Full of cliches and yet surprisingly emotional, this was an unexpected gem :) There's nothing new to the story of a poor orphan meeting a handsome billionaire, but the way it was told from both POVs, helped me get into their minds and understand both MCs, thus rooting for them.

If only authors like this one, did a thorough reading of their finished work, or gave it to a friend who has a least finished high school, the quality of their work would be greatly improved. I mean, all those typos and errors here were so glaring, that anyone could see them if only they'd put more time! It makes me angry that you can put so much effort and time into writing a nice book, and then hasten to publish it before you've proof-read it properly :( Unfortunately, the m-preg genre is filled with such cases, more than any other genre I've read.

Not sure why it was an m/m.

Mediocre writing paired with a beat-up plot. The whole conflict in this book is based on a weird miscommunication that should take exactly four words to clear. But Jai is too engrossed in his own misery which he clearly enjoyed and would not listen to Nick. Nick on his part has trouble explaining his engagement situation and pushing the four very important words out of his mouth: “the engagement is off”; instead Nick sounds like a broken record “it’s not what it looks like”. Meh. And more meh.

Will not recommend to anyone.

Okay, so I loved this story. A lot. Jaimie and Nickolas are two vastly different men from different worlds. Nickolas is a rich alpha from a very wealthy family, and current head of his family's corporation. His family insisted on an arranged marriage, and when this book begins he is engaged (almost in name only) to a shallow and vapid omega he doesn't even really like - who also doesn't care where Nickolas gets off or who it is with. Enter Jaimie, a young omega who has lost everyone but his aunt and is determined to succeed at his new job at - you guessed it - none other than Nickolas' company. Sparks fly immediately, and when these two ignite? Damn. Inferno.. and Nick finds himself in quite the predicament when he realizes Jai is his. Will his secret destroy what he was building with Jaimie before he gets a chance to tell him?

Guuuys. I love the kind of omega Jai is. Sure, he is innocent and naïve and a bit sheltered, but is self-aware enough to know that. He is more mature than other omegas his age and doesn't see the appeal of going wild. And yeah, he ends up hurt and feeling betrayed and blames himself, but he stands up for himself and stands his ground. I admire Jai's determination to do what is right for himself and to be respected, and that made the book that much more enjoyable for me. Another high point for me is Nick's character growth over the course of the story. It is notable and refreshing to see him become an even better alpha after finding his omega. Even when he knows he is wrong and you want to throttle him a bit, it is clear he learns from his mistakes. This relationship is not instant and set in stone right away, and it takes real work on both parts (and no instant forgiveness, either - hell yeah Jaimie, stand up for your bad omega self). Many a/b/o stories are not like this, so I found it to be refreshing. And the sex is hot, which only makes the story better.

There are a couple of what I consider very minor proofreading issues, but overall I barely noticed because I was so into the story. Definitely not enough for me to want to dock a star. I really liked some of the secondary characters too, namely Graham, Greyson, and Jaimie's aunt. I need to know what happened in Greyson's marriage, and Max already stole my heart with his Paw Patrol priorities. I hope to see stories for both Greyson and Graham in the future. Hopefully the very, very near future... ;)

Needs a good editor... missing words, wrong words, extra words and rampant misuse of commas. Also too much repetition.

Seems I'm not the target audience for Omegaverse. To me it read too much like the worst of M/F romance dynamic.

And if you're going to introduce knotting... just mentioning the word doesn't cut it.

I’ve read this author before. This is a mm non shifter mpreg romance story. Main characters are Jai an down on this luck virgin omega and rich Nickolas boss of his own company. Bad communication at the start clouds their relationship but it all gets sorted and ends with babies. Great story.

KU. 2 stars. It was hard for me to rate because it wasn’t awful, but it didn’t even feel like a 3 star read. It was short & fluffy ~ but it was incredibly repetitive for such a short book. This made the characters one dimensional. There wasn’t a lot of world building and the only things we’re told about secondary characters are just obvious set-ups for future books in the series.

Nickolas is engaged for a “marriage of convenience” and in the opening chapter the author describes the “terms” of this marriage over and over but with little difference in the explanation each time. The same with describing the fiancé, Asa. The same in describing Nik’s brother.

Then we meet the Omega, Jai (short for Jaime) and again his youth, personality, and physical description are repeated.

Then conversations between the characters were also repetitive. For example: I’m big on consent and checking in with a sexual partner. But “are you sure?” five times is neither sexy nor interesting in a story. Later Nickolas and Jai fight and it is basically the same argument and reply back and forth 6 or 7 times.

Frankly, I found myself skimming. A lot. I did manage to finish and the ending was sweet, but abrupt. I won’t be reading on.

Not bad for a fairly straightforward story about a CEO who falls for an employee. Unfortunately he had been engaged to a family friend who would provide loveless marriage. Jai is the innocent party who unwitting falls for an engaged man.

DNF’d @ 25%. [01/01/2022]
2022 is the year of DNFing, and while this writing wasn’t bad, the book wasn’t doing it for me: a weird obsession with describing how pale one MC was, some horribad editing, and just didn’t feel into it.

Mediocre. Cute and fluffy however plot was predictable. There were a few mistakes that a bit of editing could have fixed.

I really enjoyed this start to this series. I really enjoyed the characters, story telling, writing, and of course heat in the romance was great. I would definitely recommend this book, and am excited for more in the series.

A good start to a series. I just wish that a good portion of the story wasn’t based on “The Big Misunderstanding” which I hate as a premise. I got a bit frustrated with both MCs truth be told. Still they had great chemistry together which made the parts not revolving around the conflict enjoyable.

Nothing much happens

It was a quick read for being over 200 pgs. I’m not a big fan of the big misunderstanding being the only conflict. Though class status was a barrier it was easily overcome. Not enough substance to make me want to read the other books.

