This was a little deeper than the average Christian romance. When the book started, I had difficulty relating to the characters, but as it went on they became more likable and relatable. This book delved into issues with drinking, grief, workaholic behavior, webs of lies, charity, and more. It isn't a light read.
Although there was a HEA, I was slightly disturbed by the way it came about. I won't specify why it bothered me since I don't want to include a spoiler.
I have mixed feelings about this book. It seems there is a lot of assumptions and stereotyping, especially about men and women "competeing" in the corporate world. I'm not sure I liked either of the main characters. The story was engaging and kept me interested, but I couldn't really identify with the characters. There were so many assumptions on both parts with very little true communication.
This is the first book I've read by Laura ann's I can't say I'm anxious to read anything else by her. The basic outline was ok, but the execution was not. He's an alcoholic, she's a workaholic. They both have serious issues that they magically don't have to deal with. The book was dry, lacking passion abes character depth.
This book is absolutely amazing, it’s one of the best books that I have ever read. It is the second book that I have read from this author and now I am getting ready to order two more. I love this author. This book shows how some people react to grief and how when they come out of their grief with God’s help they come out stronger. Great job by Laura Domino.

I kept wondering how this was all going to work out. No worries; it did! I like the idea of comfort groups and doing a good deed every day. Some great truths were woven into the story without being preachy. (I don’t mind preachy, but some readers do, according to other book reviews I have read.)
Amicable tones in the entire story, making the ease when times were tough. The coworker was puzzling, yet the point to that position was to sort a challenge.
