Xavier Blackwood is the man every girl at my college dreams about at night, myself included, but I'd never let anyone know that.

Standing at 6'8 with steel grey eyes, he's a walking dream, but he's also a world-renowned jerk.

Who would have thought that one night, after dragging myself home after doing double shifts at the diner, I'd be jumped by three men...only to have Xavier come to my rescue.

Oh yes, Xavier bloody Blackwood saved my life...but the thing I saw, the CREATURE that ripped those men to shreds wasn't the Xavier everyone knows.

He wasn't human...

He was a wolf, a demon, a creature from myths, and it was the most amazing thing I've ever seen until he attacked me too and knocked me out.

Humans that learn about the existence of werewolves have to die.

...There are NO exceptions.

The Werewolf Xavier saved me, but now I am condemned to death

To make things worse, both Xavier and Axel claim I am their mate

...this can't be good.

This book should have had a “Young Adult” warning, because I wouldn’t have picked it up if I knew that from the start.

I didn’t like the used language, maybe I am too old. But calling my best friend “bitch” as her pet name just sounds silly to me, without any incident prompting it.
What kind of writing style is that to put statements in brackets?
There is no calmness in the writing.
We start with her first day at school, to suddenly find ourselves in the middle of the library days later, to suddenly jump to her work at the diner weeks later.
The day to day life is simply missing, jumping from one incident to the next, only deemed worthy mentioning because it involves a man, the man.
And with neglecting that we don’t get to really know the main female character, it remains very superficial.
And that also is shown by her impulsive behaviour even the character is surprised by.

Silly sentences like these flood the book:

...” I wasn’t a morning person. To get myself out of bed, all I need is to see the sky. “...

The grammar is a catastrophe. At times it is so bad it even interrupts the reading flow.

I don’t like books were characters constantly defend their actions and behaviour. I don’t view books highly where characters constantly point out what “normal” people would do.
If you have so much time thinking about what should have been, the situation can’t be that dire nor is it authentic at all.
Which brings me to her thought process, which is erratic and coupled by the chaotic writing it is not very entertaining to read.

This is really not worthy to read any further, I am sorry.
But I am going to cut this book short, prompted by the following conversation the two characters just presented:

He: “Any human who learns about werewolves has to die.”

She: “... And now you’re saying something like that so casually, as if you weren’t the one who chose to reveal yourself to me?”

He: “You humans are all ungrateful. You’re ungrateful. I saved you from being raped and murdered, but yes, that was my mistake.”

ME: “How does this make any sense to a normal person, the author Insists on comparing everything to? Is this a trick? Are we back in Kindergarten? (Sigh)”

After the mixed reviews for this book I decided to skip it and read the Bloodmoon Wars instead. After the bumpy start I enjoyed it which brought me back to Luna Rising.
The books are short and on KU so I figured why not?

I had the same problems here that I had with Elinor in The Awakening. Ruby was annoying and very immature at times. But Elinor grew on me so I’m hoping Ruby does too.

The story was enough to keep my interest so fingers crossed I’m going in.

“It’s been years since a human was condemned to death because they’ve learned of our secret. My father isn’t going to be pleased that his son, a pure blood and Alpha-to-be for our pack, lost his cool. Now a smart-mouthed human girl who was just in the wrong place at the wrong time would have to die.” - Xavier

Ruby Saunders is a law major who has recently arrived in town on a scholarship. While working part time in a diner one day, she’s unnerved when she finds herself under the scrutiny of a pair of obsidian eyes and is surprised by the level of hostility aimed at her by the stranger who turns out to be Xavier Blackwood, the son of business mogul and millionaire, Mathieu Blackwood.

Later that evening she’s attacked by three men outside the diner but is luckily rescued by Xavier - although not before Ruby sees him transform into a wolf and tear the culprits apart.

An unconscious Ruby later comes to and finds herself a prisoner of the Alpha of the Blackmoon Pack, who happens to be none other than Xavier’s father, Mathieu. Attempts to alter her memory by an Enchanted named Natalie, fail due to a barrier in Ruby’s mind that she’s unable to penetrate. Natalie is also puzzled by the rare white aura surrounding Ruby which suggests she is possibly a supernatural herself.

