Nope! Did not like it. The 39yr old H had a maturity level of a horny teen. I felt the H made a lame ass Capo.

Sadist Pig vs. stupid heroine, book 2. Many people loved this book. I have tried to read this author's novels but have found that she has a particular theme in her books that I not only find demeaning, but definitively not entertaining. I've read many stories from this genre that delivered strong characters and storylines with scarred devious people. There is only so much blood letting, pain, torture and demeaning sexual abuse that an author can put in a story without having a substantial storyline to support the constant mayhem. Strong well defined characters are very important to me as a reader. I never felt a connections with either character. It boils down to personal preference whether it is reading a book or watching a movie.
Out of curiosity, I read the first chapters of this book only to find that the characters from book one continued there screwed up relationship in book 2. Michael is a sick man who re-defines the term "bi-polar" over and over in these books. His on again off again, changes in personality is predictable and repetitious. Karma was a train-wreck in book one and continues her childish/immature antics in book 2. Neither character held my attention or interest in book one (dnf) but was curious if their characters evolved in the second book. They didn't.

I’m sick of those cliff hanger endings🙄 it’s a good trick to get readers to read the other books but idc I just want this to end ugh

Oh My!!! What a ending. I need to get my hands on Mafia War as soon as its available. Karma and Michael's enemies-to-lovers dark mafia romance continues in Mafia Queen and brings more explosive climax. Dripping with mystery and betrayal seeping through the pages. Opulence of action and unexpected twists. Highly entertaining supportive characters. I love Karma's feisty personality and Michael's domineering ways. I loved it from beginning to end. Bring on Mafia War.

* A thing that was really clever and something that bothered me was prequel is free which is normal so you would be inclined to buy the rest. Then book one was 4.99€ and this one also I think, but book 3 was 5.99€ and that's something that always stops me from buying books!! I find that too expensive for me personally and especially for an author I'm not very familiar with... But it is really clever because they all end with a cliffhanger so you need to pay more..*
This was a little more mature in the sense of they didn't let their hornyness make the decisions.
I don't really know why I continue this series, because it isn't really that fulfilling for me personally..
Michael also doesn't really come over as a well feared Capo at least not in my eyes he doesn't make me feel like I need to be scared..
I liked the bound between Michael and his brothers as well as Karma with Aurora and Cassandra.
The nickname Beauty reminded me off that show with the Horse that was called Black Beauty, so for me that wasn't special, but a bit weird.

L. Steele immerses us in her Mafia world, which I do not want to leave.
This is L. Steele's second book in the Arranged Marriage series.
Book 2 picks up right where Book 1 left off, with Karma distraught over what she's done, but not everything is as it seems. Michael's feelings for her baffle her, and vice versa.
Book 2 was so engrossing that I couldn't put it down. Dark, action-packed, and spicy, the banter between the two had me laughing aloud. Reading about their relationship development left me wanting more. I also enjoyed reading about the other family members.
I'm going straight to book 3 after that.

"Just because you happen to be right about some things doesn’t mean you’re right about everything."
What was that cliffhanger?! Michael & Karma story gets better in this book. The characters develop more and more, in this book there are more brothers whose stories have yet to be told. The angst, drama, who's leaking information, and the passion keep the pages turning. I've had a good time reading cause in this book Karma and Mika have a relatively calm time for their relationship. Can’t wait to read Mafia War!

OMG!!! Another brilliant installment as Karma and Michael's story continues in this book!! I wouldn't do it justice to write a review without spoilers. So I will just say this...fantastic storyline, chemistry beyond HOT and a Capo losing his heart to Karma!!

Umm, what was that cliffhanger?! It was so unexpected that I don't know what to expect next. I can't wait for the finale of Michael and Karma's story but also didn't want it to end. These two continue challenging each other. Not going to lie, Mika is making me frustrated with how much he's still denying his feelings. I'm counting the days till he finally just say it to Karma. She deserves it for putting up for him.

