Tested Love by Juliette Duncan is the second book in the True Love series and can be bought alone or as part of the box set. It continues where book one left off and is a wonderful Christian family novel.
This story focuses on different themes to the first book but God is still very much at the heart.
Taking on a teenager is not easy. Tensions rise within the family as everyone wants to exert their authority. The novel shows the importance of having firm but loving boundaries. It also focuses on trying to unite the family rather than divide it.
Life can be hard at times and when trouble hits, our faith can be tested. We need to keep our eyes firmly fixed on God. We have to trust that He is good even when life looks bleak.
Another wonderful tale from Juliette Duncan. It's on to book three for me now, to see how the story continues.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

I have purchased the 10 book Australian based clean boxset titled The True Love and Precious Love Series Boxset: A Christian Romance by Juliette Duncan and this review was given freely.
The 10 part saga of the Williams family touches on many serious topics that challenge ones faith and health but also provides a picture of the growth, love and comfort that can be found when walking with God. Vivid descriptions are interwoven between heartfelt prayers, family drama and portions of scripture. Includes the titles Tender Love,Tested Love,Tormented Love,Triumphant Love, Forever Cherished,Forever Faithful,Forever His,Unchained,True Love at Christmas,Promises of Love, and A Time to Treasure: Prologue

**Tender Love:
A little ironic. By a twist of fate, Tessa's counselor roommate Stephanie and two puppies bring veterinarian Tessa Scott and recently divorced single father and accountant Ben Williams together. Contains the serious topics of depression, substance abuse, breaching patient confidentiality and abandonment which are tempered by a strong faith in God.

**Tested Love:
The continued saga of the Williams family is a tense one filled with the sad undercurrents of jealousy, miscarriage, suicide, injuries and Jayden's secret relationship with his mother Kathryn in Florida, USA.
Newly weds Tessa and Ben Williams struggle with adjusting to each, a new home,a new church family, a new job and mercurial 14 year old Jayden who is testing the waters to learn his place in the new family while struggling with the loss of his old schedule and security.

**Tormented Love:
This installment of the Williams family saga is transcontinental and features a "the grass is not always greener"undertone complicated by peer pressure and both drug and physical abuse but ending on a hopeful note.
Tessa and Ben join her brother Elliot on a mission trip to Ecuador in hopes of reconnecting in both Faith and love while distracting themselves concerning Jayden's cutting all contact and going to live with his needy and superficial mother Katryn in the USA.

**Triumphant Love:
This final prayer filled complex sequel of the Williams saga features the serious topics of the trials of an unplanned single teen pregnancy, Tessa's pregnancy scare, substance abuse, murder, the threat of Jayden's deportation and touches on elder memory loss but is balanced by a renewal of Faith, the loving aide of two wonderful Christian families and a happy Williams family reunion.
After being gone for a year, Montana resident Jayden finds both his Faith in God and love for Angie Morgan deepening, his homesickness for his father and Tessa growing, and his sense of obligation to his abused mother lessening.

**Forever Cherished:
A touch of irony with a fair amount of drama. This prayer filled sequel features the trials and rewards of a new baby, the beginnings of the Williams family's Misty Morn Christian retreat where Tessa helps her first lodger, depression and suicide troubled Leah Maloney, find Leah's first love and child, relates Tessa's father's progressing dementia and provides an event filled father-son camping trip for Ben and Jayden.

**Forever Faithful:
A second chance at love story where bad things happen to good people but ultimately ends happily with a wedding for the Williams family.
After college veterinary student and Christian youth group leader Jayden is assaulted and receives a life threatening injury from 19 year old Troy Barrett whose drink was spiked, Angie flies to Australia to be by his side only to be followed by her controlling and jealous boyfriend Cole.

**Forever His:
A prayer filled sequel with a nice recap and the story of newlyweds Jayden and Angie Williams's adjustment to each other as they travel and witness. Contains picturesque descriptions of the places and the people Jayden and Angie see during their year long honeymoon trip around the world but also contains Ben and Angie struggles over how to take care of her aging parents and how Ben's boss Brad being investigated for embezzlement will affect them.

**Unchained:
A poignant companion novel to the Williams family saga starting the day well to do stay at home mom Sally Richardson finds out she is penniless because of her accountant husband Brad's gambling addiction and embezzling. This is a prayer filled novella depicting a family's struggle with addiction, communication and self image as they build a closer relationship with both God and each other.
Can be read as a standalone but best if read in sequence.

**True Love at Christmas:
Taking place around the time Tessa and Ben go on their first mission trip, this is a Christmas companion novel to the Williams family saga featuring the true meaning of Christmas, a reaffirmation of Faith, veterinarian Harrison Smith's romance with Zoe Taylor and, the Christmas surprise he and his siblings give their parents.

