This book is not what I expected, but it really grew on me. While it is a clean Christian romance, it doesn’t feel like a typical romance story. It’s more of a relationship novel meets romance story, with prayer and godly wisdom woven in. The story meanders through the relationship issues, more like watching a reality show. But the characters got under my skin, and I wanted to keep reading to find out how they were going to work through their issues - not only between the heroine and hero but also with several other characters.

I was drawn to the book because of how well the first sample chapter showed the point-of-view character’s feeling of being new in a group and sticking out like a sore thumb. It was a compelling and unique way to begin a story. The author captured those emotions well and drew me in.

The setting was interesting - a rebuilding ministry working on repairing houses. Having volunteered and chaperoned on several similar missions, I found this interesting and could relate to how things go wrong and personalities clash in the midst of difficult work. Truly a situation that brings issues to the surface and gives opportunity for growth. There’s an underlying mystery woven into the story as well, along with all the challenges, natural and human, that come with rebuilding. It was enough to keep me engaged with the story.

I had to read it in bits of free time, but I always looked forward to finding out the latest that was happening with the characters and found myself missing them when the story ended. I’m looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

If you’re looking for a typical, light romance story, this is not it. If you’re interested in how humans interact and grow relationally through challenges and conflict by seeking God and just showing up and trying, that is what you’ll get here.

getting over their damage to find happiness with someone new

most people want to fall in love, even if there is a lot of damage in their past, they want to love and be loved... but that damage always seems to get in the way, or try to at least. False accusations and past hurts get in the way, but things are worked out in the end.

I loved the story lines in this book. Beginning with a new person in town, volunteers working on renovating homes for people that can't afford it themselves, hurt and grief over past hurts - so much that has to be forgiven and forgotten. This third book of the series is a wonderful look at Christians that forget sometimes that God is the most important thing in their life. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This book is a sweet Christian romance. It is the third and final book in the Fulton Ridge series. I really enjoyed this entire series. This book tells the story of Elizabeth and Donovan, Paige and Colby, all of whom are working with a volunteer ministry which renovates houses for people in need. Misunderstandings and past hurts crop up and each character must work through them. If you enjoy Christian contemporary romance, I think you will like this book and the other books in the series.

Donovan is not ready for a relationship after the disastrous way the last ones have ended. Elizabeth is new to town and wants friends.
Can false accusations keep them apart?
It's a clean Christian romance with good characters.

To me, the relationship between Elizabeth and Donovan moved pretty quickly for being Christians, but as the book progressed it all balanced out.
It's a pretty good book!
I like that it points to God directing those who followed Him, and it had an older woman who is close to God and is guided by Him to help the younger folks keep focused.

Much to do about very little. A ministry for church brings a group of people together.
Each with their own agenda and faults. Can they see past the beam in their eye?
Apparently....as it has a happy ending

The Renovation is a fabulously written Christian romance. It is impossible to put down with the twists throughout. The characters experience realistic issues and I particularly appreciate how the author use biblically based advice.
I received an ARC and have chosen to give my honest opinion.