Mafia Queen by L. Steele is part 2 in the Arranged Marriage series and continues where Mafia King left off!
It's hard to review this book without leaving spoilers!
Michael & Karma's story continues to literally blow you away.
It's intense throughout and the steam that evaporates leaves you breathless! Plenty of extremely hot scenes, Laxmi's talent for writing them shows up once more.
The stubbornness of both Michael and Karma is palpable and keeps you glued to the pages until you're finished.
The storyline is brilliant too and the interaction between the brothers leaves you chuckling and amused, the bond between them is beyond strong. This reminds me of the relationship between the 7 , Laxmi's characters in the Big Bad Billionaire's series.
Mafia Queen also finishes with a stormy cliffhanger which will leave you extremely anxious for Mafia War!
You better be saddled up & prepare for a maximum of emotion, it's a tough ride, but boy, so worth it!

This book starts where Mafia King left off and what a start it is. Full of suspense and more development of the relationship between Michael and Karma. I couldn't put it down. I loved it all the way from the start to the unexpected cliffhanger ending. I can't wait for Mafia Wars so I can continue on this awesome journey with Karma abs Michael.

I was hoping for better in book two but in the first chapter I was already smacking my forehead and rolling my eyes Karma goes from bashing her husbands head in and letting him drown to going to his funeral 24 hours later (Yes 24 hours later). Honestly I am thinking that when a mafia boss's wife tries to kill him twice she would not be around to make a third attempt. The characters have zero chemistry they just hate f*ck each other and Karma is just childish an annoying, I do like the relationship between the brothers and the story line has some interest to it. Most annoying and repetitive words OMG, core, lengthen.

I worked on the editing for this book so I may be biased. I think I might like this the best so far because it focuses on a relatively calm time between Karma and Mika and the developing relationship between them. Karma is making some friends and she’s beginning to see that Mika has some positive qualities (not many, in my opinion). She also gets to know the brothers better and forms a friendship with Xander, the sweetest of the brothers. Of course, it ends on another cliffhanger. Luckily for me, I didn’t have to wait to dive into Mafia War.

Second book in the series and boy does it get intense. Nothing is ever easy when your husband is the head of the mafia. And also the fact that you may of just killed him while trying to escape. That is how the second book starts and it only becomes explosive from there. The tension of love/hate between the two is smoldering. It would all be so much easier if the big tough male would just admit his feelings.

