Fae's Claim #5

Kidnapped by the Fae

Rate this book
Lethal Dark Fae Assassin Hawke is a bloody liar...

I didn't run away from him.
I would've never run away from his massive arms, his beautiful, sculpted chest, that delicious heat of his brooding, grouchy presence. *swoon*
I escaped to get his attention.
To prove that can't control me, stalk me, yet pretend that the chemistry between us doesn't exist.
I broke away in a show of independence...
...only Hawke came after me.
No, correction: He freakin' kidnapped me because he claims that "he knows best." The hell?
He insists that it's the only way to keep me safe from the vampire-Viking alliance.
That he'll do anything to protect me. Even keep me hidden away from the world, and out of his heart and his bed, because, you know, he's too old for me? As if !
Except...he's here with me.
In this tiny house, it's just me and him, and his mouth-watering masculine scent that clings to my skin, *gulp*
Oh, and he's still in denial? What the—?
What's a girl got to do when surrounded by a 100% virile, growly, a-phahole? (especially when he makes my panties melt with a glare?) *shiver*
I set out to tempt him, show him what he's missing...
...then, he reveals his secret.
Turns out, once you catch the attention of the devil, there is no going back...

Anyone but you!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💛🖤💜💚
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌍
Character development: 😬🤭🥺🤩

The Hero: Hawke - He is an alpha in the Fae Corps and has been watching Charley for two years. Though he thinks he is too old for her even though she finally turned 18. He has been following her for the last two months since she left the Fae Corps stronghold in Singapore.

The heroine(s): Charley - She is the sister of Jess and she has had a crush on Hawke for years, and she knows how he has been watching her. But she is intent on losing her virginity whether with Hawke or someone else.

The Story: Hawke kidnaps Charley in order to save her from herself. Especially since the Fae Corps have united with Gabriel and Raphael to take down the Vampire – Viking alliance and the virgin auctions that they have been holding for years.

I have to admit all five books of this series are basically the same story told again and again. They contain dominant alpha-hole Heroes, damaged main characters, violent alpha Fae matings, and many even have the same or similar wording. I think that in nearly every book there was a point or two where someone said something along the lines of “all the pores on my skin popped” and I remember thinking every time, what the heck does that mean? And the word “turgid” was used far too often.

Each of the books, had a Hero who wants his heroine more than anything and gets all alpha possessive, but still doesn’t want to be tied down or has reasons he thinks he can’t be with the heroine long term. In this case he is fifteen years older than her and thinks he is too old for her and would be too rough for her.

The narration was great and I did like the romance between Charley and Hawke. Charley was spunky and turned the tables on Hawke more than once.

I Just Might Be Falling In Love With Hawk!
“Kidnapped by the Fae” is Hawk and Charley’s story, and it is everything that you hoped for and expected. Hawk is humorously still in denial about his feelings for Charley, while ignoring the fact that she may be his mate and that she wants him. Hawk’s mind is not in the game in his hunt for Dimitri. “Kidnapped has unexpected twists, violence, danger, intrigue, drama and surprising truths are revealed. Hawk and Charley’s explosive and intensely hot chemistry will leave you breathless and feeling the love until Hawk opens his mouth!! “Kidnapped” is the most exciting tale of the series and is “Not to be Missed”! “Kidnapped” is my favorite of the series and I highly recommend it. 8 Stars for sure!!!

Here's a sneaky excerpt-

"You can start by getting me a free drink." I snicker.

"She’s had enough."

What the—? I whip my head around. Dark eyes blaze at me. Mean, selfish, the depths are like black holes. So bottomless, they’d suck me in, never let me go. I jerk back. My butt slides off the barstool. Oh! Bugger!

I fling out an arm, looking for something to hold on to. He swoops down, and I flinch, squeeze my eyes shut.

Hard fingers encircle my wrist, then I am pulled up onto the stool. I keep my eyes closed, shut out the sight of him. I’m not actually here. Not here,. I mumble. Old habits. Someone—my Ma, maybe, when she was coherent?—had told me that if I retreated to a space deep inside and wished hard enough, things would get better.

"You’re a mess."

That familiar gravelly voice slides down my spine. Goosebumps pop on my skin. Heat flushes my face, radiates out from where he has a hold of me. I yank at the restraint and his grasp tightens. His fingers dig into my skin. Bet I’ll be wearing marks tomorrow. "Let me go."