Ruby discovers that not only are werewolves and other supernaturals real, but that any human who discovers their existence must be put to death. On learning Xavier’s reasons for saving Ruby - she’s his true mate - Mathieu decides to take a chance and trust Ruby. He’ll allow her to go to college and work at the diner under the condition that she stays with the Pack and keeps their existence a secret from the human world.

Matters take a complicated turn however when Axel Grimmwolf, the next alpha in line of a rival pack declares that Ruby is his mate too and when Ruby is later abducted, Xavier and his Pack desperately try to ascertain her whereabouts.

Meanwhile Natalie looks to Adolfa, (an old and powerful Enchanted) for answers relating to Ruby. Who and what is she and why has the goddess seen fit to have a human mated to two wolves?

Luna Rising is the first instalment of the Luna Rising series and was my first introduction to the author. From the offset I found myself completely immersed in the premise of the story about a woman who is rescued from 3 assailants intent on raping her, only to be rescued by a wolf shifter who turns out to be her mate. Complications arise when a alpha to be from a rival pack also claims to be her mate.

Told from three perspectives; Ruby, Xavier and Natalie’s, the book briefly introduces us to the characters and lays the foundation of her world building. Ruby is a snarky, appealing and relatable antagonist who readers will instantly identify with. Xavier and Natalie are equally likeable and it’s clear that the Blackmoon Pack are honourable and fiercely loyal to each other. In contrast however, their rival pack hate humans and while Xavier is like daylight, Axel is darkness personified.

The world building was fascinating. Humans, wolves and other supernaturals once coexisted side by side. Werewolves protected the humans until complications arose after a human girl fell in love with a wolf. War broke out which resulted in heavy casualties on both sides and wolves have since stayed hidden in order to stay alive ever since. Packs are ruled by an alpha and are overseen by the Council who keeps everyone in check. All packs have one Enchanted, some more powerful than others. Wolves can change at will but can’t transform during a full moon. Pregnant women give birth during this time. Pups born under a full moon are born in human form. A pup born outside of these three days can kill the mother as they are born as real pups.

All in all this was a well executed, fast paced debut in what looks to be a promising series. The cliffhanger has ensured that I’ll be looking out for the sequel, Luna Captured.

I received an advanced free audible copy of Luna Rising which was narrated by Meg Price. I was impressed with her clear, concise delivery which made it easy to differentiate between the characters.

Nope. Just nope.

I knew from the beginning when it’s her first day of college and she is talking to another girl in the Library and she says her major is Law and then the girl she’s talking to says, “where is your first class?” And the MC replies, “ In the Law Building”.
A freshman.
On her first day.
Her first class.
Seriously?

The writing was all over the place. Time pacing was inconsistent and the overall plot was just too immature.

I gave it 30 more pages and it didn’t get better.

I’m out.

Interesting but I had no idea they were all novellas... i like the characters but they're all so short it will probably take the entire series for actual depth to happen. Makes me wonder why they all weren't just published as a book.

There is something about the story I like somewhat, but it has tense and other editing issues, and is too fast-paced and too short for my tastes. I ended up skimming at some point, and may skim through more in the series to see what happens, but definitely rating as just okay.

What is this drivel??

How there are so many complimentary reviews on this one is beyond me. There are so many contradictions in both situation and sentence structure. There are a few instances of third person tense (whereas the rest is first person present). There are numerous instances of sentences one after another that literally mean the exact same thing, just using different words. And then we have no transitions between paragraphs. She’s talking about one thing and then BAM! Moving on to something completely unrelated. It reads quite a bit like a stream-of-consciousness journal entry. Except…well, it makes even LESS sense than that because how can you follow one thought to the next in a linear fashion?

Aside from the poor writing, we have the characters. They’re thinly drawn and what we DO get (mostly from the MC), is not someone anyone would wish to know. She’s got an attitude and she’s a jerk and has a major chip on her shoulder. The rest of the characters aren’t developed well at all, despite the fact that we sometimes hear from their POV.

