I really loved this book. Was it a little predictable? Yes. But it didn’t take away from the plot, at least for me, at all. I thought there was a little less suspense than I expected, but it focused more on the relationship between Cade and Peyton, which was very necessary for this plot to work.

Peyton lived a pretty difficult life. But she was determined to give her daughter everything. She depended on nobody and had no plans for that to change. Until Cade walked back into her life. There was a big miscommunication that altered both their lives, and it took some effort on Cade’s part to put the pieces together. I normally don’t like a miscommunication to take center stage, but I didn’t mind this one. It was a big deal and it wouldn’t have done the book justice for either Cade or Peyton to just get over it.

I really liked Cade’s character. He was a huge celebrity but very down to earth. He was all in with Peyton, even when he thought she ghosted him. I loved getting to see how devoted to her he really was in their time apart.

The suspense was predictable to me. I figured out pretty quickly who the stalker was. But it was still pretty intense at the end. I loved how everything played out and where this book left off, with a little tease of Boy Reilly and Girl Reilly!

This is the 7th book of the Linear Tactical series. This is a standalone book, but better enjoyed if you've read the series as Peyton and little Jess are featured throughout the series. Peyton, the single, hardworking mom who works three jobs to make sure her daughter has everything she needs. She's part of the LT family and Finn's son, Ethan, and Jess are the best of buddies. Cade, the superstar country singer, who also happens to be a multimillionaire and a silent partner in LT.

I have been waiting for Peyton's and Jess's story. Janie does not disappoint! Peyton and Cade were friends in high school, her the shy, quiet freshman; him the popular football player. He went to Nashville to pursue his country singing. He works hard and makes it, but is called home when his father passes away. He and Peyton have a wonderful night together before he leaves to go back to Nashville and she's set to go to London on a film directing full scholarship at a prestigious London school.

Things, for Peyton, don't turn out the way she dreamed and she believes that Cade has just turned his back on her and wants nothing to do with her. She's devastated. Cade feels that Peyton left for London and decided she no longer wanted anything to do with him. He's extremely hurt.

Janie is an incredible writer and the way she weaves this story is so good. The cast of characters is awesome. Peyton, Jess, Cade, Cecelia are all very believable and I felt their fear, hurt, anger, all their emotions as they worked through issues and misunderstandings. With each book in the LT series, I think it just can't get any better, then Janie shows me how wrong I am!! I love the LT world so much and each book keeps pulling me in more and more!

This passionate, heartwarming story draws out all the “feels.” Following the completion of the book I like to read an author’s acknowledgement. Ms. Crouch references a song entitled “Unbreak My Heart” and thought about Peyton and Cade’s story. There are no better words to describe the turbulent journey these two lovable characters ventured on in order to reach there ultimate goal....... a HEA!

Ms. Crouch incorporated many societal and personal issues throughout the story. The difficulties of being a young, unwed mother and the stigma it entailed, social class issues of the “haves” vs. the “have nots,” devastation of physical abuse, and alcoholism, and the less than glamorous side of fame are addressed. As if this isn’t enough, we, as readers, are also made aware of the sad fact that not all friendships are as they seem on the surface, but we are rewarded with a fact that redemption after committing a grievous act IS possible.

The storyline was well crafted, though some grammatical errors were noted, but it did not detract from a beautiful novel. I simply adore Peyton’s daughter, Jess, and her protective friend, Ethan. They can’t help but warm your heart and put a smile on your face! Another pair of kindred spirits with a story to tell in the future....... maybe?

As with each of the Linear Tactical stories, the climax always entails an adrenaline fueled course of events. This story has a surprising, unpredictable twist. Following the heightened climax comes a conclusion that rewards these two characters with a well deserved HEA!

I can’t wait for the next few books to be released. I LOVED ALL THE BOOKS in the series. Ms. Crouch writes with passion and a creative mind, rewarding readers with a quality story.

I loved this story and the love was believable. The plot was great and had a good amount of suspense. There were a couple of forgivable mistakes: Ethan didn’t have a compound fracture in the previous story, just an ordinary break; and people aren’t supposed to drool in their sleep. That’s just a bit of unfortunate grossness that some people have.
When he first met Jess, and when he told her he was her dad, the author let us down a bit. It could have been a real tear-jerker. Never mind. But still, a really good story.

Peyton and Cade share an intimate moments as youngsters and fast forward five years, Paige isn’t exactly in the position she had hoped or expected.
Cade has no idea why peyton never kept in touch after leaving their small town for film school. Little does he know the things that went on behind his back. Coming back to town opens old wounds and Cade has a lot of work to do to sift through the mess. Although a threat from his side he didn’t see coming and danger from Peytons past threaten to stop them in their tracks.

Another amazing book in the linear tactical series. I hate meddling families but am so thankful that these two managed to sort it out and go forward as a couple.
Who couldn’t love Jess I just love that girls sass. And Ethan, ever her protector.