"Make me."

"Hey... She said to release her." The man on the next stool rises to his feet. He's at least six feet, bearded, tattooed, and with a jacket that proclaims him to be a biker. Hawke towers above him by at least a head.

"Leave." His voice lowers to a hush.

The other man retreats so fast his stool clatters to the floor.

Shit, why do I find that so hot?

The biker guy slinks away. Of course. No one can stand up to Hawke. That won't stop me. I am not going to give in to his dominance. Not without a fight. I grit my teeth, tug at my arm. His hold doesn’t give a millimeter.

I open my mouth to tell him off. He clicks his tongue.

I stare. "You didn’t actually do that?"

He tilts his head and smirks. My breath catches. My nerve endings seem to fire all at once. I stare at that thin upper lip—so mean, so stern. A complete contrast to the fullness of that luscious lower one. I gulp. "What are you doing here?"

"That doesn’t matter."

I purse my lips, "I see you have been brushing up on your communication skills?"

His chest swells and swells. Whoa. Has he been working out?

He's bigger, taller, meaner, broader than I remember him. W-a-ay more sexy than I'd imagined him in my dreams. The reality of his dominance pounds every single X-rated thought I've had about him into insignificance. I gulp. My scalp tingles.

He leans in close enough that I can decipher the network of lines that fan out from his eyes and every individual hair that adorns his whiskered sexy-as-hell chin. The soft skin of my inner thigh itches. How would it feel to have that rough visage on my most sensitive flesh? Goosebumps rise on my skin.

He snaps his teeth and I jump.

"Let go of me."

"Lesson number one: always speak the truth."

"You've effing lost it." I set my jaw, pull at his hold.

He grips the barstool I am seated on and yanks it in his direction.

"What the—?"

I loved this series . Paranormal romance used to be my favorite genre to read , but I don’t read jt nearly as often anymore .
I love these alpha males and the novelty of their unique love relationships.
Vampires will always be my favorite, but Fae come been close !
This was such a long angsty slow burn between Hawk and Charley , but I loved every second !

I edited this book. There were certain things about it that I didn’t like, but that’s more about the content than the writing. The writing is compelling and engaging. The characters, though vastly different from me in experiences and in preferences, are relatable in ways that are surprising. By the end, I really liked Hawke and appreciated his gooey center. I also understood, in a way I don’t think I had previously, the inherent need in the Fae to experience violence as a psychological aspect of sexual stimulation. Seeing the characters in this world as not-quite human (though Charley is half human), made it easier for me to accept that these inclinations are an inherent part of who they are as a species. They don’t feel pain in the same way that I would, making it possible for me to ignore the “pain” as it is described because it’s not interpreted in the same way by the characters.

The psychological damage experienced by both Hawke and Charley in their formative years serves as a bond that makes them uniquely qualified to understand one another. Action sequences are described using powerful action verbs that draw the reader in, painting a vivid picture of encounters, especially with the villain, Dimitri. The final battle with Dimitri is exciting and easy to visualize. It’s always satisfying to see a recurring villain soundly defeated, or should I say, annihilated.

I enjoyed the clever banter between Charley and Hawke, mostly because her insults are so amusing. The fact that some of the Fae Corps also insult him in similar fashion added to my entertainment. There’s a certain dry humor that underlies every bit of dialogue, and I love that. The book is told from alternating POVs of Charley and Hawke, in present-tense, which adds to the urgency of the moments presented in each scene. I’m told this is the final story of the Fae Corps, but I can see some kind of story about Rafael coming at a later date. We’ll have to wait and see.

High octane reading!
If you think Book 5 and the grande finale in Laxmi's Fae Claim series slows down , you are gravely mistaken!
It's so fast paced, full of action and extremely steamy, more than ever!
Hawke, the lethal Fae assassin and Charley, the young dragon shifter are equally matched in stubbornness and deny their attraction to each other and them being mates.
Hawke more so as he thinks he's too old for Charley, but it's their age gap that makes them so perfect
for each other.
Both are equally damaged through past trauma and we also find out more of who is behind it and how they overcome all the obstacles.
Kidnapped by the Fae continues where the previous book left off and be ready for anything you never imagined possible!
A fantastic read with an end that ties up all loose ends. We find out what makes the Fae Corp so strong and why they are such a close knit family.

