Publisher's summary

I’ve been living under storm clouds since my honorable discharge, but Julian’s the sun.

I’ve tried everything to deal with my PTSD from yoga to sunning my butthole, but nothing seemed to help.

So when my brother suggests a service dog, I figure I don’t have anything to lose. The last thing I expect is for the dog to come with a cheerful, quirky trainer I can’t get out of my head....

I’m too screwed up for love, but a chance to explore a side of myself I didn’t realize existed until recently is too good to pass up.

But the more I get to know Julian, the more I start to think I might not be beyond saving after all....

Ranger is a low-angst stand-alone MM romance featuring a slightly grumpy veteran, a sunshiney animal trainer, an ornery goat, a deaf donkey, and some seriously hot encounters, resulting in a very happy ending. While Ranger was a side character in Heart (Ballsy Boys 3), his book is a stand-alone and can be listened to on its own.

Sweet, Sexy, and Enjoyable!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this sweet romance! Couldn't help bonding with the boys, appreciating their places as they came together!! Right blend of sensual & soul. Loved the humor & compassion, deaf donkey, and bossy goat. Very fun crowd!!!

Sweet ex-ranger with PTSD & Service Dog Trainor

great story hot, sizzling and easy listening to of John Solo's amazing voice narrations!! Yeah the book's cover picture and Rangers Voice are a perfect match! The voice of the Service Dog Trainor Character Julian is perfect as well matched to his character of someone who's caring and compassionate for the service animals he provides and to the people he's proving them.

So good

Bought this one on a whim and wasn’t expecting how much I would love it.

Rangers story is sad but Julian is such a light both to Ranger and the story. I’m a bit of a sucker for a military rope which is what drew me in.

Haven’t listened to a John Solo narration but really enjoyed it and thought he did a great job.

This. This is why a true ‘voice actor’ makes the story even better

I haven’t even finished listening and already felt I needed to review this audiobook. When I read the story (through KU) I could tell that it would be even more amazing with a good voice actor. I watched and waited for the audiobook, saw the name of the narrator, and purchased it immediately. Nora Phoenix and K.M. Neuhold wrote a tale that tugs at your heartstrings, in the best of ways, and John Solo brought the story to life and tears to my eyes. Definitely will be adding this audiobook to my list of Favorites so I can quickly access it and listen again. Over and over. Superb job and a huge THANK YOU to the writers and narrator!

Authentic

Ranger's perspective felt really genuine. His struggle was oddly refreshing because it felt real and it wasn't only happiness or romance. I was concerned that this book might make it seem as if a pet and a boyfriend will solve your mental illness but I really appreciated the clarification that a boyfriend was not a solution and that a service dog has an important job and isn't simply a pet.

It was a bit difficult for me to hear the connection to the ballsy boys series knowing that the narrator to that series is no longer with us...but this narrator is also fantastic and gave a distinctive and emotional performance.

The romance was cute and peppered with sexy scenes and serious issues. it's a nice story.

I recommend this book.

Fantastic

I adored this book when I read it. Hearing John Solo bring Ranger and Julian to life was just fantastic. The voices he does for the characters was strong and believable. The emotion and chemistry is just off the charts!

Ranger Is Amazing!

this book is one of KM's and NP's Best! I cannot wait for next 1 in the series! I love John Solo (and your use of Nick Russo in other books). Great narrators are a must! Beautiful dynamic between Ranger and Julian. I was enthralled from beginning to end!!

Recovery Takes Work

This story is full of feels and some hard moments. I love that this story doesn't just gloss over how hard recover from PTSD is. There isn't an insta healing just by meeting Julian. There is ongoing hard work and there are missteps. I also love that you see both men supporting each other. I also like the fact that even when Ranger is in a crisis situation he takes the time to help out someone else who has a relative in need.
I really enjoyed the audio recording of the book.
