A Thousand Li Books 1-3: An Omnibus Collection for a Xianxia Cultivation Series (A Thousand Li Omnibus Book 1) Kindle Edition
Long Wu Ying never expected to join a Sect or become a real cultivator. His days were spent studying, planting rice on the family farm and spending time with his friends. Fate, however, has different plans for Wu Ying, forcing him to decide between his common, pedestrian life and the exciting, blood soaked life of a cultivator.
This collection contains the first three books of A Thousand Li, which traces Wu Ying’s humble beginnings as a peasant to his development as a powerful cultivator of the Verdant Green Waters Sect and collects the first arc of this Asian epic fantasy.
A Thousand Li is a series on cultivation, immortals, wondrous martial art styles and spirit beasts. It is sure to please wuxia and xianxia fans, as well as those looking for a more westernised cultivation story. A Thousand Li is written by Tao Wong, the bestselling scifi and fantasy LitRPG author of the System Apocalypse, Adventures on Brad and the Hidden Wishes.

Wu Ying
Wu Ying never expected to be a cultivator. He was content to follow in his family’s footsteps and become a farmer under Lord Wen.
Fate has other plans, and when given the opportunity, he grasps it tight. Wu Ying is still uncertain about his place in the sect, his Master and his martial sister and desperately hopes not to shame himself or his family by failing out of the sect.

Fairy Yang
Fairy Yang is the youngest, most famous Elder in the Verdant Green Waters Sect of cultivators.
Most of her infamy comes from her beauty, though she is a prodigy in cultivation and follows in her Master’s footsteps of balancing that most difficult of all path’s to immortality - the understanding and manipulation of karma.
Still, it is her title of Fairy and her great beauty that has left many cultivators spending hours daydreaming about the cold, imperious beauty.

Yin Xue
Yin Xue, son of Lord Wen, was always meant for greater things.
A False Dragon - a cultivator who has progressed through the use of a private tutor, spirit herbs and spirit food to achieve the fourth level of Body Cleansing before entering the sect, he is well aware of his privileges and the demands placed upon him because of those.
He is tall, arrogant and moves with trained grace as the son of a nobleman of Shen.

Tou He
Tou He is a fellow initiate like Wu Ying, sent to the Verdant Green Waters sect after being banished from his monastery due to his inability to follow the Buddhist scriptures.
He still hews close to their ideals, in all but one important area. He lacks ambition to progress his cultivation, but is a prodigy with his staff weapon.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2024Enjoyable, fast-paced, fun/engaging characters. Losing sleep cause it's hard to put down. Inhaled the first three books in less than 48 hours. Ready for more; truly delightful.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2024A great place to start, especially if you're not super familiar with cultivation. Not only that, a fun and engaging read.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2024Drawing heavily on Chinese mythology and history, and I guess on martial arts films, this is an in-depth story of someone whose world is expanding as he learns and advances in a mystical discipline, makes friends and enemies, and has his perspectives widened by life-changing experiences.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2022This story is fantastic. The characters are very well done, with depth and goals. The MC is not OP but he works hard and are never the best one around. Love his growth and the explanations of his cultivating enlightenment.
I also enjoy the appendix which is added l, ut brings more understanding to the Chinese lore that are being referenced and it's very easy to access. Great reading. Enjoy everyone!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2022I finished the System Apocalypse series and thought to try this out and I have finished the series (to book 7). Tao Wong has become my standard for LitRPG and Cultivation series, unfortunately, which has me way too critical about other writers books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not bad
Good price but the voice in the audio is annoying

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting series on cultivation
This is not heavy Wuxia styled though it has some of that but is about the slow growth as the main character learns and grows through Chi cultivation.
The stories have their slow spots but the story is also interesting especially if you like the genre..
I am up to book 9 and still reading
