He’s the student, but I’m about to get the biggest lesson of my life.

A lesson of love.

When I first saw him in my classroom, he took my breath away.

When he walked into my theatre, he grabbed my soul.

And when he walked into the bar, he took my heart. With a single kiss.

But he’s afraid I can’t commit to him. He thinks he’s an experiment because I’ve been straight all my life. He thinks he’s a rebound because I just broke up with my fiancée. He thinks I’m crazy.

But I’m not. I just found my Missing Linc.

Missing Linc is the fourth book in Rhys Everly’s steamy, low-angst, teacher/student romance series, A Proper Education.
It contains a not-so straight teacher, a trans masc guy who’s barely legal, and high levels of steam and cuteness.

sigh...

Linc annoyed me in Your Only Fan and unfortunately he was even more annoying here. From the previous book we know that his fiancée is super controlling, and here we get to see just how much of a homophobic bigot she really is. The way it reads here is that Linc's final straw, what pushes him to dump her, is when she insults his directing...

Another great audio.
I'm really glad that Rhys wrote Linc's story because although I enjoyed Your Only Fan, this is better.

I’m reviewing the audio edition. This series is about teacher/student stories. This one made me laugh quite a bit. Linc is a professor and engaged but is feeling that it is not working out. When Cam accidently gets the wrong class and meets Linc the fun begins. Cam just has that charisma that can charm most anyone. He sure left an impression on Linc. Later when they meet again, things get a little out of control. When Cam is afraid he is a rebound relationship, it takes quite a bit on Linc’s part to prove that wrong. Linc’s ex and Cam’s sister rounded this story out to make it fun. I feel this is the best of the series. Again thanks to John York’s narration for bringing the characters to life.

This is the last book in the series. I started off reading the first book for a book club, but the characters kept me coming back. Linc shows up in book 3 and now we get his story. Linc starts off the book engaged, but that relationship isn't meant to last. After his relationship ends, he starts to figure out who he really is. It is a little steamy but not as much as previous books.

Performance: 4 Stars
Story: 4 Stars

Theater professor Linc is magnetically drawn to college student Camden, despite being engaged, a teacher, and considering himself straight. And the intense attraction is mutual.

What ensues, as Cam is cast in the play Linc is directing, is a playful and steamy sexual awakening for newly single Linc. Their age-gap romance verges on insta-love and is all very low-angst, without any personal or emotional struggles on either side, and their relationship is quite sweet, tender, and passionate.

Narrator John York has made this series all the more enjoyable in audio, and he delivers another engaging performance here. He really captures Cam's energy, humor, and spunkiness.

Not to focus on labels, but I find it curious this book is currently being marketed as a bi-awakening romance (at least, it is on the 'zon) when Linc himself comes to self-identify as pansexual and this story is largely his journey of self-discovery. Also, fair warning that there's a bit of on-page homophobia courtesy of Linc's ex, and the f-word is tossed out both in anger and in jest by different characters.

Some peeks into Linc's backstory occur in Book 3 of this series but it's not necessary reading to appreciate this story. I received this free review copy audio book by request and have left this honest review voluntarily.

This was lots of fun, Cam is sunshiny but snarky, smart and adorable... Linc is so in need of love and laughter in his life, he's supportive and sensitive, they are perfect together and it's a very quick and easy fall into romance & relationship... despite there being some challenges it's ultimately a lovely low-angst romance 💞

F2M trans plus pansexual love very nicely handled, well done to the author and his sensitivity readers.

Hooray to the wide ranging arts coverage across this series 🎭🎨💅🕺

Great cast of supporting characters from previous books in the series, some crossover into Cedarwood Beach, expansion of previously mentioned side characters, and also some new side characters who are likely to get their own series in the future... quite a bit packed into this compact story.

Be sure to read the bonus epilogues, I'd probably recommend reading the Issac/Ezra & Linc/Cam epilogues after reading Missing Linc... the books in this series do kind of overlap a bit, especially the last two.

🎧 As with other books in the series John York's characterisations are great but sadly there were quite a few annoying mispronunciations here too, so yeah, overall good but not great 🎧

Linc gets a book!

I kind of liked Linc in Your Only Fan where he was Isaac’s best friend; I was happy that he got his own story. You can probably enjoy this as a standalone but I think you’ll enjoy it more if you read Your Only Fan first. In that book we learn how much of a witch Linc’s girlfriend is. Missing Linc finds Linc single after dumping his long-time girlfriend. Linc makes a great connection with Camden who isn’t his student but they are involved in a stage production together.

Camden is trans and Linc knows that and it doesn’t make any different to him; he’s attracted to the person. I don’t know much at all about being trans but this story seemed like it treated the subject with respect. Camden wasn’t upset when Linc asked questions. This was shorter than other books in this series but still told a complete story. It was also very spicy but not quite as flaming hot as the previous books.

John York did another great job narrating the audiobook.

Missing Linc is part of A Proper Education series. I was hoping Linc would get his own story after reading/listening to Your Only Fan, another book in this series. After what Linc went through he deserved his happy ending. Though I know he never thought he'd be added to the teachets who fall for their students. Cam was just the refreshing change Linc needed. Someone who didn't want to change him. And though Linc wasn't sure at first of his feelings for Cam, he soon gave into the possibility that he and Cam could be happy together, if he just opened himself up. I recommend this book and series.
Narrator John York does another marvelous job in this series.

