The short? You got it.

I write steamy gay romance books and I love it. I also love reading books. Books are everything.

How was that?

A little more detail? Gotcha.

I started writing my first stories when I was a teen…on a freaking typewriter. I still have these, and they’re adorably romantic. And bad, haha. Fear of failing kept me from following my dream to become a romance author, so you can imagine how proud and ecstatic I am that I finally overcame my fears and self doubt and did it. I adore my genre because I love writing and reading about flawed, strong men who are just a tad broken..but find their happy ever after anyway.

My favorite books to read are pretty much all MM/gay romances as long as they have a happy end. Kink is a plus… Aside from that, I also read a lot of nonfiction and not just books on writing. Popular psychology is a favorite topic of mine and so are self help and sociology.

Hobbies? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Just kidding. I love traveling, spending time near the ocean, and hiking. But I love books more.

    This is a paranormal romance with mpreg, the tenth (& final) book in the series that must be read in order! This book starts with more overlapping history, you’ll see the highlights from other books come up which I found tedious in the last book but this time there was a lot more to it. One of the things I liked best about this series is the unpredictable essence of life, death, injury and love upon all the participants. Battle happens, death, injury and sickness a natural consequence and then they learn to navigate life and love in spite of those things. It makes for a much more nuanced story experience and boy does it rial up one’s emotions! Though this story has ended, I get the idea that their lives continue on, even though we may not be there to see it! I cannot wait for the next book!!!!

    I found this series at its beginning, and each book pulled me in more and more. I love how each book was new, but the characters were not because Nora had a great way of letting you have sneak previews of each character in the previous book. So by the time you read the next book, you watched the characters overcome their individual issues while still keeping the plot on point.

    I loved how Nora kept the plot flowing over each book. To find more about the gene and why it was happening. I love the plot twist in the last book, and the way Lidon handles it. It gave you the sense of integrity Lidon stood for, but you also saw that he was still human and mistakes were still made. Although Lidon leads his own pack, he’s still aware that power belongs to everyone.

    I really enjoyed the forming of the Hightower pack. Watching the two packs come together and defend each other was amazing. They functioned separately but also as allies.

    The city reminded me of the concentration camps from history. Nora did a great job of describing the horrors of our past with the omega camps. The telling of how some Alphas getting locked up because they tried to help was a story of our past. Nora wrote this with compassion and heart, and also courage. When need to be reminded that this can happen again if we don’t keep each other in check.

    Nora did a great job in bringing the right ending in with Sando, Maz, and Lucan. This was a fantastic series and recommend it to anyone looking for a mystery. All the books earned 5 stars, and as a series it’s 5 stars!

    I've said it probably for every single book in this series, but here it is again: Nora, you are a gift to us all.

    It's not just steamy, it's not just fun and raunchy and filled to the brim with great character development. This series is so important, so precious, especially right now in this horrible intense moment we all inhabit. It's so important to remember to make room for kindness and love and loyalty and honor, to remember that no one is perfect - not even palani, as this book so artfully portrays (lucan is and has been pretty much since the start my absolute bae) - and we are all filled with constant implicit bias and shortcomings. And we should take every chance weve got to imagine a world that can be better for us all, a world in which every person challenges themselves every day to be better.

    Anyway...I'm not saying that if Nora Phoenix ever came into possession of a large plot of land that I would drop everything and join her orgy cult.........unless?

    What a beautiful ride this series was. I took it with me through some of the hardest times in my life and the purity and wholesomeness of all these wonderful characters was absolutely a guiding light in dark times. Thanks

    I tried to stop in between each book to give a review. I found that each book was so good, I had to binge the next one, and the next until all of a sudden I was at 10. I can try and describe each book but it would take awhile. What I want to say about this series is that it is not only the best series Nora has written but it is the best series with so much character development in each book that I have ever read. And I have read great literature. What completely did it for me in every book was the characters. She didn't just develop the main characters, wash her hands and call it done. No you would get introduced to a minor character or a character that doesn't seem to fit in with the picture she has painted. No worries. Hold on to your boots because you might encounter that character in the second book.
    This really was an amazing series. I like shifting and mpreg. This had both. I have read enough Shifter stories that their legends actually fit with many other authors stories of shifters. It made me start to wonder if there was a Storyteller---Grayson. And a True Alpha and a True Omega with so much power. I have always heard of powerful Alphas even Omegas but reading this series was magical. It made you believe. When Palani got sick I cried along with the rest of the pack.
    Do not read these unless you can read all 10 together at some point. Nora has created a real masterpiece here. I highly recommend this series!

    Don't get me wrong, I love the series, and I loved this book, the ending is great and I'm happy that there is more with irresistible dragons, but, and this is my second reading, there is a huge flaw in this one, am I the only one who saw it?
    OK, from now on, it's a spoiler so, if you haven't read the book yet, don't read the following.
    How can Armitage don't know that others can shift? The group was filmed and they fought soldiers at the hospital when they went there for Palani!!! The soldiers saw numerous wolves then! So how is that possible that Armitage doesn't know?

Yes, some of the reads have been much better for me than others, and Nora's usual problem with poor editing [or lack thereof] and numerous typos has persisted throughout the series BUT most of the characters were very engaging, the storylines interesting and credible as far as a fictional shifter series with pregnant Male Omegas can be 😏, and the amount of sex wasn't too overwhelming most of the time.

    I really liked this threesome Maz, Lucan and Sando who first appeared in Beta's Love, the mystery of Sando's background was finally cleared up, and most of the pack got involved in trying to bring General Armitage to justice. My main bugbear with that was that I was expecting far more resistance/violence from his troops [although to be fair, most of them seemed to be thoroughly disillusioned with everything that was going on, and some actively disagreed but could do nothing about it on their own], and things just seemed to fizzle out once everyone got a gander at Lidon and his Alpha powers. My favourite part of the story [apart from the epilogue 💜🧡💛] was baby Hakon transforming into a baby wolf *ah bless*.

    More stories about Rhene and Sivney's pack to come apparently, but not anytime soon.

    **just a sidenote. Could the model on the cover have had any more foundation troweled onto his face?? 🤨**

    I never expected to love this series so much! So many beautiful and emotional moments, but also some very sad ones. Like the previous books, this one too is well written, has great world building, and so many feelings. And even though there are so many characters and relationships, it’s not hard to follow. I’m sad that this is the last book, but hopefully we’ll get the spin off series soon.