After what both had been through, trust and commitment weren’t part of them. Unable to control his need to protect and feel close to Charley, Hawke was fighting what he thought were dark feelings and emotions. Charley was tired of Hawke’s denial and was decided to force his hand but holding control over her life. Difficult thing because Hawke was too intense and possessive and with the enemy ready to strike back, they needed to accept their bond to survive. Suspense, strong issues, intense scenes, intriguing characters, secrets, violence and lot of heated passion.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this extraordinary dark fae romance & it covers the volatile age-gap relationship between a feisty younger half human/dragon shifter female (Charlotte aka Charley aka Ember) & a domineering older alpha male fae (Hawke) naturally there is a baddie (a dark fae, Dimitri) just to make their lives a little more interesting. The storyline is excellent with an intriguing, well-written plot that has suspenseful well-described scenes. The main characters are well-developed with complex personalities & have realistic flaws & personal dark issues. I was fascinated by their influences on each other as they continued to develop throughout the story-line. There is outstanding support from the secondary characters.
There is: adventure, action, friendship, a Fae Corps, mates, twists & turns, intrigue, drama, suspense, ultimatums, memories, life-threatening incidents, disagreements, denial, abduction, threats, danger, conflict, violence, retaliation, manipulations, vulnerability, defiance, confrontations, devious plans, battles, surprises, steamy scenes, contentment, love & a hard-earned satisfying conclusion. I look forward to future novels from this talented author & would recommend this book.

Lax did an amazing job once again. This book takes the cake. We have watched the two characters through several books now.

Charlie we met her when she was about 15 years old. She is now 18 coming of age and coming into her own as a shifter. Can she have her cake and eat it too?

Hawke we get a deeper look into Hawke and find some surprising thruths come to light as his memories reawaken. Brought on by the stress of his latest experience with Charlie. Will he still be able to keep his distance and protect her all the same?

Dimitri is on the prowl again what does he have in mind for the Fae Corps and do Charlie and Hawke fit into those plans? If so just how would that work out for an angsty teen with trust issues and an alpha-hole Fae male seemingly obsessed with her who does not believe in anything but scratching an itch.

A must read and recommend worth every start accredited to it an then some. See how this story unfolds. Read "Kidnapped by the Fae".

Kidnapped by the Fae: Paranormal Dark Fae Romance (Fae's Claim Book 5) is told in dual pov of Charley and Hawke. This is the final Fae Corps book in the series and it sure ends with a succulently sweet ride.

I loved it from the beginning to the very end. Witty banter between Charley and Hawke kept me laughing. Charley is a fun and sassy character. Raw, visceral emotions between the two main characters envelop your mind. The carnal moments between Charley and Hawke are sensual. Being both have suffered in the past some psychological trauma, these two bonded together in a way that they can understand each other.

We get a vivid, descriptive pictures with strong actions that incarnate the final battle and quell it out. Supporting characters bring more to the romance.

The ending is the feather in one's cap.

So good! I think this may be my favorite book yet by Laxmi... not to be disloyal to any of the other books mind you. Hawke and Charley's story was spread over 54 very quick chapters. And they hit the ground running starting with Chapter 1. I read this in a day, but I had a serious case of "and then what happened???"

It was sweet to see how they both struggled with the ghosts (and sometimes living villains) from their past and finally were able to come together.

And FINALLY Dimitri gets what's coming to him! Woot woot!

I also really enjoyed seeing other characters come pop by giving us a chance to see how they are and what they've been up to.

I saw somewhere that this is the final book... the finale of the "Claimed by the Fae" series, but she just teased us with a possible HEA for Rafael... please please please please... inquiring minds have to read...

So satisfying it will leave you in afterglow.

Kami Harrington has written and amazing Fae series. Each book is outstanding and binge worthy. Kidnapped by the Fae centers on Charlie and Hawke, two very complex even damaged, meant to be mates. These characters are brought into previous books in the series so I've been impatiently waiting for their story. It was worth the wait. Laxmi really delves deeply into characters emotions and needs with freeing absolution to bring them into a healthy mating that fulfills the characters needs. I find her characters very real and deep and always feel I have a healthier understanding of myself and my own unspoken desires and needs after reading one of her books. She's a great writer and always writes amazing steamy coupling scenes. Seriously great !