The romance is … I’m having trouble coming up with words about it. Because even saying the word romance is giving it too much credit. There’s a guy, there’s a girl, there’s a kiss, they’re mates. The end. Literally. That is the depth we get here.

The pacing on this is also atrocious. We begin with the MC walking around campus about to start her new life as a college student, we pause to meet someone in the library and then fly through ‘my first two weeks at school were fine.’ And suddenly the MC is working at a diner after her classes where we are then told HOW she found the job as well as her apartment so she COULD go to school. And then in walks the person she met at the library two weeks ago…only we’re told she ‘just met her two days ago.’ And this is just one example of how the timing is so skewed. It happens numerous times.

Also, the length of this book. Is it a novella? It’s so SHORT. And despite time going by in the storyline, NOTHING really happens. I mean…it does, but it also doesn’t. Let me summarize: ****SPOILERS AHEAD****

•First day on college campus. Walks around before first class, meets a girl and sees a guy in the library.
•Works at a diner for a shift where we find out how she got the job and her apartment. Sees the girl and guy from the library come in. Gets massively sick. Goes home.
•While walking home, is almost jumped and raped and is saved by a werewolf. But because she didn’t run away, she’s kidnapped by said creature.
•Seemingly wakes up at home, but it doesn’t feel right and realizes she’s in a dream world. This is repeated twice. Then she finally wakes for real where she has words with the werewolf where he tells her she will die for learning the truth and then screams for the rest of the day inside a locked room.
•Random POV from both people we met at the library to get a little background story, but just enough to tease us.
•Girl meets the alpha. Told she has to live there, but can go to school and her job still.
• We are told that the girl decided to take online classes and hide in her room for weeks, but then she hears howls and goes to investigate. She sees werewolves in chains and one of them is killed by the same werewolf who saved & kidnapped her.
•Wakes up to said werewolf in her bedroom. They go out to the city for a day together. They kiss. They come home to find another werewolf there saying she is his mate & find out first werewolf is, too.
•Second werewolf despises her because she’s a human. Told she will be kept under lock and key with no work or school anymore to keep her safe.
•Goes out to the woods to see first mate in his wolf form. Rides home on his (human) back, but is ambushed and kidnapped before she makes it home.
•POV of mate angry and losing control. POV of girl we met in library visiting a witch to locate MC. POV of MC trapped in cell.
•POV of mate tracking down wolves that kidnapped the MC. They kill themselves. Gets a phone call from the alpha that the friend from the library is missing and the witch she visited is dead.
• TO BE CONTINUED. The end. Yes. That’s it.

I have to assume this is the author’s first attempts at writing. And that it’s got to be indie published because clearly it did NOT have an editor.

Skip this one … and all of her other books because once you read the synopsis of this one, you’ve read the synopsis of them all.

Meh

It's a promising start but it just drags on and on and when is she going turn to a wolf? Sorry but it didn't do it for me. Far too slow.

Enjoyed

I really enjoyed this book. One fault is that they gloss over her past. It’s bad, but what gives her her strength and fire? What makes her not want boys at the beginning? Where does her scar come from? Why did she just pack up and go like she has no family ties or friends?

Liked it

Seeing auras was one of my gifts, and I had been drawn to hers from the moment I saw her. Pure white auras like Ruby’s were rare. Very rare.

Oh crud , it’s short

I was reading along and all of a sudden I had an “oh shit” moment when it ended after 130 pages. I though I had Accidentally just ordered the sample, but no, it’s just short.

Apart from that, I loved the story!! It jumps right it! She starts college, and within the first two days she is attacked in an alley by three guys and Xavier saves her. The probables is she isn’t supposed to know about wolves. She goes to live with Xavier and the pack, and that is where the trouble starts.

