While I like reading books that include moral, Christian themes, this one just felt kind of stilted. The conversations and interactions between characters didn't seem to flow smoothly. I was happy to see the two main characters together at the end...a happy ending.

Review

This was a good story, but it skipped over too much. For instance, what does Benita do, that she has to go out of the country, (and where?)? It was just too rushed. I liked the lessons Pam and Paul both learned about how scars, whether inside or out, don't define us. And we can all ask for and receive forgiveness, even if we don't believe we deserve it.

Plastic

Plastic characters. Alien conversations. Complicated, complex relationships require experienced advanced writers. Gave up on reading this one. Please learn to write realistic dialog...

life in transition

Many of us know people (or are people) in transition. This story tells of a widow moving on to new possibilities. I got lost in some of the gaps in the storyline but enjoyed it otherwise.

a good storyline with some areas written less than well

This was a good storyline. I enjoyed that it is a Christian book. However, I found than in some areas the way in which it was written did not flow smoothly and had the potential to affect my enjoyment.

There were too many unanswered questions that, while not essential to the story, pulled this reader out of the story to wonder. How did Pam support herself and two sons for all those years after her husban's death? If she had a job or a generous death benefit or some other source of income, I missed it. How did her son Tony die, and why did his brother Adam act like he felt some kind of guilt? Why was Paul unattached at his age with no mention of any previous relationships or reasons why there had been none? How did Adam go from spending all his days drunk in his bedroom in his mother's house to being able to reform and buy a house for himself overnight? What was the whole story behind the parentage of Pam's sons? The excuse given was quite feeble, and her relationship with Dan was unclear.

As a writer, I've already been told not to make main characters' names similar. I realized why when reading this book. Sometimes when the POV changed, at first glance I read Pam instead of Paul or vice-versa and had to look again to know whose POV we were in.

This was enjoyable enough to read a happily-ever-after Christian romance, but I was left wanting more.

Caring For Each Other -
If you want to read a book that will put your heart put through the ringer, then this is the one for you. It takes you through a myriad of emotions, but leaves your heart singing with joy by the end. A combination of a meddling matchmaker, revealing secrets, making amends, overcoming grief, falling in love and doubling down on the power of prayer, makes this story one you will not to miss reading.

I received a copy of this ARC and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Lies can destroy relationships

This story was a bit confusing and hard to keep up with what was going on. A lot of details were left out that I feel would have helped. Otherwise it was a good story with a lot of good lessons for us all. A lie will turn into more lies and more lies. Pam found a man she could love, but felt if he knew the truth about her he would leave. Will she tell him or keep up the lie?

A step at a time

Pam, Paul and Adam all have been dealing with a lot of things from the past. It’s an enjoyable story of discovery, facing fears and acceptance through praying and friendship.

I really did not like this Christian Christmas Book. This was very much like the early Christian genre romances. Thankfully, the writing and stories in the newer books are just written so much better. This is actually a very sad book.

Not understanding love

I had a,really hard time evaluating this book. Not because of the author, however she made the story so real that I was upset with the decisions made by the main character. I realize this can be very true to life, just disappointing.
