My review today is on the Christian Romantic Suspense, One Man's Haven. This is the first book in The Protector Series. I was sent this book to read. I have never read any of Laura's books before but I have to tell you that I really liked this story. It's well written and full of twists and turns. I'm sure you will love it.
Sharla and her fiance Randy had just attended her parents funeral. Sharla believes they were murdered and is going to find proof. They were about to go shopping when Randy is shot and dies in her arms. A stranger steps up and helps her. He takes her to her sister. How did he know where she lives? As her life goes totally out of control this man becomes her rock. Her protector but so much more. She looses her job, her home burns down and through it all this man helps her. He tells her his employer is paying all the bills as he gets her a fancy hotel room, new clothes and anything she wants.
Dorian Whitman is hired to watch Sharla. He blows his cover when there are shots fired. His boss seems to change his rules at the drop of a hat. What does he want from the beautiful Sharla? Dorian struggles against the attraction he feels for her. Dorian has never prayed so hard in his life as he has over Sharla. She seems to have lost her faith and is being led astray by his boss. How can he protect her?

This is a romantic suspense that is clean. The hero relies on God's direction in his life, and he tries to point the heroine back to her faith, so that is good. But overall it is a very strange book that is hard to read and enjoy. The mystery is not really solved, and it just leaves a lot of unanswered questions. I am assuming that the next book continues the storyline, but I do not plan to read it. I probably will not read more from this author and am sorry that I spent so much time on this one.

One Man's Haven is the first book in The Protector Series. I loved this Christian romantic suspense novel. The characters are well developed and intriguing. The storyline is well written and engaging, holding my interest as I kept reading to find out who the billionaire was and why he hired Dorian to protect Sharla. With danger, drama, suspense, and romance, this is a terrific story and I cannot wait for the next one in this series.

A New Sries
This is a new series and to me a new author. I don’t usually read suspense books , but I’m glad I picked this one. Sharla has had more than her share of tragedy and is only too happy to allow someone else shower her with luxury in hotel, clothes, jewelry and everything else she desires. But at what cost? Nothing is free. Can she trust Dorian to keep her safe as she tries to start a new life. I’m looking forward to book two.

The Heart of the Matter
An outstanding story about incredible loss, grief, and love. But also a story about the heart of a godly man in addition to the heart and mind of one who is both greedy and without scruples. It is a story difficult to put down. When it ends, you want it to continue! An excellent plot.

This was a different sort of romantic suspense. It was a unique situation for a bodyguard theme. Strong characters and a bit of a dark thread though out from murder to depression. There was a really strong faith element, which was a majorly redeeming part of the book. I just can’t quite put my finger on what has me unsettled. This is a cliffhanger book.

Oh my! This is a fabulous book. It grabbed my attention and was intriguing. It is a Christian romance with mystery and drama and the characters have so much depth and emotion. This is definitely a must read!

This is a well written book that is full of action, adventure, suspense and romance. It will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. If you like a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, grab this book!

Very interesting book. I loved the story and plot. Contains a valuable life lesson within.

Extremely slow moving and confusing. Unrealistic and dragged on. I borrowed all three but returned them all. Didn’t like the series.