Wanted A Little More

This read was just OK for me. I really wanted a school setting however only a minute portion of the book was set in the college. I really liked Natalie, Ruby the MCs friend, but Ruby and Xavier's personalities weren't consistent enough for me to connect with. In the beginning the dialogue and reactions didn't feel authentic but this improved further along in the book. The various types of supernaturals and the conflict were somewhat intriguing as well as the mystery behind Ruby's origins but I am not sure if it is enough to entice me to read the next book.

Ruby just wants to focus on school and that means no boys. Or so she thought.

Will they find the answers and plan the rescue in time?

This wasn't bad actually! Based off the description I knew this would be a wild ride, and I wasn't disappointed. I picked this one up on a dollar deal offer and for that price, I got a good amount of enjoyment out of it. The characters were all pretty basic, and the storyline wasn't anything new, but it was entertaining. I think my biggest complaint is leaving the book off on such a cliffhanger, especially after being so short. Why not combine that whole storyline into one succinct book, instead of cutting it off randomly, just for the cliffhanger? Most books tend to conclude their storyline before getting onto the next one, and it seems like a bit of a money grab, which I'm sure many others have complained about. I'll probably end up picking up the next at some point if I'm looking for more mindless entertainment, hopefully for a dollar again.

I really don't know why I picked this up, but here I am. There's a lot of writing errors, some basic stuff like a word repeated ("the the") and I always have a problem with the soulmate-thingy since it's 1. the most extreme form of insta-love and
2. often used as a solution to every problem the characters face. "Oh, this dude did or said something really problematic BUT he's my mate so I guess we'll move past that without even having a discussion about it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

With that being said, the books was reaaally short and if the rest of the series continue like this, I'll get to add 4 books to my reading challenge but still actually only read like 400 pages. Feels like a small win

Short read but good!

Mysterious beginning, strange new world of supernaturals, missing past and a strong complicated future alpha. Me like! Xavier is yummy! Ruby is ok but her tough girl act in a cave cell was ridiculous. The second alpha who is supposedly her mate (dislike him so much that I can't remember his name) needs to go. I don't like triangles or harems.

No. Just no. It reads like bad Twilight fanfiction.

The initial story was interesting in concept and poorly executed. The plot was intriguing for about two chapters. It reads like bad Twilight fanfiction and nothing will convince me that it's not . The two male love interest, Axel and Xavier? Absolutely Jacob and Edward. The bubbly cousin, who just happens to know things and is super special compared to everybody else in the pack, Natalie? She is 100% Alice. And the beta, whose name I cannot remember because I instantly called him Emmett in my mind, is super friendly and jokes and laughs and pulls off that big brother vibe. And yet, somehow, the characters were still flat and undeveloped. The MC, Ruby (cause she has red hair, and don't worry if you forget, it will be mentioned several more times) was just irritating and infuriating. She could absolutely be labeled as a combo "pick me girl" and a "Mary Sue." Some of her lines just make me think the author is extremely insecure and some of that comes off as fatphobic. And I'll be honest, the fact that the fatphobia bothered me was mind boggling as that has never happened before. I've read hundreds of books, and of course there's fatphobia present, but it's never actually bothered me until this thing. And her attempts as sassy lines are just cringey, I could practically hear the MC telling me how she's "not like other girls."

Not that this book needs another reason for people to avoid it, but we really need to discuss the writing. The writing in this book is just bad. Someone needs to sit this author down and teach them how to write a character description, because what she gave us was the stats and we needed a description. Those are two very different things. Someone should also teach them how to move a scene. I really didn't need to know that he came to a stop at a red light in the middle of dialogue. I also really didn't need to know that he proceeded to drive when the light turned green. The writing in this book makes me want to get a neon sign for that author to stare at, that simply reads "SHOW DON'T TELL."

This book makes me understand why people view young adult books as poor substitutes for well-written novels. As someone who loves YA, and shifter romance (of which there was none....even though that's the main story line) that's just offensive.

0/10, would NOT recommend.

I checked it out because it was on Kindle Unlimited--

What a mistake.

