Publisher's summary

As personal assistant to a powerful alpha of a large pack, there are certain rules Jamie has for himself to make sure he’s successful at his job.

First, nothing and no one gets to the alpha without his say-so.

Second, schedules will be enforced for everyone. At all costs.

Third, a certain Enforcer with an enticing scent and scarred face is not to be stared at, drooled over, and/or daydreamed about.

And fourth, human hunters are never, ever mate material—no matter what their smiles or Southern drawls do to him.

But what if his own rules are preventing Jamie from finding something unique and magical and hotter than he could ever imagine? Because being caught between a grumpy cougar and a dangerous hunter was the last place Jamie thought he should be...but it might just be exactly where he needs to be to find both of his fated mates.

The Hunter and His Mates is the fourth book in the best-selling Kincaid Pack series, which is most enjoyable when listened to in order. This installment is an MMM romance featuring a scentless human trying to make a home in a pack of shifters, an Enforcer with mild PTSD and a possessive streak a mile wide, and the sweet little hawk who adores them both.

5 Shiny Stars for The Hunter and His Mates!

Kiki Clark killed it with The Hunter and His Mates! Next to Rick & Kai, this trio is my favorite in the series. Strong and confident Gabriel, sweet and surprisingly passionate Jamie, and protective Drake make an amazing team once they work out the wrinkles. The narration by Kirt Graves was fantastic! I was impressed with his ability to bring to life three main characters so fully. Even Gabriel’s sexy southern drawl came through flawlessly. And every time Jamie says “oh feathers” made me smile. I will definitely be listening to this one again soon!

Oh feathers!!

Oh feathers! I adore this throuple!! They’re just so imperfectly perfect! And I’ve been waiting to find out Gabriel’s backstory! The more I read, the more invested I get in this pack. The suspense and spice is perfect! I can’t wait for the next installment!

Kirt Graves is one of my favorite narrators and adds so much to the Kincaid Pack series. ❤️

The best so far

Drake is broken and scared. Jamie is naive but hopeful. Gabriel has what they need to bring them together. I think I like this one more than book 1. It was natural how they came together and became stronger together. The mystery of the bad guys and super bad behind the scenes is good too. Now there’s a new element introduced at the end. I’m ready for the next book.

Sweet, steamy, and engaging storytelling

Jamie, Drake, and Gabriel's romance had the perfect blend of sweet dates, steamy nights, and heart-pounding adventures. Kirt Graves perfectly captured the growly energy between Drake and Gabriel at the start, and Jamie's sweeter presence that balanced the two of them nicely. It was easy to fall in love with Jamie, but I'll admit that I wasn't expecting to love Drake and Gabriel as much as I did. What I initially interpreted as threatening and unapproachable was so much more than that behind the scenes. It was fascinating to delve into Drake's past trauma, learn about Gabriel's family and the reasons he had for being so guarded, and see the two of them work through their uncertainties with Jamie. Listening to the three of them come together and realize they were true mates was undoubtedly a highlight, but beyond that, seeing these men become better versions of themselves was really heartwarming. Of course, I'll never get enough of the shiver-inducing possessiveness these audios have--this shifter romance had every bit of the primal, claiming, intoxicating steaminess that I love so much. These three had chemistry off the charts, and there were a few nights they spent together that had me seriously hot under the collar.

The overall storyline of this series was as thrilling and unexpected as it always has been, and I was pleasantly surprised how the suspense built up without distracting from the romance. The Kincaid pack has so many moving pieces at this point, and I just know that when they figure out who's behind all the attacks there will be an epic quest for justice. All the little clues and puzzle pieces have me grasping at straws to see if I can figure it out first, but looks like I'll have to keep waiting to know for sure. Either way, I can happily say that this story kept me on the edge of my seat and reminded me why I love paranormal adventures so much. The connection between pack members, their familial bond and the way they never hesitated to support each other made me feel like I was part of the journey as well.

When is The Next Book?

