Publisher's summary

If there was ever a time when Jameson Grant wished he was a different sort of man, it was now. The sort of man who had it in him to accept the promise of tomorrow from a sweet woman. But he wasn’t the kind of man who liked sweet. The former SEAL didn’t like much of anything or anyone.

His past had taught him that people where liars and cheats, and his time as a Special Forces operator taught him people also killed and manipulated. So, Jameson did what he did best and walked away from the sexy blonde, with legs that were every man’s fantasy. But when she comes back in desperate need of help, he cannot turn his back on the beautiful Kennedy Lane a second time.

Kennedy Lane was in trouble, and she only knew one man who could help. But when she went in search of her childhood friend, the owner of Gemini Group, she found his sexy teammate Jameson, instead. The man was positively broody, brash, and most certainly rough around the edges, and possibly the most distrusting person she’d ever met. He was also hot, and bossy, and when he forgot to be a jerk, he was sweet.

The problem was, he wasn’t interested in her - not personally. Jameson had one mission - keep Kennedy safe - a directive he’d made crystal clear. As the pressure to sell her land increases, the team quickly realizes just how far the greedy land developer will go in his quest to steal everything Kennedy loves.

Nothing is off-limits, and no one is safe. Lines blur when Kennedy’s life is on the line and Jameson can no longer deny he’s fallen for the woman he never dared to dream existed. Now time’s running out - literally - and it’s up to Jameson to save the woman he loves.

Found family

This second Gemini Group book is perfectly titled. If anyone ever needed salvation, it's Jameson. He has so many walls built up that you'd think tearing them down would require a wrecking crew. As it turns out, Kennedy wields the wrecking ball. It just takes our grumpy hero a hot minute to figure it out. One's about as stubborn as the other, so these two have plenty of stuff to work through while also trying to keep Kennedy safe and keep her land out of the wrong hands.
There's a lot going on in this one with a lot of characters to keep track of, but once things get rolling, it's not difficult to keep track even with the fast pace of the story. Riley Edwards strikes a nice balance between romance and suspense, and there's plenty of danger to keep us on our toes. We do get more of the wit and banter between the found family of the Gemini Group. The more I learn about these guys, the more I like them.
Like the first book in the series, this one is narrated by Erin Mallon and Joe Arden, and they do just as well this time. If you've never had the pleasure of listening to either of these talents, you need to remedy that. They capture the emotion, the danger, and the romance. Joe Arden captures the many sides of Jameson from his grumpy, standoffish side to the tender, caring side we see with Kennedy. Erin Mallon gives us everything I'd expect from Kennedy. She's a strong woman who is put in a dangerous situation while also falling head over heels for Jameson, and it all comes through loud and clear.
At the end of this one, we get a little peek of what's next, and I can't wait to see what that's all about.

Enjoyable listen

I very much enjoyed this story. It's full of suspense, angst, surprises you won't see coming and all the feels. Plus you get the smoking hot chemistry between Kennedy and Jameson. I also loved all the broody alpha protectors in this one.
Joe Arden and Erin Mallon are the perfect Jameson and Kennedy. They pull you in with their voices and keep you hooked as they bring the story alive.

No sophomore slump. Great next book in the series

I tried to go into this book with an open mind, knowing I already liked the narrators and enjoyed the first book by Riley.

I was pleasantly surprised when I enjoyed this book more than the first. There was more depth to this one and I am now accustomed to her writing style, still prefer first person but live the dual narration and POV.

It is still a little difficult for me to keep all the guys straight since their names are so similar, but look forward to the rest of the series.

I like to read the series in order even if they are standalones since they defense previous story lines and the “recall” never has enough details as I like from listening to the previous books.

Kennedy and Jameson make quite the pair and compliment the rest of the characters as well. Perfect small town, ex-military romance.

Jameson's Salvation: Gemini Group, Book 2

🎧 PERFORMANCE: 5 STARS
📚 STORY: 4 STARS

PERFORMANCE REVIEW:

It took me a minute to get used to the third person / first person flip between the male and female narrators, but it was honestly just a blip in my listening experience. It’s just a factual circumstance in this audio so I thought I’d mention it. Joe and Erin are two of my favorite narrators and they worked spectacularly well in this performance! There were a few times when I had to pause and rewind to make sure *who* Joe was narrating because his voice sounded too close to that of Jameson’s, but again, s mall blip :)

STORY REVIEW:

About the story … I found it to be realistic to small-town shenanigans but there is a lot happening in this story. There are a lot of players to keep track of and there were times I was truly lost on who was who but it the grand scheme, the details (especially names) didn’t really factor into my overall understanding and enjoyment of the story as a whole.

There’s a good balance between romance and suspense in the story, but I wish the balance would have tipped more to the romance. Jameson and Kennedy both had strong independent personalities. Both were set in their ways sorta speak and when that happens, it stands to reason that there should be some apprehension or rather push from the leads, and there was, at first, and then I blinked and BAM, walls are crumbled, and everyone is good. I know that sounds vague and probably doesn’t make much sense to those who haven’t read the story, but basically, for two people who were stubborn, headstrong and thought they needed no one to get thru life, they blew that all out of the water for each other in less then a minute (figuratively speaking of course). I wasn’t comfortable with that and throw in their horrible communication skills and I was hard pressed to believe these to would be “till death do us part” … *shrug*

There is a lot to enjoy about this story. The Gemini Group and Riley Edwards are fast becoming an addiction for me, and I can’t wait to read / listen to more of their stories or any other stories Riley had penned or will pen!

Loved it!