Immediately apparent is the "I'm not like other girls!" energy the main character has. Next is the absolute disaster of a plot the author cannot seem to pace correctly. It's the first day of school, then we are in the library, then we are finding a job ( that the main character gets by virtue of being so good at serving that she aces the hands-on interview, acting like she has years of experience... At eighteen?). None of this is broken up with any sort of normal, day-to-day activities that might explain the setting or character to us at all. Describing your best friend as "bitch" is a little much, and describing another character as "Goth" felt weirdly pointed and out of place.

Everything is constantly escalating in ways that are never built up to. It's constantly one upping in a battle of misery. Amidst all of this, we are supposed to believe that (one of????) The male lead(s) is falling for the MC, despite how they have been almost entirely antagonistic until this moment. He yelled about how he regretted saving her from being raped (!!), and it doesn't matter that he apologized for it. Absolute garbage thing to say.

The MC is immature, impulsive, and swings wildly between emotions that I am not even sure they know how they really feel. There is never a moment given to them to process anything before they are flinging themselves into the next flimsy, contrived plot point.

The plot foundations are flimsy at best, hardly every explained beyond a few sentences dumped on us even if the moment seems wrong. The MC has so many people going out of their way to pay special attention to her that it's hard to take her seriously for a moment. I don't typically like yelling about Mary Sue's, but it gets kind of close in some places.

The cliffhanger ending was a borderline cop-out, and I definitely won't be reading the rest of the series.

When Ruby is jumped while walking home one night, Xavier, her friend's cousin comes to her rescue. Only, instead of fighting off her attackers like a human, he transforms into a werewolf.  Which, in their world is a huge no-no. Human's are forbidden to know about the werewolves existence. So, Ruby gets locked up at Xavier's pack estate where she awaits her fate. Only, she has no clue that Xavier has imprinted on her and that she is his mate. Needless to say, her world will never be the same.

This story stated off pretty solid. You have a human that is saved by a werewolf only to find out that they are destined mates. But wait, there's more! Another wolf comes out of left field and claims that she's his mate as well. Except, he is very much against humans and is horrified that the woman he's mated to is a human. All of this just sounds so juicy! I was in it to win it, however, that's about as good as it got for me.

I kind of had a problem with Ruby. She keeps saying that Xavier shouldn't have saved her if it meant she was stuck in their world. Um, girlfriend, you were about to be gang raped, and you're upset that a werewolf saved you, thus making you part of their world? I just... how does that even make sense? Just, some of the things she said was just so dumbfounding that I actually kinda wished the werewolves nixed her and moved on.

I wish I could say that Ruby grew on me, however, this is one of those one book sectioned off into different books. So, there was not really any time to connect with the characters or even see any development. Instead, the book just kinda cuts off the moment a climatic part hits. Which, for me, I'm not a fan of. I'm not a fan of the gimicky stuff to get readers to spend more money on your books, when the story could have easily been in one novel.

I received a free copy of this in exchange for a review, and I am reviewing this willingly.

I enjoyed the story, even if it was very short - this was 130 quick pages.
While I agree with other reviews that Ruby was hard to love at times, I also tried to remember that she's a young adult - this book so be categorized in the "New Adult" genre, and that young college kids aren't always the most eloquent.

Someone else had complained about language of the characters, and how it was different with how they would speak to a friend - however, this book read very much as being true to character. My younger sister - who is 21 - often speaks like this with her friends. I don't think that's a fault of the author so much as it's the characters being true to their age and the time period, which is modern.

I will admit that I wasn't a fan of how quickly the scenes jumped, it was a little hard to keep track of the timelines, and the POV switches happened a little too often for me.
I think that if this book was beefed up quite a bit to a novel length of a another hundred or two pages we'd be well on our way to an excellent 5 star read.

However, for being a smaller novel, almost novella sized, we get 4 stars for quick action, young characters that are true to their age and what the story needs.
Ending on the cliff hanger was a great move - I'm on my way to reading the second in the series after devouring this one in one night. I started reading at 10pm last night, and I just finished at 10am this morning!

I will also admit, that I am partial to Xavier and the Blackmoon pack, as a fellow Blackwood. ;P

This story is the first in a YA paranormal fantasy series. It stars new college student named Ruby. She's on her own and hoping that college will better her life. She meets a potential new friend in Natalie.