The characters and plots, settings and the stories are all so vividly well written. I highly suggest reading the BILLIONAIRES SERIES FIRST. You don’t need to, but it enriches the story here. Trust me. Billionaires fake wife SINCLAIR & SUMMER’S STORY and further on to 9+ books. But you really should read MAFIA HEIR. At least, BECAUSE it is the prologue to MAFIA KING. Ok With that said.
MICHAEL & KARMA’S STORY Mafia king is off to an amazing start. It frightened me at first because Michael makes several comments that he will kill Karma, soon or eventually but I know he won’t before creating alliances with ‘THE 7”. You must read the billionaires series to know about “THE 7” … you will get a more full picture. And by the time you are done with those 9 +books MAFIA SERIES might be complete. But neither here nor there.
Karma is Summer’s lil sis. She has medical issues, but is kidnapped my the Sovrano crime family, the mafia, the same mafia family that has been terrorizing the ladies who get with “THE 7” , the same mafia family who kidnapped and tortured “THE 7” when they were just young boys. Now they got Summer’s little sis Karma and no one knows cause Michael is using karma’s phone to send messages to Summer as karma. Not to mention Summer is so focused on her new life so believes the messages she is getting. So basically Karma is on her own! No one is gonna help her, unless Michael’s enemy can also be her friend? Karma & Summer’s father got in deep with the mafia and owes them but before he died he had promised Karma to Michael Byron Domenico Sovrano the heir apparent to the Sovrano crime family. Initially Michael had intended to kill Karma because “THE 7” continues to dig deeper & deeper into who kidnapped and tortured them and has been Tormenting the ladies of “THE 7”. It was supposed to be a “message’ for them to back off. But when Michael MR. BROODY MCBROODY PANTS. Michael Sovrano who’s middle name is BYRON ), finds Karma reading his favorite (Broody MCbroody Pants) author Lord Byron. So, instead Michael kidnaps her, Karma is forced to marry Michael. And becomes THE MAFIA QUEEN. I’ve read MAFIA HEIR, MAFIA KING this one, MAFIA QUEEN. now I loved all books leading up to MAFIA QUEEN starting with the previous Billionaire series with “THE 7”. However, Mafia Queen had started with KARMA (fmc) escaping, Michael Byron Domenico Sovrano or “MIKA” (mmc) with his brother LUCA in a speed boat. In desperation to get away she hit Mika with the oar. Then after the get away, Luca & karma hole up at a safe house, when karma hears Mika is “dead” she goes to his “funeral” only to discover there is a trap waiting for her & Luca. Luca escapes she is not so lucky. Well Karma endures some pretty horrific treatment after she is caught. There were some triggers for me. Dark is one thing. A man who claims to live you, Carving a nasty word on your body with a blade is something else! I get Karma thinks she deserves it, but when she begins to think it translates to “LOVE” I got a problem! the carving is never brought up or mentioned ever again.. nor is there any apologies THE STIRY LINE IS STILL REALLY GOOD. Until, we get to end of YET ANOTHER CLIFFHANGER !
The plot starts to resemble THE GODFATHER when Michael Corleone marries Apollonia and she wants to learn to drive, so he buys her a car and is gonna teach her. We know how that ended..if this is how LAXMI is gonna treat all books & stories from now on. Gonna have to wait till all books are done in the series or I’m gonna have to need therapy to “get over” the cliffhanger hatred I have. Probably need to increase my therapy thanks Laxmi! This is where the book ends ANOTHER CLIFFHANGER! She has never punished us before, don’t know why she thinks is ok to do so now? Just give us one full complete book at a dang! Time! Ok like KARMA & MIKA then SEB & THE DR.
AND pair off each of his brothers with a new book! Like your supposed to! Grrrrrr I hate having one book chopped up into parts I gotta wait for.
Not happy… but it is a good section of a book, yes I will continue to read ONLY because I’ve been invested in KARMA’S STORY FOR NEARLY 2 YEARS !

He literally carved the word 'whore' into her back. That was just the beginning. You think their relationship would be getting better by now? Nope. Michael is still literally the WORST. Karma is still his cum dumpster.
He spent like a week away - who knows how many of those nights with other women. He said he 'tried' to but he couldn't... so like.. how far did he get in cheating on his wife?
When she finally sees him for the first time after he carved the word into her back, instead of confronting him and standing up for herself, she just drops to her knees and blows him without him even asking her too. He has done her so wrong. Hurt her so much and he really doesn't care. He threw her away and she stays.
He hasn't done ANYTHING to show her he cares at all. He doesn't even wear a wedding ring but expects her to? I hate Michael. I hate Karma. She is only with him because of the sex and their sexual chemistry. There is no other reason for her to stay.
He is still abusive and how he treats her in this is super gross. I would've loved this if he actually cared about her. He has not shown any hint towards actually caring for her, so his treatment to her is not something good. He has been treating her somewhat nice because she is pregnant. He literally told her that he only cared because she is carrying his child (and his actions in book 3 proves that is true) Like why else would he care?
He quit having sex with her... which backs that up. After she got kidnapped, he said he wished he could take back what he had said to her and said he would make it up to her.. but he didn't do anything at all. He got her a studio and a cat to soften the blow of the tracker he put in her.... so that doesn't count
He still hurts her and hasn't apologized or made up for anything. She is a prisoner in the house. He leaves for days at a time and wont even sleep in the same room as her. So it really doesn't matter how he acts. I don't know how the author is going to redeem him. Cause as of right now... he can't be redeemed. I do not see it happening.
He sucks as a husband and would be a shit father. She still has whore carved in her back for fucks sake.