**Promises of Love:
An emotion packed continuation of True Love at Christmas laced heavily with the theme of loss but ends happily. Promises of Love finds the newly engaged Zoe Taylor and Harrison Smith spending Christmas day with Zoe's extended family and her financially struggling parents, Harrison hoping for a short engagement while Zoe is torn trying to figure out how to make everyone happy while dealing with doubts concerning her relationship with the no-Christian Harrison, her grandmother's sudden illness and with the sudden return of her high school boyfriend Spencer.

**A Time to Treasure: Prologue: Not read

Tessa and Ben are newly married and bonding with Jaden is really important to her but she finds that she's clashing with Ben. The more time they spend as a married couple the more they find they are butting heads on how Ben is parenting Jaden. However, they will figure it out as neither of them is willing to give up. Until Jaden disappears on a family vacation.

I love Tessa and Ben together they still have a lot of growing as a couple to do but they are both willing to listen to each other and grow. In this installment we are seeing more of Jaden's point of view which I think adds to the story. I really liked that the story is written from multiple points of view as we get to understand each of the characters.

This is a sweet christian romance I picked it up because I was reading Australian authors for a Goodreads challenge. I haven't read a christian romance in a long time so I found this series refreshing the romance is sweet and the story is captivating. I enjoyed the author's writing style and devoured the book in one afternoon. I actually read the whole series one after another because I had to know what would happen next to Tessa, Ben, and Jaden.

This is a sweet, Christian story which the name very well describes. I read Book 1 quite some time ago but it didn't take me long to pick up the continuing story of Ben, Tessa and teenage son, Jayden. Raising a teen is never easy, but bringing a young teen right into a new marriage is certainly not for the feint of heart, and young Tessa finds many challenges as she starts, not only the role of Jayden's step-mother, but Ben's wife. Of course, to make matters worse, both Ben and Tessa have hurts from the past which also tear away at their emotions.

The author, Juliette Duncan, does a very good job of telling this ongoing story of a typical family dilemma/marriage. I thought Book 2 ended a bit abruptly, but since I had already bought the Books 1-4 boxset, after reading Book 2, I just continued right on into Book 3. The books are definitely meant to be read as part of a series. Pleasant, enjoyable reading for any age category.

A wonderful continuation of Tess and Ben's story. I love how Duncan is not afraid to showcase the realities of life. Even without a step-son, life as a married couple isn't a breeze. No matter how much time you spend together prior to marriage, there are somethings you won't know or be expecting. There are ups and downs, disagreements and fights. How you handle these, how you treat your partner, and how you reach an agreement is what is important.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Wish I could give it three and a half because it was better than the first installment. Once again, there is no real ending. If you didn't buy the series you would have to buy the next book in hopes of some kind of closure. That's the part I don't like. I think the author is good enough to bring her novels to acceptable conclusions and rest assured the subsequent books would sell. I'm on to book three because I have grown quite fond of Tessa and Jayden, Ben, not so much.

I read Tested Love as part of the 4 book bundle which I received as a complimentary copy, though I had already bought books 2-4. I voluntarily reviewed the books. Hard for me to remember what stood out in each book as I read them all. They move quickly which I liked.

Tested Love

This is the story of a young man whose mother walked out on her family and ended up with another man. His father remarried and he was not a happy camper living with them. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill

This is a great series! I have thoroughly enjoyed both books so far and cannot wait to start book #3. The author gives great insight into love and life that happens in broken and mixed marriages and how God can and will help you through any difficulty that may arise. The wonderful characters come to life under the author's tender care and loving insights. I did receive a complimentary copy of this book from the author, but I have read and reviewed it voluntarily and I highly recommend this author as one to add to your library.

Tested Love, written by Juliette Duncan, is the second book of a four book series. This book is continued in book three and is best read as a series and in order.
Loved book one (Tender Love) where Ben and Tessa met and fell in love. This book shows us Ben and Tessa as they figure out the life as a married couple with a teenage son. My favorite character: Tessa. I love that she is so caring about having a step son--and teenager at that. She wants the best for him, yet she hasn’t figured out how to be a wife, let alone how to be a mother. As a wife and an instant step mom roll as soon as I was married, I can say that the way that Duncan created and allowed these characters to play out on the pages of Tested Love is quite accurate to many a day in which I too walked. Not unlike my early days of marriage, this character, Tessa, has to figure it out as she goes.
Along the way we find that Tessa and Ben’s love is truly tested. Whether it’s just everyday occurrences in a marriage or the struggles that a teen has with just growing up…Ben and Tessa have challenges. Who they turn to is a huge factor….will they cling to each other and go directly to the Lord with their struggles, or will they allow the devil to discourage them and break them apart?
This story continues to a third book that will be out in the early fall of 2016, but you’ll find that this book does complete itself in many areas…so it’s not a cliffhanger that you can’t deal with! I thoroughly enjoy Duncan’s style of writing and showing us these characters in action. I was gifted this book in exchange for my honest review.

