I liked this book because it deals with inter-racial relationships. A Caucasian American man fell in love with a Barbadian woman. They had a daughter. After them mother died the father took responsibility of the child and took her to America. Her step-mother is like many and was prejudice of the girl who grew into a beautiful woman. The step-mother felt if her two daughters were seen with Veronique that it would shame them and lessen the chances of her two daughters finding a match. I despise the fact that her father allowed his wife to keep Veronique from attending any balls or social activities. But in the end Veronique met Miles, Lord Worthing who was a Baron. They had much in common and I was glad that in the end they fell in love. Reasons I enjoyed this book: Entertaining Funny Great world building Romantic Unpredictable
