Find out more about HM Clarke and her books on her website http://hmclarkeauthor.com

H M Clarke has been a Console Operator, an ICT Project Manager, Public Servant, Paper Shuffler, IT Help Desk nerd, and a medical biller and coder (the last being the most exciting.) Now she writes Fantasy and Science Fiction while secluded in her dragon's den surrounded by her large book collection.

She attended Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia, where she studied for a Bachelor of Science (Chem), and also picked up a Diploma in Project Management while working for the South Australian Department of Justice.

In her spare time, she likes to lay on the couch and watch TV, garden, draw, read, and tell ALL her family what wonderful human beings they are.

She keeps threatening to go out and get a real job (Cheesecake Test Taster sounds good) and intends to retire somewhere warm and dry – like the middle of the Simpson Desert. For the time being, however, she lives in Ohio and dreams about being warm…

She is also a bit of a video game nerd and, is into Star Trek, Midsomer Murders and Harry Potter, and she absolutely adores the TV show Almost Human

4.5 Only because I didn't know if there is more or that is all?
It is good, I liked it, dark. But good. But the ending? I saw no part either.
For what is there. It is truly worth the read and good!

Clarke’s stories are well written and flow nicely. Mystery surrounds a young woman as she makes her way home through a dark alley in Elizabethan London. Marion comes across a young man begging for food. They are mugged by two burly men. Marion’s true nature is unleashed, and the story continues from there. I would love to read the rest of this short story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant intro to Marion

It was a joy to read with enough detail to feel the eerie streets of 16th century London as you turn the pages. You start to get a real feel for Marion and her dark and secretive afterlife; and her concern for Adam who falls into her care. It’s described as a short story, but it feels more like Chapter 1 of a much larger book. I hope this story continues at some point; I’d love to see Marion’s character develop; who was her master and who is Adam and why is he in trouble?