She's only in school for two days before she is attacked leaving her job at a diner and saved by Xavier Blackwood. She'd seen him around campus and would have been attracted to him if he wasn't so sure of himself. Besides, school is her priority. Boys are a very distant second.

She wakes up and finds out that she has seen werewolves. In fact, Xavier is one. And humans who see werewolves are killed. But for some reason, Ruby is saved even though her life is changed. She can't just go back to her normal life.

Ruby soon finds out that Xavier is her fated mate. This bites because werewolves never take human mates. It goes against all the rules set by the Council. To make matters more complicated, she also appears to be the mate of Axel who is the alpha-to-be of another pack that really hates Xavier's pack.

Confusion reigns! But Ruby and Xavier do become closer and she's resigning herself to being his mate. Then she's kidnapped by unknowns. And the story ends...

This is only part of the story which I find annoying. There is no resolution to any part of the story. Natalie is sure that Ruby isn't an ordinary human, but what is she? How can Ruby be the mate of two different werewolves? Who kidnapped her and why?

People who want to get sucked into a five-book series and who love over-the-top teen drama and angst will enjoy this beginning. It is all available as part of the Kindle Unlimited program.

Xavier Blackwood is the man every girl at my college dreams about at night, myself included but I'd never let anyone know that.
Standing at 6'8 with steel grey eyes he's a walking dream but he's also a world-renowned a-hole.
Who would have thought one night after dragging myself home after doing double shifts at the diner I'd be jumped by three men only to have Xavier come to my rescue.
Oh yes, Xavier bloody Blackwood saved my life but the thing I saw, the CREATURE that ripped those men to shreds wasn't the Xavier everyone knows.
He wasn't human...
He was a wolf, a demon, a creature from myths and it was the most amazing sh*t I've ever seen until he attacked me too and knocked me out.
Humans that learn about the existence of werewolves have to die.
...There are NO exceptions.
So you see, sometimes the person that saves you only CONDEMNS YOU to a worse hell.

This is a brilliant read.
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable.
Great suspense and action with wonderful world building.
Can't wait to read what the author brings out next.
Recommend reading.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

„Luna Rising“ by Sara Snow, is the first installment of a new urban fantasy series by the same name, that offers a sassy main character dealing with the consequences of being at the wrong moment and place.

Ruby Saunders is a college student, fully aware of the propitious situation she is in, she has made it to college against bad grades odds on a scholarship that still forces to work into a dinner, and is she is determined to do everything humanly possible to keep her grades and with them her tuition privileges and her work, which means keeping her focus on, her head down and boys out of the equation.

The mere existence of Xavier Blackwood, a giant 6ft 8in girl’s dream come alive does not make it easy to stick to her resolutions, but she is so far succeeding, that is…. after she is attacked in the middle of the night, only to be rescued in the last moment by Xavier himself… and just right there the dream turns into nightmare… during the fight Xavier turns into some kind of monster… something that shouldn’t exist… and to make things even worse… the knowledge of his mere existence can get her killed.

Sara Snow Series is well written, an interesting story with likeable characters and some new twists around the werewolf myth. True to her style, the book is fast read (ten chapters and around 140 pages), with a length that allows the action to progress nicely and still allows the story to be in one or two sittings. A promising start into a new urban fantasy series.

I really enjoyed this book. Although the only downfall for me personally is that these books are very short. I believe there is so much more that we could have been given In each chapter (hence only 4 stars). It is a quick read I have read the first 3 books in this series in less than 12 hours (reviewing them all before I continue on with the series). There are a lot of differences in this series than in other werewolf fantasy novels I have read which I believe DOES help the book in some ways as it isn’t all cliché HOWEVER I feel that if there were certain things in these books such as a mind link between the human side and their wold there could be a whole new world to explore. I respect the writers decision to do this. I think sometimes it feels like a bit of a slow burner and then when you hit a really good bit it is over rather quickly but this seems to be down to the chapters being so short (I’m used to reading series where the books have 600+ pages so 150ish pages feels like a walk in the park for me). Looking forward to finishing this series. I love the sass of Ruby and I can connect with her emotionally and can feel her struggle. All in all a good book but maybe it is for someone younger than my age range (30’s) and maybe could be viewed more as teen fiction/fantasy.

