Review
It is a fantastic read, and a great 'opener' to a new series. If you love the Dresden Files, but are wondering what to read while Jim Butcher writes his next book, this might be the series for you.
Losing sleep because the story is so hard to put down!
I am already attached to all of the characters, the world is fascinating, and the author has set up lots of interesting questions to be answered in future books.
Great read. Could not put this story down. Once I read the first page I had to keep on reading. So many plots. I could get lost in a side story if I was not carful. I like the pixie the best.
The characters grew, the plot thickened, the timeline flowed, and the magic was in the words.
Stephanie Foxe writes the best stories with the best characters that you just do not want it to end.
Stayed up way past a respectable hour to finish this.
I really love this author. She has a way of taking a concept and making it her own. I love the fresh take on werewolf society and the other supernatural races.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 26, 2018This is a great book.
It is a fantastic read, and a great ‘opener’ to a new series. If you love the Dresden Files, but are wondering what to read while Jim Butcher writes his next book, this might be the series for you.
The opening premise is simple: three individuals are all bitten by a Werewolf while attending a concert. Now that they are werewolves, they have to learn how to fit in to the structure of werewolf society. The (previously) strangers are now bound together into a pack because of the events at the concert. Unfortunately, under shifter law, their actions are illegal. This pack of misfits must now navigate supernatural political intrigue, whilst trying to survive various attacks on their employment, their housing, and their very lives!
Each character is well defined, and likeable. Each character has flaws as well as strengths, and each has an interesting back story that may lead to interesting plot lines in future books. There are a number of interesting and arcane questions that are posed (but not answered) in this book. Obviously, these questions will be resolved in future books within the series. I’m already waiting for the next book in the series, to see how the author will answer these questions.
I LOVE this book!!! I don’t want to wait for the next book - I want to read it right now!
If you like books with a supernatural theme, and a deft sense of humour, then purchase this book right now!!!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2018For a novel with a pace that moves like a tornado through a trailer park, the characters are remarkably well done. The plot hits the characters repeatedly about the head and body in a frenzy of life altering events and yet the author manages to weave their history, personality, and desires into the whirlwind without it seeming like a cheap coat of paint on a card board cut out.
This is not the story for anyone who likes to stop and savor the scents of the garden, or smell the damn roses. Nope, this is dodging the debris in the tornado. Overall, the characters are solid enough to carry the story. Consistent, likable, and you want them to survive from the moment you meet them. The plot is simple enough to be the storm shelter in the tornado but without any real villains - the "bad guys" aren't really bad and I found the "villains" to be more speed bumps that real villains. The whole novel revolves around the characters coming together for survival against the impersonal systems that society has in place to deal with people like them. Only yesterday they were completely different people. But today, they are different and now they have to play by a different set of rules, and of course nobody bothered to write those rules down.
This is the first book in the series, and I liked the second book as well.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2018I picked up this book because I had enjoyed the Chaos Mage series the author co-wrote with her husband. Enjoyed the first two books in that series and decided to see what Ms. Foxe was doing on her own. The Misfit Pack was even better than the Chaos Mage series, which I had totally enjoyed. An interesting world created by the author, and a fast paced but gripping story. You get brief glimpses into the dysfunctional lives lead by the protagonists, enough to explain the bonding into a pack situation. But it also leaves you hungering to know more of their background, which to me makes me hunger for the next book in the Misfit Pack series. Loved the actual and hinted future relationships among the pack members and the wide potential for new directions the story could take. Well written, and well edited and a story that flowed seamlessly. I love a book that I don’t want to put down, and admit to losing a little sleep over this one before finally putting the ending off till the next day. I’ll snap up the next book for sure. Nice to be able to escape to a different world so different from our own, and yet displaying the same flaws as well.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2018I thoroughly enjoyed the Misfit Pack. It takes the werewolf storyline in a fresh and interesting direction. None of the members of the pack chose to become werewolves, it was just something that kind of happened to them. Now this small group of total strangers suddenly has to learn to bond together to navigate and survive the world of supernaturals. The characters themselves are well thought out and well developed. They grabbed my interest right away and held onto it for the duration of the story. The world building is also top notch. The scenery and the various groups that inhabit it feel natural and believable. There is plenty of action and it's nicely paced. There are also plenty of unanswered questions to keep my interest for the next story. I would definitely recommend Misfit Pack.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 20214.5 of awwwwww!
It felt a little rough to be a straight up five stars but it certainly felt like it. I loved it. The beginning had me wondering because of all the multiple POV but then it flowed and unfolded and I really love the emphasis on pack and feeling like you belong. Actually belonging.
There were a lot of different stuff going on. The world built up to have magic existing, it was great and it set the mood right. I liked Amber. She wasn’t perfect, none of them were, and I liked that I could see them grow by the end. The writing did make me feel like I wasn’t drowning in them (when I usually wanna drown in them lol) but it was consistent. The characters were interesting. The trials were fun to witness. The packs more so. I feel like there’s a lot of heart for me to latch onto and that’s where the wholesome feels come from.
Overall a recommended read and a book I actually really enjoyed without irritation. This is a new author for me and I hope to read more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ever imagine a curse being a good thing?
Wow! This book has it all—angst, courage, betrayal, love (not the romantic type). The character development and plot twists are phenomenal, as is the way the author has blended fantasy and reality. Can’t wait for the second book!

It was great reading how those very different personalities, so lost and lonely, finally matched together. Awaiting impatiently for the following story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyed this book
I was hesitant to buy this book as I have recently read a few that just weren't quite my style even if they sounded like I would like them. I liked this book but it is not a heavy going book, light intrigue, development of characters and world building and plot is the impression I got.
The story follows a newly formed pack and the issues surrounding strangers suddenly having bonds and the inevitable challenges they have to overcome.
I did think it was a bit light on details but I hope the author is setting everything up for further books. You get a sense that more is going in the authors plan for the series through snippets that are mentioned but not fleshed out. It made me a bit frustrated that they were there, but not explained further, until I realised that there must be a second book on the way. Some characters are there but not fully explored either I am hoping that the next book will sort it out. This book really was a lot of self realisation/finding their path in life for the main 4 mentioned, and to set up the series.
I will be buying the next book as I am curious as to where the author is heading.
