About this ebook

My code name is Aries. The stars say I’m aggressive, dominant, first in line to lead.

The stars aren’t wrong.

Zodiac Tactical is my company. It’s run by those I’ve chosen for their skills and ability to outmaneuver adversaries. We guard, protect, rescue…assist on the side of the angels.

We eliminate the threat when nobody else can.

My hobby of putting bad guys out of business has created powerful enemies, but I’ve always made sure there was nothing in my life I couldn’t live without.

Until now. Until her.

She’s not a warrior, she’s an artist. She sees colors everywhere and greets the world—and me—with a smile. I knew I shouldn’t come near her from the beginning, but she’s everything I’ve never been able to be.

And now a monster has taken her, caged her, to get even with me.

My code name is Aries. And I will burn the world to the ground to get her back.

I was hoping for a Wavy/Ian romance - they came face to face in the Linear Tactical series, and the chemistry was there even with a limited amount of page time. Needless to say, I was excited to get my hands on this one, and just as I expected, Janie Crouch does not disappoint. This first Zodiac Tactical book is a bit grittier, a little darker than most books I've read by this author, but it sure made for a gripping storyline. The journey Ian and Wavy take, both separately and together, gets you right in the feels. Janie pretty much always gives us a satisfying, happy ending for the romantic couple, but I've gotta say there were times when I wasn't sure it was in the cards for these two despite how good they were together. I won't go any further into detail so I don't spoil anything. Instead, I'll wrap it up by saying Code Name: Aries is another stellar read by one of my favorite authors. It's the start of a promising new series with characters I can't get enough of.

A real nail biter Wavy, an artist making a living as a waitress, thinks that Ian, owner of Zodiac Tactical, is a member of a enemy group when she catches some text on his phone after he sits down in the diner where she works late one night. As the story progresses the confusion is cleared up after a mess is made, they are drawn to each other despite the danger they feel, and when the past comes back to bite them their ability to survive the danger hangs in the balance. Janie Crouch kicks off her new series with a colorful rainbow of old and new characters as they continue their quest to shut down Mosaic and all things evil. The reader is in for a real nail biter with this one and I can’t wait for the rest of the Zodiac team to get their stories. I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