Disappointing& fractured

From reading the reviews I thought I was going to love this. I, unfortunately,  didn't. I don't usually leave reviews like this but I felt the need to with this one.

The FMC is in college? So 18? Just moved into town, got a job and an apartment on day 1. Two weeks later she was locking up the diner?

A knife slipped from her hand, but never mentioned picking one up.

Xavier stood up and left the room. He was already standing. She spoke about how she had to tilt her head to look in his face.

Had to reread so many sentences because they made little sense.

She slapped him despite the fact he just saved her.

She claimed she would have rather been raped. WTF.

She went from slapping to crying and screaming in 0.5 seconds.

It's so all over the place I DNF at 28%

Xavier's parts appear to be written by someone else? They're so different. So are Natalie's. I get their different characters, it's not that, the writing style is completely different.

This series is popular, am I missing something? My opinion counts for nothing but... This is mine.

Good werewolf romance

Loved the plot and the characters. Finished and AUTOMATICALLY purchased the second book. At times it does give "Twilight" in some scenes bit I love twilight soooo... I'm happy with it.

MINIMAL SPOILERS
Plot summary:

Ruby: new girl in town. So new school, new life etc. she's independent, smart-mouthed, and not a mary-sue. She's classified as human within the story but it becomes obvious that's she's something more.

Xavier: rich, obviously hot and is the next in line alpha of some wealthy pack. Turns out to be Ruby's mate-hell yeah.

Axel: another alpha to be. A total ahole to Ruby. Also her mate. I hate this man especially at the end of bk 1. How is the author gonna save this failure for a mate? He's got but...just so evil.

Witches, fairies and other enchanted beings are mentioned in the story but doesn't focus on them. It's a werewolf romance.

I enjoyed the book. It ends as a cliffhanger, so you HAVE to get book two. Soemtiems i felt like i was reafing a Wattlad story cause the writi g level is supwr simplistic. 1 star is removed because of how short it is. Author can just make a giant book....but whatever helps them get that money.

Luna Rising: Luna Rising #1

This is an ok read. It's a bit on the slow side and repetitive.😕
Ruby has had a tough life (no details given yet), she's basically raised herself. She feels that any time something starts to right for her life turns around & kicks her harder, she feels cursed!😔 Having got a into college she hopes things will turn around especially when she finds a small apartment & a job within days. She also makes a friend, Natalie.

After being attacked by three men after work, she's saved by Natalie's moody, hot Cousin, Xavier. Unfortunately it turned out he was a werewolf & Ruby was him. Knowing about their kind is an automatic death sentence. So he saved her but now she's condemned to die?!😳😡

The storyline has a lot of promise. I especially like the Enchanted. I'm guessing Ruby will turn out to be some type of hybrid maybe? I just hope the potential gets to shine from book #2 onwards.🙏

Luna Rising is a very perplexing book. At first, I was thrilled with the heroine. She wasn't going to take shit from anybody and I love that. And then she undermined herself. Those guys who she called out for catcalling? Maybe she was a bit too mean. The hero witnesses three men attempt to rape her? God, that must have been so traumatic FOR HIM. She might die? Again, how terrible FOR HIM.

And then there's him, swanning around, being all brooding, and moaning that she isn't sufficiently grateful that he saved her from the rape attempt when - get this - this rescue sentences her TO DEATH by his people. Weird that she isn't thrilled, isn't it?

Even little things confused me. She doesn't feel safe in the house, so what does she do? Sign up for online classes, eliminating a brilliant excuse for her to leave the house.

Although technically quite a lot has happened by the time this book closes, it still feels like a mere introduction. There's no depth. Cliffhanger ending or not, I can't see this series improving enough to be worth continuing.