Its a good read honestly. It has held my interest this long. I just REALLY hate Michael. I am wanting to see him redeemed. I truly do... I think if he actually started making amends for all the wrong he's done to Karma, he may be able to be redeemed. But I really don't see that happening because there is just so much to atone for, I don't see how he actually can.

Michael & Karma, PT 2 of 3, It gets better!
Michael's and Karma's story (started in Mafia King) is continued in Mafia Queen, Book #2 of 3 in the Arranged Marriage Series. Note: book #4 in this series is a short (8 chapter) novella and actually a prequel to Michael and Karma's story, I would recommend reading it first, then start with book #1
This book picks up where Book #1 left off and Karma has made her escape. But information about Michael leads Karma back. After a rocky start, a crises and a discovery turns it around and things get a little easier between Michael and Karma. But there are still some issues in their relationship to deal with. Michael is treating her with more tenderness and care, but he still can't admit (to her or his brotners) that he loves her. Karma knows he loves her, she sees it in the way he treats her and the looks he gives her, but she still sometimes doubts because he hasn't said the words, so she hasn't either.
Additionally, there are enemies Michael is trying to neutralize in a peaceful manner. There are reasons he is now considering a peaceful partnership and trying to avoid a war. His priorities are changing. He also still has an errant brother who is missing and who he believes betrayed him to deal with. This book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger too. A bit, because "it" hasn't happened, only the stage has been set so you think you know what's going to happen, just not what the final outcome will be. But since "it" hasn't happened yet, we really won't know if "it" does happen or is avoided until the final book #3 (Mafia Wars). That's as close as I can get without giving any of the story away.
For those of you who DNF'd book #1bevause of the to early scenes with Michael and another woam(stewardess and maid), please know that after he and Karma have their first sexual encounter, which was right after he left the maid (before anything happened) to chase after Karma), he never looks at another woman in that way again. He is faithful to her, no cheating, so I encourage you to go back and finish reading this series.
I love these characters and I love this world. So glad there ar more brothers whose stories have yet to be told so I can revisit them all again. On to the last book, Mafia Wars! Looking forward to it!

Mafia Queen is a story of family, betrayal, vengeance and love; of secrets and lies; of mistakes, morals, grief and forgiveness. The premise is intriguing and captivating; the characters are colorful, energetic and strong; the romance is passionate, seductive and hot, but, wow, is it dark! Karma is terrified that she killed Michael, and needs to go back to check on him. Luca fights her on the idea, telling her that Michael might have survived and will be lying in wait to kill her. True to his word, there is an ambush waiting for her in the chapel, a shocking scene. Alive, but enraged, Mika shows no mercy and falls into a black part of his mind, doing things to her that should never be done. Such an unforgiving act with an unforgivable word. Karma makes excuses for him, telling herself she deserves it. Michael steps over the line and, if I were in her place, he would be gone. He says he couldn't touch the other woman? The intent was there, he's married, and that's just wrong. He went from alphahole, to asshole in one night. The story is quite witty, providing for a perfect mood changer. In the midst of a serious talk that Mika's brothers have about how he has changed because of Karma, Mika insists that he can act and dress like any normal man and points to his off-the-rack Levi's as proof. Just another day in the life of the Mafia Capo. In a last-ditch failed attempt to escape, Karma jumps from the window at the hospital where she's gone to find out why she's been so sick for so long. With her diagnosis, life changes for Mika and Karma. He begins to treat her with loving kindness, even if he can't muster up the courage to say those three little words. When he has a new Maserati delivered to Karma, he's not going to teach her to drive, but Xander will. As Karma starts the engine, her world goes black.