Differences

Jai and Nickolas are very different. Nickolas is a rich CEO alpha. Jai is an omega just beginning his career. Chance brings them together. Great romantic relationship. Great read.

The Omega!

With his Grandparents gone, he needed work. So off to the city, getting employed where his parents had worked and when they were killed in an accident the Boss paid for the Funeral.
Then one day after filing some paperwork he was told to serve coffee in the Conference room. There he saw a most amazing man who also looked at him. This MM story is sweet. Hope there's more.

Unsuitable Omega is a fun and entertaining romance by Skye Richmond.

Nick is following the path his family has arranged for him, including getting married to a "suitable" omega. His family is rich and he's expected to marry one of his own status.

But when he meets Jai, he finds himself falling for the poor omega and reevaluating his choices. Of course, Nick never reveals that he's engaged, and is having trouble finding the right time to do so. (Note - there is no cheating. Nick's engagement is to someone he doesn't like.)

The attraction between Nick and Jai is great, and their love is strong. They make a fantastic couple. They come from vastly different worlds, but they are perfect for each other. And the chemistry between the two is sizzling!

Their story will keep the readers entertained by a shallow fiancée, an intriguing plot, some steamy moments, and more. They will deal with their uncertainties, secrets, and learning to forgive. It's all beautifully developed with an excellent pace.

Unsuitable Omega is my first time reading a Skye Richmond novel, but Rheland Richmond has certainly succeeded in carrying over her fantastic writing style to this pen name. I love this story and found it to be riveting. I can't wait to see what Skye has in store for the next book.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this splendid, entertaining Mpreg romance and found the story-line & plot well-thought out & written with some interesting events. The characters are well-developed individual personalities and they react with realistic emotional feelings to the situations they find themselves in.
There is: a controlling mother, a first son & alpha under pressure (Nickolas), his independent omega brother (Graham), a pending marriage, a shallow omega fiancée (Asa), a naïve male omega (Jai aka Jaimie), twists & turns, intrigue, drama, expectations, an unexpected attraction, fantasies, secrets, intimacy, shame, embarrassment, doubts, anger, defiance, sarcasm, confusion, manipulations, discovery, deceit, betrayal, verbal conflict, devastation, heartache, a unexpected surprise, emotional turmoil, health issues, friendly advice, family confrontations, ultimatums, admittance, happiness, love, some steam & a well-earned satisfying ending.
This is the first time I’ve read a book by this author & it will definitely not be my last book so I really would recommend this Mpreg romance to people who enjoy reading this genre. I doubt that you would be disappointed in this book.

Unsuitable Omega is the first book in the Billionaire Alphas series by Skye R. Richmond. Nickolas is the eldest son of a rich family and has expectations put upon him to marry a well bred omega and have well bred children. After being unable to find an omega who is a love-match, Nickolas agrees to marry the annoying but approved Asa. But then he meets the Jsimie, an omega who is about to rock his world off its axis... especially when an unexpected pregnancy occurs. So what will be the path Nickolas chooses - love with the unsuitable omega or responsibility to his social circle?

A well told and entertaining story filled with interesting characters. It brings on some feels with its sweet moments, explosively sexy times, drama and angst, and a hard earned Happily ever after. I anxiously wait for the second book in the series.

I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

This is a fun and entertaining start to a new series. It's sweet, fast-paced, emotional and has enough angst to keep it interesting. Nickolas and Jai are amazing together and their chemistry is off the charts but they have a few obstacles in their way. Nickolas has to deal with his parent's expectations and decide what he really wants. Jai is a sweetheart who is blindsided when he finds out that Nickolas has been less then honest with him. I wish that Jai had not run away from Nickolas and that they communicated better but the ending is great. I like the secondary characters and I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Billionaire meets the omegaverse. Nickolas is a very wealthy alpha CEO who is following his family's plans for his arranged marriage despite the fact that he doesn't love the man. He's tried to find love and never did, so he will follow his fiance's arrangement for an open, loveless marriage. Then, one day at work he spies new omega employee Jai and all bets are off. The attraction is immediate and their chemistry is off the charts. What will happen when Jai becomes aware that his new love is engaged to another man? This is an entertaining, fairly low-angst read with lots of passion and a strong mating call. I want to read the next book in the series.

I absolutely loved this story!!! I sat down this morning thinking I will just read a couple of chapters then I will get dressed and tidy up, what a big mistake that was, it’s now 4 1/2 hours later and I have devoured the whole book in one sitting. It’s no secret that I love mpreg but this one has everything that I love. Jai is so lovely and independent he won my heart from the start where as Nickolas he makes me so angry I could shake him, I couldn’t blame Jai for how he reacted, Nickolas should have been so ashamed that he didn’t break it off with Asa as soon as he knew how he felt for Jai.
I would absolutely love to read Graham and Grayson’s story and I’ve got my fingers crossed that we get these books soon.

I fell in love with Jai straight away! The lonely little omega that tries to stay invisible.
But nothing could hide him from alpha Nik!

After making his intentions known, Nik goes after the pure omega while still with-holding some important information!

It was a great story about finding your soul mate, learning to trust yourself and going after your own happiness, not just doing things for the sake to please others.

These boys were beautiful together and I cannot wait to see where this series takes us ❤️❤️

4.5 stars: The temp and the CEO

I always find this millionaire trope rather farfetched, but Richmond has written an entertaining novel of non-shifter mpreg. Temp Jaimie spills coffee after encountering his mate Nickolas on his first day. Raunchy sex in the executive suite, clandestine dating, and an arranged engagement lead to angst filled days before the pregnancy is determined.
Good writing, nice character development, proof that communication is key in any relationship. The contrasting family units provide views on the human makeup.
