The time for war has arrived...
Ian's army is ready. He has Evangeline and the crew of the Black Ops PPD, Piper Shaw and the Retrievers from the Netherworld PPD, Zeke Phoenix and the cops from the Badlands PPD, along with valkyries, mages, werewolves, vampires, and pixies.

Their collective power is vast, but Wynn still holds the edge. She's loaded up with ubers and has been building an army of criminals that all but dwarf Ian's numbers.

But there's no time left for recruitment. War is on the horizon, which means each of Ian's squads will need to use every trick in the book to take down Wynn. Failure will mean the end of Las Vegas, and very likely the end of peace in both the Netherworld and topside.

Wynn is a fully powered amalgamite with an evil mind, and that is a recipe for dark times.

The question is who will be willing to pay the highest price in order to win?

The thrilling conclusion to this story arc is absolutely epic. The events of the previous books were leading up to a final battle, and they truly delivered in a way that felt like the alternate title could be PPD: Amalgamite War. On the grandest scale yet, members from multiple PPD precincts join in the chaos on a level well beyond mere cameos. The action and hilarity was riveting and caused me to fall out of my chair with laughter. Awesome read.

What a great look into where the various PPD precincts are and the possibilities that exist. Seeing them working together was fun and really pulled all of their stories together.
Of course, several little tidbits from past books came up. For example, Vegas was modeled after Infernal City. Who would have guessed?
And for me, the funniest line was by Rose, in the chocolate store. But you will have to read this book if you want to find out what I am talking about. (Although, I might steal the name of the law office for some personal comments-my brother is a lawyer).
And finally, original only just begins to describe this book, and all of the PPD. I have read hundreds of books and this is the first, and only, book which has used such a battle winning gambit. Truly a first for me.

In the ultimate book. Ian faces his sister Wynn and her Ubers. But Ian is all set with help from a whole load of amazing characters from the other ppd books series. Just when you thought you couldn't be more surprised, you also get new characters which will have you in absolute stitches. Filled with snark, humour and innuendos which will have you crying with laughter, you won't want to put this book down. Warning, reading the ppd books is very addictive and might have you chuckling for days after!

Vegas PPD is hilarity and urban fantasy greatness

Holy PPD. Epic. This was an epic book with a lot of intertwined paranormal police department divisions making appearances. Ian was his usual bad ass hilarious self. The Vegas PPD is completely amazing. Full of action, prepubescent humor and just the right amount of heart. Turbo and Lydia are my favorites! Definitely worth reading more than once. Also the Tush-Man completely hilarious and huge! Thanks John and Chris for the best PPD

Dex the Best

With a few nods to popular culture and with even more laughs than ever before Las Vegas PPD goes large and threatens even lawyer action as they kick and p*** their way against any who threaten Las Vegas and the larger community.
Those who recognise other series will be glad to see exactly what kind of action is contained within.
Best of the Dex yet.

Funnier and Bigger than Dex has ever went before

Epically Brilliant

As a final chapter in a series of books you couldn’t ask for better, Wynn, Ian’s sister has gathered a large army of ubers and Vegas criminals and a war is is looming, Ian calls in friends from all over the supernatural world to help him win the war. With John’s usual flair for action and comedy you can’t go wrong with this “final” instalment of Ian Dex and the Las Vegas Paranormal Police Department.

Absolutely a fun ride!

By this point, you know all the players and how Ian and the Las Vegas PPD got to the big showdown. The interactions among all the different characters are perfectly hilarious. There's tons destruction and action, magical and otherwise. This was written perfectly to finish the story arc and set up the next one.

Excellent story!

I saved my review until I finished the last book in the series. I have to confess, in the first few books I thought Ian Dex was a colossal douche. They kept building and building right to the very end and I loved the pay off. Great character development! I'm looking forward to the rest of the books in this series!

Another brilliant book in the Ian Dex PPD series. We find out how friends and characters from other PPD department come together to foil another fiend. You will laugh, cry and not want the book to end.

So invest some time to read the entire series if you have not already done so.

What a ride

I'm so sad that it's ending. The Ian Dex series was a lot of fun to read, and this last book is no exception. Ian and gang square off with his sister in the ultimate battle. The ending was satisfying. I hope this won't be the last we see of Ian

Ian Dec

This is a wonderful book tying up the last 3 books. Ian and his sister have their own armies, both deadly. But, you need to read the book for jokes, snark, battles and such. Give yourself a treat and read!!

Epic conclusion

Searing Destiny is the action packed, laugh out loud, conclusion to the Ian versus Wynn story. Oh how I wish this were a movie, some of my mental images are stunning and some are horrifying in the funniest way possible.

A crazy ride

Zeke, Ian and the various PPD characters and a big newcomer take on powerful Wynn . The PPDs do what they do best, snark and fight. Yikes- the Phrasing. A fabulous Easter egg but cannot reveal spoilers , promise you will enjoy it. Fun and enjoyable. Recommended.

Amazingly tremendously good.

This book was an adventure from beginning to end. It keeps the blood pumped and mind wondering what could possibly happen next. The conclusion sets up another book without leaving any cliffhangers in this one. Excited to read the next book about Ian Dex.
