them.
All three seem to be fated but they can't be together in the U.K.
I thought this book was very clever and creative. I enjoyed the story and loved how close Hugo and Jax are. Dominic adding to the couple was just an added bonus. It was entertaining to read and wonder how they would all make it together.
I just wonder in this universe if shifters live longer than humans, will Hugo die first? Or if he is mated with Jax will he live longer? Regardless, the book was good.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 25, 2020The dynamics that the author brings up adds so much to the story and I loved it. Jax and Hugo are a shifter and human in love and it's forbidden, which could lead to prison or debt. They have been hiding and just trying to survive. Dominick is a registered shifter who's world is changed by these two guys.
Great love story with a third coming into an already established relationship. With that comes all the feels but it was great to see them worn through it. These three decide to be free and have to put it all on the line to make that happen.
Would definitely recommend this read

- Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2020This book was so good. I truly fell in love with these characters and following them on this journey to a better place/life was truly wonderful. I hope that the author will return to this world and give us more from these characters and maybe others to fall in love with.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 5, 2020According to the author’s afterwords, this is her first time writing shifter and mpreg. Well, congratulations, she was successful in creating a world where the existence of shifters has a scientific explanation, but where they, unfortunately, suffer the same prejudices that many minorities had and still have to endure in our world.
The storyline is centered around the journey of the three MCs to a place where they could be free to live and love as they please and to give in to the mate call that united them. The fact that they were always in unsettling situations, more concerned about successfully completing their journey rather than spending time in getting to know each other in a comfortable daily routine, had an impact on my evaluation of the credibility of their feelings over the simple lust due to the mate call.
Jax and Hugo are the better developed characters. Their interactions, their relationship, love and their past experiences felt so true, were so deep and heartfelt that I shed a few tears reading what they had to endure and how close their bond is. Maybe the fact that Hugo is human, downplayed the typical alpha/omega dynamic and their love was described as based on feelings and trust rather than hormones.
Dominic on the other side was more two dimensional. Except for his close relationship with his friend Alister and his sons, the story does not reveal any other significant relationships of his past or present, no family members, and even his work as a barrister is only briefly considered, mostly to show that he was a well-off shifter, and should have been the opposite of Jax and Hugo. But he seems to easily give up everything just to follow the mate call and he takes over his role as alpha with almost no second thoughts. Dominic’s character was too focused on protecting his two lovers and as a reader I had a hard time connecting to him.
Overall very enjoyable, well written and leaves me with the hope for a second book set in this world.

This was a good story and while I really enjoyed it, it was also a heavy story which I didn’t get expect. Hugo and Jax have been hiding and running for years because of all the stupid laws in regards to shifters and when they meet Dominic it makes their lives even more complicated. When they have to basically run away and Dominic inadvertently ends ups being one to help they all find the connection they need, however, it takes a long journey for them to find the freedom they need. I liked that this was an in depth story and seeing how these men navigated the situations they ended up in but it was just a more serious tone than I was expecting.
I received a copy of this book and am giving an honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2020Science rather than magic, yet with the fates in force, shifters are brought into being UK style. The story is akin to the Dickensian Oliver and Jack let loose in the countryside with the twist of a added daddy. Charming

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it
This book was amazing it was sooooo moving and the characters were all so beautiful I couldn't put it down. I loved their vulnerability and their bond to each other.
Jax and Hugo are adorable and when they meet Dominic Hugo can't help but be scared and the way that was written almost had me in tears at times. I have gone ahead and grabbed a few other books from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Book Recommend Highly 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My first Mpreg and I loved it, from start to finish got so in to it I couldn't put it down. Jax who's a Omega and such a cutie and Hugo who's human they are together fated mates living on the streets because its forbidden for them to be together there are struggling but surviving together. Until they meet Dominic who's an Alpha and realise something as been missing and he's there soulmate that they are destined to be together, but to make that happen they have to leave so they can stay together. These three what they go through to be together a scary journey not knowing what's gonna happen to them. This is Sexy Caring, and so Hot with a bit of Jealousy. If you Love Mpreg then you'll Love this Colette has done such a Brilliant job with it would have given more than 5 stars if I could. 💖💖💖💖💖

4.0 out of 5 stars Great read with a unique take on shifter history
This was a great read that had a unique and very interesting take on shifters - how they came to be, how society treated them, the mate-pull and more. I love when an author has a unique take on a common genre, so this book really got me in that respect. The characters were well developed and I loved that we got alternating POV for Hugo, Jax and Dominic. I also loved that they all had their flaws, were realistic, and held true to their personalities even as they grew as the story progressed. I did find the ending was a little rushed - we had big time jumps which meant I lost a little of their final evolution, which was a shame because the start of the book was so well paced. This is still a book I'd recommend given its unique world, and I look forward to reading more from this author.