Another great story by Rhys. When Linc appeared in Your Only Fan, it was clear he needed his story, and Rhys definitely delivered. Linc and Cam are so perfect for each other and are exactly what the other one needs. Of course there are some hot & Steamy scenes as well as some laugh out loud and emotional moments. This book has it all. It can be read as a standalone, but it's so much better to at least read Your Only Fan first. I highly recommend the entire series, since all the books are amazing!

When Linc and Cam meet there are fireworks. It's instant attraction. Cam's there and gone in a second. Linc is left to think about him and see the flaws in his relationship. Linc's fiancee is all wrong for him on every level. They are the couple in the Hallmark movies, the ones you wonder why they ever got together in the first place. Who the hell knows how they made it 7 years?! Being with Cam is totally different, Linc is different with Cam. I enjoyed their easy connection, how they clicked from the first. I've only read a few trans stories but I loved this one. I'll read again!

Guts and Heart

Linc and Camden's first meeting was perfect: you have to have guts and heart. From their very brief first meeting, Linc can't get Camden out of his mind, but he doesn't like men right? Camden also can't stop thinking about the sexy professor whose class he accidentally stumbled into. Fate brings them together when Camden auditions for a play Linc is helping with. A few meet-cutes later and the rest is history. It was nice seeing Linc get his HEA and Camden is such a sweetheart. And oh wow! The hot and heavy scenes were sizzling.

This book is delightfully steamy!
I love this series so much, each book is a treat! Each in its own right is delightfully naughty and a bit forbidden… as Cam himself says in the book, this college has “a suspiciously large number of students that are in relationships with teachers”.
The book is very low-angst, sweet and funny. I loved both Cam, with his internal monologues and freak-outs and Linc, who, once he understands what and who he wants, stops at nothing to win Cam over!

Read this book!

This book was fantastic!

This book depicts a trans MC that is 100% themselves and comfortable communicating their needs, it was so wonderful to see. The comfort Cam has in his own skin is something I imaging most people would envy. I know I do.

This whole book was everything I adore in a pleasurable to read novella, utterly in love (…and not fighting it too hard) characters, and a big HEA.

This book will live in my head for a while.

Oooof this one really irritated me. I couldn’t get into the MC linc, he was annoying and I didn’t connect with him at all. The other MC, cam was okay. I enjoyed his confidence of being a trans and I liked the representation of a trans character but that was about it. The insta love wasn’t for me and the end confused me. I want a neatly wrapped up ending in an epilogue and they introduced a new plot line in the epilogue and I just didn’t like it. This one wasn’t for me unfortunately.

Great story, but different, very hot, and some surprises

There’s love and affection throughout, sex with passion, some funny moments, I liked this new word in ‘bigottest bigot’ that fits perfectly. Cam is complicated and very easy to like. Linc goes through a 180deg revelation moment, after that a HEA is unavoidable.

Meh

TW: mention of transphobia, mention of conversion camps, internalized homophobia, controlling ex-partner

This was just meh. Linc was very frustrating and kind of annoying with the constant reminders of him NOT being gay. Although the relationship was just ok, the development happened too fast. On the plus side, the trans rep is fantastic.

A beautiful story touching on transgender and a man awakening to his sexuality. Cam is a young trans-man, Linc is straight with a fiancee, things wobble the minute he lays eyes on Cam when he walks into Linc class. This author created a respectful, amazing story here, a lovely read.

Trans Rep
Teacher (director)/student
Bi awakening

I wasn't overly fond of Linc when he appeared in the last book. He was too manipulated and controlled by his fiance (female). Also, some of his comments made me think he was homophobic despite having a gay roommate. I decided to listen to it though knowing from the blurb that he obviously changes.

The book got off to a rough start for me with all the things I just mentioned from the last book carrying over into this book but luckily that didn't last too long so I'm only leaving off a star for that. Other than that I really enjoyed this story, way more than book 2 but less than book 3. I haven't read book 1 yet.

This was a quick listen that was interesting from start to finish. It was pretty well written and the subject matter was handled sensitively. It was sweet and fun and low angst. The characters were great. Linc even grew on me. He really found himself in more ways than just his sexual orientation. They had great chemistry and the scenes were really steamy.

Narration = 5 stars

The narrator did a great job. They had a pleasant reading voice, expressed the emotions well and used different voices for the characters making it easy to tell them apart and making it a very pleasant listening experience.

Missing Linc

Linc and Cam

This was a shorter read than the previous books in this series. However, it didn't really take away from enjoying reading Lincs book, especially since getting to meet him in the others.

This might be my favorite. Cam was just super adorable, sweet and funny. Linc was sort of annoying and at times i wasn't sure he was right for Cam, but then he would do the sweetest things. His ex-girlfriend was a pill he should have dropped a long time ago.

Another student and Professor pairing. Glad Linc found himself. Cam was the refresh that Linc needed and didn't even know.

How did no one involved with the production of this book realize how racist this title is when one of the MCs is Black?

I love the way the Camden and Linc just seem to fit together from the beginning. Despite dealing with a crazy ex there are able to work through things and really build a relationship with each other.