This was another wonderful book in the series, loved every moment of this read
Michael had not expected that his Karma would try to kill him and the actually try to run with one of his own family and he knew that there was no way she was going to get away with leaving him for dead after hitting him over the head with a boat oar.
Only she had come back to the family for the funeral but had got so much more that she could ever have expected, the truth was that she had actually fallen in love with this overbearing man that had originally taken her against her will and married her.
Then she had been kidnapped and Michael realised how much he cared for Karma and also his brothers obviously felt the same and he knew that he could not let her go, he had to keep her safe no matter what.
Then she has a surprise all of her own something that Michael had not seen coming and he had started to allow her more freedom, he had actually just started to allow her to learn to drive….
You will be left like myself waiting for the next book in this series to discover what the next chapter is for this couple and their extended family.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

Mafia Queen - Die Königin: Dark Romance | Eine arrangierte Mafia-Ehe ist der 2
Teil der Die Sovranos Reihe. Die Bücher können nicht unabhängig voneinander gelesen werden. Der erste Teil muss auf jeden Fall vorher gelesen werden. Worum es im Buch geht könnt ihr im Klappentext nachlesen. Das Ende von Teil 1 war gemein. Endlich geht es weiter. Ich wollte unbedingt wissen wie es weitergeht. Es geht auf jeden Fall spannend weiter. Die Geschichte von Michael und Karma ist absolut fesselnd und habt mich vollkommen in den Bann gezogen. Ich konnte das Buch nicht aus der Hand legen. Ich liebe die Geschichte von Michael und Karma. Michael und Karma sind zwei tolle Charaktere. Beide habe ich sofort ins Herz geschlossen. Mit Michael und Karma erlebt man ein Wechselbad der Gefühle. Für mich hat das Buch alles was man sich wünscht. Das Cover ist wunderschön. Es passt perfekt zum Buch. Das Buch wird aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven erzählt. Durch die unterschiedlichen Perspektiven kann man sich super in die Charaktere hineinversetzen. Der Schreibstil der Autorin ist absolut fesselnd und mitreißend. Auch dieser Teil hat wieder einen gemeinen Cliffhanger. Auf der einen Seite mag ich Cliffhanger, weil es spannend bleibt, aber auf der anderen Seite mag ich es nicht, weil das Buch genau an der spannenden Stelle aufhört. Ich bin so gespannt auf den nächsten Teil. Vielen Dank an die Autorin für das tolle Buch. Ich kann es kaum erwarten. Absolute Leseempfehlung. ❤️❤️❤️

I tried, I really did with this one. I read Mafia King and it was not an enjoyable experience(for me) if you enjoyed it, my words have no bearing on your reading experience or your life in general. I can only give info on what I experienced.
I wanted to read Mafia Queen because I was hoping that the story would get better, maybe? Well, it didn't. It was just hard for me to read. The heroine is every bit of her 19 years but for some reason that piece if info is forgotten in this story. They literally gas light each other until the sexual tension boils then something happens then they are back to pushing each other away while both are secretly in love with the other the entire time. He tells her he only wants the baby to have more of a chance to be the Don then he goes and tells her how he will always take care of her and this and that.
She tried to kill him, twice! Butttttttttt when she is ready for his attention its like she wants everyone to forget it ever happened. He denies sex but then does all the sexual things she wants then pushes her away again. and I am sorry but how many times can the word "had" be used in a book?
Again, my experience is not your experience so if you loved this book I am happy that you were able to enjoy it. But, I did not.

Dies ist nun der zweite Teil der unglaublichen Mafia-Reihe.
Der erste Teil endete mit eine Menge an Fragen und man will einfach nur wissen, wie es weitergeht mit dem Beiden.
Das ständige auf und ab der beiden ist unglaublich gut beschrieben. Man fiebert mit den beiden mit und doch kann man es nicht lassen mit dem weiterlesen, man muss einfach immer weiterlesen und kann das Buch nicht einfach aus der Hand legen. Was die beiden so alles erleben, muss man selber herausfinden.
Auch hier ist es wieder unglaublich, wie die Autorin es schafft einen in den Bann zu ziehen und neugierig zumachen. Auch hier wird man mit Worten gefesselt und man kann das Buch auch diesmal nicht aus der Hand legen.
Das dieser Teil auch wieder mit einem Cliffhanger endet ist ja wohl klar. Auf der einen Seite mag ich sowas nicht, aber auf der anderen Seite ist man schon auf den nächsten Teil mehr wie gespannt. Einige Fragen wurden nach dem ersten Teil geklärt und doch sind schon wieder neue Fragen dazu gekommen.
Eine ganz klare Kauf-Leseempfehlung von mir.
Die 5 Sterne hat auch dieser Teil mehr wie verdient.