I'm always impressed by Juliette Duncan's writing. She is able to capture the essence of marriage and family in a way that I have not seen before. In Tested Love, she shows us that marriage can be difficult for newlyweds, especially when you are dealing with blending a family.

This is Tess's first marriage and Ben's second. Tess is trying to figure out how to navigate her way through her marriage and be a step-mother at the same time. It is hard and there are many pitfalls that Ben and Tess face. They are learning how to relate, communicate and understand each other which is very difficult when you add co-parenting in the mix and when two people have different ideas on parenting. Tess is trying not to overstep her boundaries when it comes to Jayden and Ben is trying his best to allow her to help him.

This story shows that no matter what stage you are at in your marriage or whether it is a first or second marriage you must put God first. You must seek him at all times for guidance and be quick to listen to Him when He speaks. Juliette shows you know that marriage is hard work. When adding an already made family, it can be very difficult and sometimes explosive. But, if you lean and depend on God it can workout. And this is what Ben and Tess discover along the way.

I highly recommend Juliette's books. As I said she has a way of capturing marriage and family that is realistic, there is no sugarcoating. The couples are not perfect and everything does not wrap into a neat bow at the end. If you are looking for stories that show what happens after the wedding then this is the author for you.

“With God’s help, we’ll get through it.” No truer words have been spoken.

Tested Love finds Ben and Tessa married and, along with Jayden, settling into a new home. Adjusting to being a wife and an instant mother to a teenager is a challenge for anyone. Tessa and Ben find themselves disagreeing quite often when it comes to Jayden. At times Tessa wonders if she really can handle everything or if she is in over her head.

Suddenly, Tessa is faced with two tragedies in the same week. She does not know why these things happened, but she turns to God for help to get through it. She knows that He is the only one who can heal her heart.

Meanwhile, Jayden seems to be drifting farther and farther away from Ben and Tessa. Jayden was devastated when his mother left him to live a life of wealth and fame. Tessa knows he felt rejected and the hurt was beyond what Tessa could imagine. She does everything she can to try to help them bond as a family, even planning trips for the three of them and Jayden’s best friend Neil. Unfortunately, Jayden pushes away from everyone, even Neil.

Throughout all the heartache and pain Ben and Tessa face in Tested Love, they always turn to God. This book is a gentle reminder that God is always in control. Even when things seem hopeless, as at the end of Tested Love, God can see us through all life’s struggles.

This is a very well written book. Lots of tension with some resolution in this part of the series. I love that there is so much about faith in these stories. Questioning God over situations, praying through, and realizing God is in control regardless. Ben and Tessa are now married and, along with Ben's son Jayden, are working on being a family. As in real life, many problems crop up and how they are handled make this book well worth reading. There is a cliff hanger at the end which will be, hopefully, resolved in the next in the series. I can highly recommend this book. Juliette is a gifted author and I love her stories. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I had the honor to review this wonderful book for the author. When Tessa married Ben, she didn't realize how hard it would be to help raise a teenage boy. Jayden is going through a hard time since his real mother took off and left him. Watching Jayden and Ben's relationship struggles are hard on all of them. Tessa is a very special person, the way she tries to help Ben and Jayden is amazing. The characters in this book are very special. You will feel God working throughout this whole book.

I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review...
This book is the 2nd in the series, and although I didn't enjoy it as much as the first, I did like it. Had a good story, great characters. It deals with hard life stuff and shows strength they have by turning to God.
However she jumped around on the stories and even completely missed important leads.
But definitely worth the read.
Looking forward to book 3..

After getting married and moving to a home closer to her new veterinary clinic, Tessa urges Ben and Jayden to attend a new church.  Their marriage is tested by the rebellious attitude of Jayden and leaves Tessa thinking that Ben is too harsh with him.  A couple very upsetting things happen to the new family making serious strains in the marriage.  While Ben is the serious leader in the family, Tessa is admirable for her strength and beliefs.

The love between these newly weds is certainly tested! They come into their marriage after prior heartbreaking relationships and become a ready made family. The trials of raising a teenage son is compounded by the father's adamant discipline, the accepting of a new step mother, and ultimately an interfering biological mom.
