Giovanni's Jackpot: Vampires of the Beloved Gem Book 2 Kindle Edition
Can vampires from two separate worlds figure out how to mesh their lives together?
Giovanni Cardello loves life. He is more than content in his position as a craps dealer aboard the Beloved Gem, and his special bond with the coven master and close friends is all he needs. But mistaken identity leads to him being kidnapped, and he wonders if he’ll ever see his coven family again.Lucius Mancini is honored to be the second for the created vampire. His family line goes back to the original eight, and Lucius is proud of the life he’s lived. When the created ones are called to be part of the newly formed paranormal council, the last thing Lucius expected was to scent his beloved. But when he discovers his beloved is missing, he questions if they’ll find him alive.
When Giovanni wakes up back on the Gem, he didn’t expect the gorgeous vampire in the room to be his fated mate. Gio agrees to move to Montana with Lucius, but the council is still forming, and Giovanni doesn’t know how he fits into this world. Now an unknown presence appears near Gio on the mountain, leaving everyone to wonder what its intent is. Is it after Gio? Or does it not want the council on the mountain?
Giovanni’s Jackpot is the second book in the Vampires of the Beloved Gem series. Each book in the series focuses on a different couple, but these books should be read in order as there is an ongoing backstory, and previous couples will make appearances in future books. This is a fated mate MPREG story with plenty of sexy times. You should expect all the normal vampire shenanigans and sometimes love bites in unexpected places.

