I really enjoyed this middle grade series, especially this 3rd one in this series. I voluntarily chose to review this story and I rated it a 5*. Maddy is a teen and dealing with a lot of first things. This one deals with a new friend who is dealing with child abuse. Quite a few feels in this, so you might want to talk to your teen after they read this. But you really need to let your child know about this too. It does not show actual violence, just the end result. When our teens have so much thrown at them at this age, this shows a way to deal with it also.

A great story featuring young 12-13 year old girls and some of the many issues that they have to face in their young lives: - issues like a parent re-marrying, having to move from their own loved home and community to a new place and a new school, the fear of being the new kid in the area, and starting over again with new teachers, new community, new church, and the biggest thing for young teens - making new friends.

Young Maddy certainly had 'butterflies' in her stomach as she faces all these issues and much, much more in this riveting story, meant for young teens, but enjoyable reading for all ages.

I purchased the preteen Christian short novel Trouble in Town: The Madeleine Richards Box Set (The Madeleine Richards Series Book 3) by Juliette Duncan and this review was given freely.
Maddy begins to make friends at her new school and has to reconcile with her mom's pregnancy. Topics such as alcoholism, abuse, and prejudice as discussed.

So sad!

So many bad attitudes in teenagers are covering up abuse. They feel so trapped and that no one will believe them.

Trouble in Town is a truly good book. Madeleine has matured quite a bit since the 1st book and now faces a very difficult situation in a new school. The writing enabled me to experience what Maddy was feeling and the conflict she felt. An engrossing read and one I would highly recommend. I was given a copy of the book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I had the honor to review this great book for the author. This is a great story for young teenagers to read. The way these young girls help each other is amazing. You won't be able to stop reading this book.