I have completed the Kincaid books 1-4 before leaving a review. First, and foremost, Kirt Graves rocked the narrative from the beginning. I’ve had the good fortune of other books Graves has narrated, and knew his talent would enhance Kiki Clark’s Series. It did take a restart of book 1 after the first chapters for Grave’ voice to lock in my interest.
Oh my goodness am I locked in! I appreciate a narration read in a normal voice during descriptive parts w/a smooth switch to character voice when needed. Also, bravo Kirt, for getting accents exactly right!
Kiki, you have a new fan. I look forward to more series AND to the continuation of the Kincaid Clan story! 5 ⭐️’s for the excellent storyline & strong editing allowing the listener to remain in-story. 5📣’s to Kirt Graves talent! Last, but never least 5❤️’s for honest love story’s w/just enough steam.

Loved it! Love this series!

First. That cover. 🔥🔥🔥 and the perfect representation of the book’s characters.

While each book in the series covers a different couple - in this case a throuple/triad/poly - there are ongoing mystery/suspense story arcs that are developed as the series goes on. So, start at the beginning and read/listen in order.

I’ve been waiting for these guys and I’m so sucked into the Pack/Council political intrigue. Clark didn’t disappoint. This had to be my favorite so far. I listened to it in two days. This runs somewhat concurrently to Marcus & Robson’s book - but didn’t feel like a copy/paste. While there were a few scenes that were in both, because they were from completely different POVs instead of feeling repetitive it gave the story depth.

I really enjoyed getting to know Jamie, Drake, & Gabriel better. It wasn’t easy or Insta-love for them though they definitely felt a pull and poor Drake wasn’t easy to win over. I thought Clark did a good job honoring Drake’s PTSD & disability as an amputee. I also liked that there was an equal pull & respect for each other (or at least they got there.). My favorite poly are the ones where all are included and not equal exactly - but I definitely like to feel that no one is needless extra. Each guy had his own personality and they all had unique & strong relationships with each other.

I’m also a huge fan of the romantic suspense and mystery aspect of these books and this was one of the strongest in that aspect. I adore the Kincaid Pack/worldbuilding as well. It really works for me. The return from recovering Gregson’s secret message was a surprise and just leads to more mysteries.

While I’m excited for Nico & Keegan’s book (Nico has been a fun background character and I can’t wait to see what Clark has in store for him), I admit to be crushing on the hints at Doc and Damien. 🤞🏼

Narration:
Kirt Graves narration on this series has been phenomenal. Clark has a huge cast of characters and Graves has given them each a unique “voice” and it remains consistent through all the stories. The inflections, accents, register, and emotions match the writing perfectly. These are so easy to binge.

BEST BOOK SO FAR

okay so maybe thats an exageration, I really like book 1, but god I bought this so quickly when I saw the poly couple. Ever since the possibility of of one of them getting with jamie came up I kept wondering which one it would be and got confused. God damn was I happy to see someone actually write a triad instead of just a love triangle. TY author!

loving the hunt

I already loved this book but the more I hear Kirt Graves narrate the more impressed I get. His vocal quality and the depths he gives to each character is a pleasure to listen to.

I am in love with Gabriel. I have a soft spot for the bad boys that go all gooey for thier mates and he is that with a big heart. Drake and Jaime are perfect for him.. All the feels watching the three if them come together. Hints for the next book were so much fun. I can't wait!

I love the Kincaid pack.

Drake has held a special place for me ever since the first book in this series. I loved seeing how far he has come but he has some PTSD to and some physical limitations that he has to continue onto learn to overcome. Now if only he would admit that he deserves nice things, like fated mates. Jamie is all mixed up because he feels a pull towards Drake but the Hunter Gabriel also pushes his buttons. If only they could both scent Gabe, they would know for sure. This book is so good and is a great installment in this series. There are two more books and I can’t wait to see what happens and how it all works out.

Kirt Graves also does a great job with this series! He is a very good narrator.
