Deviant Hacker: A Dark Mafia Romance (Mafia Wars Book Nine) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 3,135 ratings

A Mafia Underboss Kidnapped Me.

The moment Declan O’Malley laid eyes on me the universe shifted. His inked muscles, seductive confidence, and bad boy vibes lured me to him. He’s twice my age. He’s experienced.

Now I’m in a dark cell. Bound. Cold. Helpless.

He’s determined to turn me into his obedient little captive until I convince him I’ve told him the truth.

The spark burns hotter, the hunger between us electric.

When he demands I call him daddy, more confusion reigns over me.

I should hate him, instead of wanting to submit.

Yet all I crave is his deviant touch.

Deviant Hacker is the ninth jaw-dropping installment of the Mafia Wars series and part of the O’Malley saga. It’s an extreme age gap, kidnapping Dark Mafia romance, interconnecting stand-alone, and guaranteed to have an HEA.

EXCERPT:
Why's a young woman like her trying to mess with the O'Malleys?
I'm so engrossed with studying her, I don't hear Nolan come in the room until he barks, "Who is that?"
My gut does a nosedive, and I spin in my chair. "I found our problem."

Raw and edgy
What I love about reading Maggie Cole’s books is the excitement I get from the blurb of the book before I start, the emotions I go through while reading and how while I am doing other things like work or watching TV, my mind is still on that book trying to figure where she is taking us and what new piece of the puzzle she will reveal and how it will be revealed. Lastly I love her books because after i finish them, they stay with me and I replay the books over in my head as if they were a movie I just watched but they also leave me wanting the next book immediately and keep my mind guessing what could possibly happen but knowing what she writes will completely blow my mind because what I come up with won’t be nearly as epic as what she does. Deviant Hacker was no exception. I couldn’t wait to read this book when I read the blurb because I knew it was going to be a little different then previous books in the series. While reading this book I just fell in love with Declan and Simona. They were raw, edgy, and had my emotions all over the place. Their relationship started out different than most but by the end of the book you could just see the love they had for each other pouring off the pages. This book is going to be on an endless loop in my head for the time being.

I'm obsessed with this series. These guys and their women are all amazing, strong, loyal people. Each book I read has me loving the characters more and more. This book is no different. I always thought Declan was the quiet one. He definitely has opinions and his own mind. When he finds who is responsible for sending those articles in, he's quite surprised to see who it is. He takes her to his house and plans to get info out of her. It's the one person he hasn't seen again since that first night but he's been looking for her every time he's at the pub. Is she out to get the O'Malley family or is she just caught up in so.egging much bigger then she can imagine? Definitely a great book. I loved reading all about Declan and Simons

Each one of these books have shown how the O'Malley and Ivanov family treats and respects others. It shows in every single book. There tons of suspense, action, drama and heat!

Have you ever just wanted to jump in a book/series and be one of the characters? I have read 9 of these mafia wars books and every time I finish one I’m in complete shock and awe at how good the story is and how the author constantly surprises me over and over. As the series moves along the books just keep getting better and better. Deviant Hacker is no exception. I had a feeling going into this one I was probably going to be surprised by Declan because you really don’t know much about him from the previous books but he snuck up on me and knocked down everything I might have thought about him.

When you start reading this book you really don’t know where it’s going to lead and I think that’s one of the most exciting things about mafia books. This one has the great elements of a mafia book but it also incorporates the writing I have grown to absolutely adore from Maggie Cole!

One of the things I have said before in a review about these books is how strong the women are, they have to go through a lot to be with the men they love and Simona is just another one of the strong females that this series has given us! She goes to hell and back and she comes out stronger than she was! I also love how all of the women embrace her and take them under their wing to let her know that they are there for her! Being with a man in the mafia isn’t always an easy thing but having these women care for her and invite her into the “fold” is amazing!

I can never truly articulate how much Maggie Cole’s writing affects me in the best way possible. She take all these little details and moments and just makes you fall in love with her writing! Mafia Wars is a series that should be embraced and loved and read! I promise if you start this series from the beginning you will not be disappointed and in this case “daddy” and “angel” might turn into your fave book couple!