About the author

The Men of Crooked Bend Series is my first published series and those Redfeather men will always have a special place in my heart. It was incredibly difficult to let those men go. It was originally supposed to be a trilogy but it ended up as an eleven-book series. In the Men of Crooked Bend series, you get to know the cowboys and other men of Wild Creek Ranch in Crooked Bend, Wyoming (a totally fictitious town). The series is set in the foothills of the Grand Teton Mountains, a place I fell in love with as a teenager.
Sulfur Springs is a closely related spin-off series to the Men of Crooked Bend. In it you leave Wild Creek Ranch and go to the little neighbor town of Sulfur Springs and meet the sexy men of the Sulfur Springs Fire Depart, the sheriff's department, as well as quite a few US Marshals. You see some familiar faces but you also meet some very new ones. It’s a complete series and has nine books to round off that world in a twenty-book world.
I love to read, it’s always been one of my favorite things to do since I can remember. When I started writing, I couldn't decide if I wanted to write contemporary or paranormal as I love both. I chose contemporary but still, paranormal was talking to me and those darn shifters kept saying, “tell our story, it’ll be fun.” So I did. And it was. That’s how I started what’s turned into Edison’s world. lol
It starts with the bears of the Honey Creek Den series. Honey Creek is another totally fictitious town set on Flathead Lake (a real place) in Montana. I've never been there, but hope to get there at some point. Honey Creek Den is finished with the planned six books. The Timber Valley Wolf Pack is the second series in that world and is also finished with six books. After the bears and wolves, I of course needed to give you Edison and his warlocks! The Warlocks of Amherst Series takes us away from the den and pack and we get to travel to Amherst, Massachusetts for some fun. The Vampires of the Beloved Gem follow Master Nikolai and his wayward vampires as they float up and down the Mississippi River in their riverboat casino. The Paranormal Council Enforcers is where we’ve ended up, and it is my current series. We’re meeting all kinds of enforcers who are busy dealing with evil while trying to win the affections of their fated mates.
When I'm not busy drinking coffee and writing about warlocks, vampires, wolves, or dragons (to name just a few), I like to read (who doesn't?). Because of my limited free time, I’m fond of short stories and novellas. I can be found on Amazon, Book Bub, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2021I honestly thought that Gio and Lucius were a bit all over the place and I had several instances where I had to go back and reread bits to figure out where the sentence was going.
But, I am super excited to see where other things are going. Who is Nikolai’s mate? Did Atticus end up running from Brice way back in Gage’s book? I’ll have to go back and read that again to see because I remember Brice scenting his mate and everyone deducing that it had to be Atticus, but he was supposed to be human. Who are the other created ones? Why, in a world of mpreg, would Gio ponder only about Noah being Isabel’s future mate and not his own son’s mate?
- Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2021I love the stories that are played out in this author's novels, and the world building. Never a dull moment.
A few things that I don't like that are in each and every novel... 1 - the use of the word 'beloved. If there was a way I could highlight that word in each novel and delete it, I would. It is used adnaeseum - really REALLY got old fast.
2 - the sex scenes. Many many pages of repetitive sex scenes. I get that they are highly drawn to each other and sex is a way oif expressing that, but it felt like some of the sex scenes were just used as filler pages....cut and paste. It got to where I would just skim the sex scenes.
3 - one half of the couple stating 'you are my life, mine to protect and love /adore', etc.... which was really sweet and lovely the first time I read it. By the 15th time it was stated I was grinding my teeth. Every book there is one character that does that.
I truly am looking forward to the next 2 upcoming books, but really hope the author has taken out at least 3/4 of the 'beloved ' references. The dialogue is witty, and the stories are each fun to read - bring on the adventures!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2021I’m definitely enjoying the Vampires of the Beloved Gem! I love this author’s whole world of interconnected warlocks & shifters, and vampires are an excellent addition!
Giovanni has had some rough things recently and past history; Lucius is the perfect beloved to love and support him. They are also just the right amount of steamy, and bite-y, whew…!
While not a huge amount there is a bit more angst than some may expect from this world but it was perfectly done and fit the characters and setting. I’m enjoying it and the hint of continued mystery; plus…there be dragons! I also like Ambrosius a lot and will be happily awaiting not only the rest of the Gem series but looking forward to the council series. Ferguson is next and I am extra excited about getting his story.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2021Ok, so I dont write reviews usually because I sound like an idiot but I had to say something this time. I have been reading this series since the 1st book and this one is just as amazing.
Licius and Gio are a sweet couple. If you like happy hearted books you will love this. Some characters from the 1st series Honey Creek ahow up and its wonderful to see them.
While there is drama (light) and the plot moves forward, you are not left tearing your hair out. There are no "unrational" male drama. All emotions are warranted.
Plus there are some great new characters as well that I cant wait to read more of. Anyway, a solid read. Great way to escape and get lost in a book. She has done it once again
- Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2021This book picks up right about where Diego’s Heart ends, so it helps to have read that first. I really, really enjoyed this one as it’s somewhat of a crossover with the upcoming Paranormal Council series, introducing the characters and situations hopefully expanded upon there. Aside from that, I liked seeing how Giovanni adapts to his new life and how Lucius makes him a priority. There are also so many new plot threads and hints that come up along the way that I can’t wait to find out where the author spins them. I’m glad she’s returned to having situations continue among multiple books.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2022This is the second of this particular series but like the 3rd or 4th related series, they are interconnected and if you want the full picture, you’ll want to figure out the full order but you must read book 1 before this one. This series is a bit darker than the other series, which is an interesting change but not completely out of character when you are dealing with vampires. The first half of this book was harder to get through, I think it’s because the way this book starts is right off the mystery of book 1, so adventure, and wildness. Then it just feels like a bunch of stilted conversations, however, if you can just hold on, the book goes from a 2star to a 5star in a switch! There’s almost too much going on to process, but it’s worth hanging in!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2023I love the relationship between Gio and his dad. It’s the best. Lucius is completely over protective and sweet. So many things I need to know! Who is Nikolai’s beloved? What or who is the weird presence around Gio?
- Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2023Oh my goodness, my hear went out to Gio! But Mucous loved him so much and showed him in every way! Good book and I can't wait tho read the next book in the series!!

5.0 out of 5 stars So good!
I loved it 😊 I love all Taylor's shifter, warlock and vampire characters, but I adored Giovanni and Lucius 😊 Great read, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Has a HEA ending, as I would expect from Taylor's books. There's still the mystery of what's out on the mountain, I expect we'll find out in a future book 😊

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
I love the characters from this book. Gio the revelation from his past broke me. The only problem Gio and Lucias seemed to have was Lucias sometimes being to overprotective be Gio needed a man like him. If Gio had been paired with any other I truely believe they would never understand him has Gio seems to have the ability to mask all his self doubts and fears.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love and family
Awww I’m smiling so hard right now! Loved it. Loved the sparks between these two and the interaction of new friends and family all integrating into a new group. Daddies, uncles, grandparents and mysteries, plenty of action and of course love.

4.0 out of 5 stars Baby, Baby, i,d get on my knees for you.
It was a lovely story, but too much waffle and not enough action for me.
I will go to book 3 and see what happens.