The last book in the series goes out with a bang. Charley and Hawke both want and deny the need for each other. They each have dark issues from their past that needs dealing with and it is part of the reason they both feel as if they are not deserving. The dark fae is again causing havoc and tries to destroy Hawke along with others. The relationship between Hawke and Charley is explosive and it is what they each need. Enjoyed the book and sorry to see the series end. It is a great book and worth reading.

What a fine addition to a great series! I love the interconnected nature of these stories and I think this is an epic conclusion. Hawke and Charley are perfect for each other, but only one of them seems willing to acknowledge that at first. It takes some time and effort from both of them, along with the threat of imminent destruction that’s become an occupational hazard for the Fae Corps members before they’re both on the same page at the same time. I appreciate all the growth from both characters and how they manage to overcome their troubled and traumatic pasts to fully embrace and love each other, flaws and all. As always, Lax has outdone herself. Well done!

“If you’re by my side, the darkest horrors turn to sweet nightmares.”
~~~
This is Hawke and Charlie’s story. And, oh, what a ride!
Hawke is domineering, possessive, rude, obnoxious, angry, egotistical. But he’s also caring and protective. Charlie is strong, feisty, stubborn and determined.
Both of them have a dark past, filled with pain and horrors. And both of them need each other to overcome their past nightmares. Their relationship is explosive and scorching hot.
The story is fast-paced, filled with a lot of action, drama, suspense, danger, violence and so much steam.
It’s a great finale to this awesome series!
My whole heart and soul loved this book. The Finale of the Fae's Claim series. Hawke and Charley is explosive! Her sass is exactly what Hawke wants and needs even though he denies his feelings for her. I am still tingling all over...Hawke is one Bad ass Alphahole Fae. I loved how everyone played a part in getting him to realise Charley is the one for him. They both needed each other to overcome their past and end the terror of the Dark Fae. A beautiful ending to this series and hopefully we'll get a spin off to see what happens to Rafael and Lauren.
I really enjoyed Hawke and Charley's story. It was well-written with interesting characters and an entertaining storyline. Charley and Hawke were both damaged, complex characters. These two had plenty of chemistry and an intense sexual attraction. The story had twists/turns, intrigue, drama, suspense, action, danger, violence, conflict, denial, abduction, desire, passion and steam. If you like paranormal romance you will enjoy this book.
Not What I expected
I wanted to read this book so badly and when I finally got my audible copy it wasn't what I expected. Yes, the hate-love dance of Hawke and Charlie was entertaining the first 20 chapters but after that I was just listening to finish, not because I enjoyed it. I never could bond emotionally with the characters (don't know why because I loved Dante and Gabriel's stories). Also, it didn't help that when all the male fae the narrator couldn't make a different voice for every character; which made following the speaker of each dialogue difficult.
Intense
If I could have given it a higher rating I would have. Hawke is too hot for his own good. Charley is stronger than anyone thought. She might be a lot younger in age, but she is emotionally older. There's so much I can say but I don't want to give anything away. Doc is still my favorite but Hawke is definitely a very close second. If you haven't read this series you need to. It is one of the best, most heated I've ever read.
Magical
I found this book totally engrossing and read it all in one afternoon. This series just gets better with every book, in my opinion! The writing style is beautiful and so poetic, I found myself wanting to stop and reread passages, just to enjoy them again. The story is heart-wrenchingly emotional, but ultimately uplifting as the characters come to terms with childhood traumas and together learn how to overcome them together.
I love this book and series so much. These two characters could drive anyone crazy. I’m not sure even they know what they really want. Charley and Hawke both have attitudes. Charley is full of sass but hides pain behind her attitude. Hawke is an alphahole and loves being one. He has his own pains and because of them believes he is undeserving of anything good. Put them together and the world just may explode. Plenty of hotness with these two.
Good reads needs a negative rating option because WTF? This book is horrendous and I would not recommend it to anybody. The only reason I even finished it was because I needed it for a challenge but like please stay away from it.
I mean she r*pes him. Although he tells her multiple times that he didn’t want to sleep with her; she waited for him to be unconscious and then ties him up. WTFFFFFF
Looks like it’s the end for me with this series. What a great story with these two characters. Charlie and Hawke are made for each other. Getting there is half the battle which happens to be a thing for them. If you get the opportunity read the series.
