Overview

Provided magical powers via a wish from a jinn, Henry Tsien is thrown into a hidden supernatural world with only his wits, knowledge of RPG tropes and a cobbled together 'Leveling' system of magic instruction. Henry has found an ally in Alexa Dumough, the Knight Templar Initiate and managed to push back the shadowy, supernatural organisations who desire his wishing ring.

But Henry and Alexa's alliance is threatened when Alexa is forced to take the Knights Templar’s test to become a Squire. Together, the pair must face numerous trials that will test their patience, skills and magic. All the while, Alexa must consider if becoming a Squire for the Knights Templars is truly what she wishes.

The Hidden Wishes series is an urban fantasy GameLit series with a game-like user interface, magic, the supernatural, kickass women and shadowy supernatural organisations. No harems involved.

About the Author

Tao Wong is a Canadian self-published author based in the Yukon. Yes, that Yukon. As a reader, he's an avid fan of science fiction and fantasy, having cut my teeth decades ago on Dragonlance, Terry Brooks and Asimov before graduating to Jordan, Gaiman, Bujold and more. When he's not writing and working, he's practicing martial arts, reading (even more!) and taking care of his family. Other hobbies include occasional RPGs and board games as well as picking up new, random skillsets. Tao became a full-time author in 2019 and is now a member of SF Canada, the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) and ALLI.
