Publisher's summary

After taking and defending Vuzgal, Erik and Rugrat have a new task to complete: build a city.

They have been racing through the realms at this point, but Vuzgal is a prize that they can't simply give up on. Alva is mobilized, as are their allies, to build out the new city.

It is time that they solidify their gains, working on their crafts, their fighting ability, and cultivation. As they expand their personal power, their gaze turns toward Vermire, to the dungeon. It's time they started to exert the strength they've built up.

Alva moves in the shadows, but to what effect? The answer lies in the Fifth Realm.

I love the series

I wish this book would have focus more on the enemies of Eric and Rugrat I do like that it gave some background on the other characters just wish I had more keep on getting lost in some of the characters

Unfortunately the end...

Unfortunately the 5th Realm is the last realm... Although there is so much going on that it's sometimes a little hard to follow, it is definitely worth it. The sense of immersion that the previous 4 titles hold is carried over seamlessly. I am so fond of this series that I purchased the 5th and 6th Realms at the same time. I was totally unaware that the 6th book was performed by a different narrator. The very 1st sentence in the 6th Realm jolted me so hard a almost fell out of my seat. The new narrators style and voice are so unlike the original that I could not make it through the 1st chapter of the 6th installment and I immediately returned it. Unfortunately I can not review it now that I no longer own it. The decision to abruptly switch narrators halfway through this series in upsetting. Hopefully the book will be re-recorded due to the abundance of unhappy reviews. I am sure the narrators style is fitting in other books, but it is extremely out of place in The Ten Realms. The voice is so monotoned that following characters is nearly impossible to the point of unbearable. How the producers believed this choice would be welcomed is beyond me. I am giving this review in hopes that no one else makes the mistake that I made. I am praying the Sixth Realm is re-recorded. If so I will definitely repurchase it. If not, I will not return to this series.

It keeps on rolling

Not much new to say. Lot's of city/army building, strategy and tactics. If you liked the series so far you should like this one.

so amazing

The biggest issue with this series is waiting. The is not only worth the wait but should be an auto purchase.

Great book, Great Addition, Very Interesting

Hi - love the series, love the voice acting, just a bit odd of the amount of times the characters say interesting. or interested. I guess if I had a complaint that was it.

Mana is like water.

While the book overall is fun, it's very heavy on management. Going far in depths in long textbook like explanations of how things work. Especially Rugrat and his damn mana is like water and flows like nature stuff. He says it over and over but keeps acting like it's the first time he said it and some new revelation, it gets super annoying. This book is basically just a lot of housekeeping and not much adventure or story progression. At most the best part is the beast mountain plot line that develops something new.

Leaves a lot unresolved

I'm hoping that the next book will resolve a lot of the open storylines established here, I have read books before that hastily wrapped up our abandoned stories they lost track of. For the most part, it doesn't seem like a cliffhanger though, making the end of the book seem off.
The narrator pauses a lot during dialogue in ways that don't make sense and seems to change the voices of some of the side characters when they don't remember them. Most of the male voices are only different in terms of how deeply they portray them.

Barely spent any time in the fifth realm

Should focus more on the main characters Less on side characters it was getting hard to keep up with names and who they are

Great city building and progression

I was disappointed to see previous reviews giving such a low star rating. Book 5 brings a ton of adventuring, city building, and character progression. It’s true the entire story doesn’t revolve around Eric and Rugrat, but I view this as a benefit. More characters = more adventure. Loved the narrator and nervous to start book 6 with the new narrator.

Huge fan of the 10 Realms, but...

This book felt like filler. Some good chapters and character development, but only a little of what the other books overflowed with, ACTION and SUSPENSE.