Loved listening to Jameson’s Salvation. The narrators brought the story alive perfectly. Though I must give a warning the beginning of this book is a great fun exciting listen, then when I hit the half way mark I did not want to stop listening. That action picks up, the danger ratchets up and everything starts moving much quicker. I ate it all up and loved every second of finding excuses to keep listening. Highly recommend for all who love their suspense romantic, spicy and with a perfect HEA ending.

Enjoyable

Jamison Grant is always on the outside. He doesn’t have close friends, outside of the Gemini group, and he certainly isn’t looking for love. But when he crosses paths with Kennedy Lane everything is about to change. His one mission soon becomes keeping Kennedy safe and winning her heart.

I never knew I needed this series

I’m so in love with this series. The storylines are fantastic and once I started listening I could not stop listening. Can’t wait until I start the next book. I know all the Gemini men will find true love. We just have to figure out how.

Couldn't get enough!

I listened to the audio version of this book. The narration by Joe Arden and Erin Mallon was (of course) fantastic!

This second story in this romantic suspense series was packed full of mystery, action, danger, friendship and romance. It literally just flew by for me. Jameson is an alpha, but was learning to show his vulnerable side. Kennedy was very strong willed as well, but loved her man well. One of my favorite parts was when Jameson was basically begging Kennedy to stop trying to go against medical advice because the thought of something else going wrong with her was too much for him. I loved how she had to stop and consider his feelings and go against her own. Awesome moment!

Thanks to Valentine PR for the gifted copy. All thoughts are my own.

Highly addictive series! Love Jameson!

Wow! This series just keeps getting better and better! Jameson’s Salvation is book #2 in Gemini Group by Riley Edwards. I absolutely fell in love with the groups leader, Nixon and his lady love, McKenna in book #1. I couldn’t wait for book #2, to get to know all about Jameson. He’s the grouchy, grumpy, brash, sullen, ass, loner of this group of former Navy Seals that started the Gemini Group to use their knowledge to do various “jobs”.
This story starts with Jameson meeting Kennedy by chance when she comes looking for help dealing with a very aggressive land developer wanting to take her land. He’s been harassing her for too long and she’s swallowing her pride and is asking for help to get him off her back. They decided that Jameson would be the one of the group that would watch over her and keep her safe. Jameson’s and Kennedy’s inner dialogue at this first time meet is cute/funny/sexy. The banter between the two of them was electric!Instant chemistry. But, growly, surly Jameson fought his attraction to her because he viewed her as all “sunshine and rainbows”. He was a loner, and wanted to keep it that way. He did not trust people at all.
This book had all the delicious twists and turns, drama, steamy hot sex scenes (ummm…. HELLO chapter 11!!) Riley really knows how to write to keep you engaged and always on your toes. You become vested in all of the characters. This was one I never wanted to press pause.
Narration was performed by Erin Mallon and Joe Arden. One of my favorite narration teams! Erin was magnificent as Kennedy. She brought Kennedy’s tough as nails, I can handle anything life throws at me by myself atttude to life, but also conveyed her very vulnerable side. Of course as always, her male voices were on point!
Joe was the perfect Jameson. He brought this growly, grumpy, sexy as sin, but sometimes funny Alpha to life. Joe is obviously very good at playing the Alpha A Hole, but he did an amazing job bringing Jameson’s vulnerable side out, making it enjoyable and believable.
I really enjoyed both of their performances, and I hope this pair continues to narrate the rest of the series, bravo!
This is such a interesting, exciting, steamy book in an equally very interesting, exciting, and steamy series with sexy as sin hot Alpha hero’s. So, get on it!

Another Brilliant🎧📚🎧Listen~Gripping & Heartfelt

Move over Nixon, I have a new man in my life, and his name is Jameson and like the first book in this series, “Nixon’s Promise” Riley Edwards keeps up the same momentum and blows me away again with another amazing romantic suspense and this book is just as captivating as the first. Ms. Edwards created something very special, the Gemini Group, former navy seals who continue to work together and do what they do best, solve problems, work cases and help the good guys put the bad ones away, justice served, Seal style. Jameson Grant, the cynic and loner of the team, he does not let anyone, other than his comrades in arms, get close to him. But when Kennedy Lane walked into his life, he met his match and as much as he wanted to stay away and he tried, he could not. Kennedy is being bullied by a greedy developer to sell her family home and property to him, he is doing everything in his power to bring her to the brink of bankruptcy and will have no choice but to sell. She heard her old friend Nixon, started a company that does investigations, so she turns to him to get dirt on the person who is making her life a struggle and living hell. Nixon and his group do a lot more than simple investigations, they have some great connections and they are happy to help her. Jameson and Kennedy bonk heads right from the start, the chemistry between them is electric, the back-and-forth bickering was something else too. I loved these two together and for each other and it was great to watch the big bad alpha fall for the hardheaded, independent farm girl. This fast moving, action-packed story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, mystery, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and some steamy romance. Riley Edwards, thank you for another brilliant story and the thrilling and emotional rollercoaster ride, that scene in the car gutted me. I am looking forward to what comes next for the wonderful men of the Gemini Group.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Erin Mallon and Joe Arden continue to deliver an outstanding performance, bringing these characters and their story to life, giving each a voice that grasps their personality to a tee. They have a complete understanding of the roles they are playing and I love how they take each role, run with it and make it their own, sounding believable in every role they play. Erin Mallon plays Kennedy’s role with perfection, capturing all her sides, her strength, stubbornness and her caring side. Joe Arden’s Jameson was spot on, grumpy and all, fierce too. Both were great at performing the roles of all the secondary characters as well. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance and had you feeling every single one. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to, their narration enhances this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.
