The short? You got it.

I write steamy gay romance books and I love it. I also love reading books. Books are everything.

How was that?

A little more detail? Gotcha.

I started writing my first stories when I was a teen…on a freaking typewriter. I still have these, and they’re adorably romantic. And bad, haha. Fear of failing kept me from following my dream to become a romance author, so you can imagine how proud and ecstatic I am that I finally overcame my fears and self doubt and did it. I adore my genre because I love writing and reading about flawed, strong men who are just a tad broken..but find their happy ever after anyway.

My favorite books to read are pretty much all MM/gay romances as long as they have a happy end. Kink is a plus… Aside from that, I also read a lot of nonfiction and not just books on writing. Popular psychology is a favorite topic of mine and so are self help and sociology.

Hobbies? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Just kidding. I love traveling, spending time near the ocean, and hiking. But I love books more.

    Nora Phoenix has skyrocketed to the top 5 of my list of favorite writers. Each story presents unique characters and often those that on the surface would not be expected to pair up. I love that aspect. Coming Out On Top is a prime example of showing how age and body type are irrelevant to finding a perfect match.

    Another of the writers strengths is presenting the D/s dynamic in a thoughtful and super creative way. We get into the minds and hearts of both Dom and sub and in this story see how those roles can extend seamlessly outside of play.

    In addition to the fun storyline and the challenges the characters face in the outside world, a lot of care is given to their evolving relationship indoors. Here the author provides mismatched characteristics of the main players. A younger, smaller "twink" type struggles with actually being a Dominant. And his desire is to put the older. larger, tatted & pierced on his knees is hot as hell.

    Overall, what we get is an entertaining story, with heart and kink.

    I like the beginning, but started losing interest along the way. I dont know why. It wasn't like it was long, but I just stopped caring enough. Probably because Mac's insistence on paying the debt combined with the second town's over the top rejection. It's unrealistic for the good guy to be soooo good and the bad guys to be sooo bad.

    5 Stars! I don’t know where I learned of this book but I’m glad I did bc I loved it. I loved the instant connection between the main characters and that all conflict came from outside only.
    The sex scenes were super hot & the story was compelling. I normally don’t care for younger/smaller Dom couples but these guys were so sexy. There isn’t really any BDSM in this book other than the D/s dynamic. The single instance of bondage turns into a funny failure and then a smoking hot sex scene. I’d also turn away from a character being bullied or having any disability that made me sad but the author took great care to balance that with both guys being really strong in their own ways.
    I’m moving on to find other books by Nora Phoenix for sure

    Well, you read the description so you can't be surprised at my headline. Dom's are often written as domineering large alpha males, how refreshing to meet someone who turns that trope on it's head.

    It was great the way he kind of moved in to take care of Mac and where they ended up.

    Quentin drove from California to upstate NY to work on a study for his phd. He runs into trouble when his car dies and a blizzard is about to hit. Mac was there to help Quentin out in his time of need and offered him a place to stay. The attraction is immediate and as they start to get to know each other, they have a lot more in common then they realised. Things aren’t always easy but they just get each other and know what each other needs. It was definitely entertaining, had lots of feels and I enjoyed the storyline.

    I love age gap romances and this did not disappoint! Mac/ Augustus has a severe stutter and has also been paying the price for his father's sins for 20 years. He has been harassed and bullied his entire life. Entering the small, hateful town after his car broke down, Quentin finds the big man attractive and just his type. Now all he needs is for Augustus to be gay and submissive.
    Their relationship progresses which gives Augustus much more self respect and confidence. I really enjoyed this book.