I was so excited to read Delcan's story. Him being the older brother, it surprised me that he fell for a much younger girl. I felt for Simona she had such a hard childhood, but overcame it and learned she deserved being loved.

I have loved every single book in this series from the beginning with the Ivanovs. Every delicious detail. Declan has always been one of my favorites throughout and I was hoping he would get a story. This was hard to read in the beginning because every single cell in my body wanted to murder Declan for the first part of the book. I pushed through because if I had to find out what level of horrible he could achieve, I wanted the pay off of seeing Simona get her happy ever after. I hope he pays penances like Killian will with Ariana for the rest of his life to her. She deserves only the best forever, after putting her through what he did in the beginning. I personally would have probably never forgiven him. He definitely found an Angel.

Well, I don't know..on the fence here. Like the series, plan to finish it but this one just didn't do it for me. Like the author, just not this story.

Declan became a stage 5 clinger. OBSESSED with Simona. The book should've been called OBSESSED. And it just was at odds with how Declan was portrayed in the other books.

Then obviously his obsession became instalove...which is a pet peeve of mine in books.

Then there is the 22 year age gap. She's basically a child, 21/22. And he's welp...44. I breezed through the sexy times because they became too much of the "same stuff, different page," for me. The sex scenes were often. But his obsession!! with being called Daddy by the child lover was just not my scene. So...lots of sex, while being called daddy. I did a word search and 'Daddy' was used over 90 times. It just got to be too weird for me. (All of legal age in the book, not weird shiz, just not for me.)
Didn't really see character development grow into love or even chemistry. Just lust and instalove.

5.0 out of 5 stars alright but …

I really liked the story between Simona and Declan and although I found it cringeworthy sometimes that he refers to himself as Daddy in the third person I got over that as well. They were sweet and twisted and of course everything I expected from a mafia romance, but dark all over this was not. The beginning was a bit off but none of it was so dark to really be able to claim this title, at least not in my opinion, or maybe I’ve become a bit (or a lot!) desensitised.

What I really didn’t enjoy and do take this with a pinch of salt since I only read this book in the series, was the relationship between the brothers/cousins. Like seriously, do they love each other or are they just weird and each man for himself. They were disorganised, question each others loyalties, no real support or love between them, their relationships fracturing the more I read. I didn’t enjoy the other characters and it was frustrating to me at times how individualistic and selfish and hypocritical they all were. Maybe I’ve just been reading the same kind of tropes, but I thought given what they were facing and what they were trying to achieve there would be a bit more loyalty and support amongst them, as the great Irish mob family they were trying to have.
Meh, maybe it was just me but if that’s the type of family she ended up in then maybe she should reconsider (says to Simona, knowing she won’t hear it).

The smut was fun and spicy and I found it well written.
5 stars and hope someone else enjoys it more.

This story was amazing as I offered an older man, younger woman. Declan kidnapped Simona and their story begins. He even goes against Liam for her. As he discovers she is not who he is looking for, she helps trace the culprit. There is so much in this story, as always, and some loose ends get wrapped, others are just getting started. Wonderful series, can't wait for the final story 😀

More tension and desire turns this gripping series into so much more than expected . The enemies keep coming ,only the tie of the families can work to get through the darkness that threatens them . Mix that with hot tempers strong characters and sex scenes to die for ,you'll never want to put these books down. Happy reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Daddy's Hacker angel
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 11, 2022

This is another action and suspense filled story with so intense psycho moments that somehow sort themselves out. And let's just say the Chicago O'Malley clan has a few of the princesses of other psycho clans... Terirain needs his own story... maybe he could find a cat burger or lady assassin for himself or a Lady Doctor... anyways, this was another great story from the start no real overlap with other stories and it was full of action and suspense. This story has a lot more bondage, and Daddy type sexual scenes. It may border on some people's kidnapping triggers... but it is a good story if your not sensitive to kidnapping and hostage situations. I really liked it it doesn't have quite enough hacking from the Angel but what she does is good...

I'm not a fan of any character calling their partner Daddy, huge cringe and nope for me.
I enjoyed the continuing storyline and looking forward to Finn's story.