Mafia Queen is book 2 of the Arranged Marriage Series by L.Steele. You must read book one Mafia King prior to because book 2 picks up right where book one left off. With the cliffy that left us wandering is he alive or not? Well you find out in book two and what happens after is beyond words. I was angry, antsy and even a little hot in my girly parts because of Michael. Is is for sure an alpha hole. Worse than most I’ve read about so far. What he does to his wife is a lot to take. Both good and bad. Then we ride along thinking it’s all going to work itself out then boom! The cliffhanger will leave you breathless. I know my heart is still pounding. Are they alive? What happened? Was there an explosion or what? It’s all just to much and I don’t wanna wait to see what happens next…but I must. I know L. Steele won’t let me down. Now to not so patiently await book 3. Mafia Wars. I received a free advanced copy to read and review.

All of a sudden she wants to run again. Her back and forth actions toward Mika makes no sense. She is genuinely unpleasant and demanding. She demands a car. She demands a cat. She is acting like a child.
>Mika’s character is the better of the two in this book. He struggles to trust. His brothers, especially Xander, try to get him to communicate better with his wife. He no longer has other women. Mika is growing a conscience.

This was a great read! I loved reading more about Karma and Michael and all of Michael’s brothers. This book truly had it all including some very fiery and passionate moments between Karma and Michael. There was lots of action so you don’t have an opportunity to get bored but with great characters the likelihood of that happening is non existent. Such an overwhelming roller coaster ride of emotions and wondering why Karma and Michael insist on trying to tear each other apart when in reality they both love each other and are just too stubborn to admit the truth. The ending was amazing and my heart was racing with each word and I felt like I was left stranded on a ledge. Cannot wait for Mafia War and the continuing story in this amazing series.

Once again, my mind was blown !
This next part was so full in surprises, on so many levels, that I bearly manage to put this book down !
Still funny as hell, while they tangle in a web of unsaid things, which always provide great dialogues, and laughable moments !
Also, I really liked to discover more some characters .
Andy, for starters... 😸
But I really have a soft spot for Cassandra and Aurora. And I really hope Aurora play a bigger part in the next books, because she seems really strong and brave, and she literally took the bet to might have to sacrifice herself for doing the right thing, and considering the situation, it's not a light decision at all !
'Xander appearances, also made me laugh so hard !
Anyway, I'm going to read Summer story before reading the third book, just so I can aware everything for the Christmas meeting ! 🎉🤯

This story picks up straight up where book one left off with Karma finally free of Michael but she’s not really. She’s not ready to say goodbye and to find out that the whack to Michael’s head may be a bit more permanent than she intended well it’s time to face the music and the Family. And what a fright she had at the ‘funeral’, ultimately Michael and Karma can’t keep away from each other despite the start they had and could not let each other go. Karma was Michael’s be all and end all and despite an unconventional start her safety and well-being are everything to him and consequently his brothers. I enjoyed how Karma developed a relationship with the brothers given how she and Michael have been known to get a little bit violent with each other!
All goes well until Karma decides that she wants more freedom and lean how to drive….wow what a cliffhanger.

I'm so glad that Michael and Karma had a other book but really that cliffhanger..... I need to read at least the first chapter now. The relationship between Michael and Karma is intense and love. Even though Michael is fighting his feelings for her all of his brothers can see him changing for the good. He is realizing that even though he has goal all of his life to be this Capo, he is realizing that he doesn't have to use violence. Karma is dealing with her own emotions. She doesn't think Michael loves her but she is slowly seeing the changes her self and is questioning it. The relationship between Michael and his brothers are the best. I love the banter between Micheal and Karma, however I love the banter between the brothers as well. Aurora and Christian seems kinda of interesting to see what is going on there ....
