    All the action and adventure you would expect from this author jam packed with twists and turns you didn’t see coming. Mr. Stokes takes you on a wild ride through New York City battling the worst nightmare that could ever happen. Good thing Seth has his friends to help him. They save his life more than once. Plus, Kasey is here to add her support as they all battle vampires and Rhain, King of the Feudal Court who turns Madison Square Gardens into a literal bloodbath. But that’s not the end of his fight. He also faces the Winter Sidhe to save his betrothed, Lara, and his friend Dizzy. But he suffers a major injury which may leave his arm permanently damaged. Only time will tell. But wait! There’s more to come in the next adventure of Seth and his search for a cure to his birthright. Let’s hope this next one sticks.

    When Seth was at the Trial of Ares, he found a lead that might cure the Caldwell curse. Now he needed to do two things after delivering the katana to Sakura, Tadashii’s daughter: first, get to New York City and find Kasey Chase, and second, help with the Vampire attack on New York City. He thought this would be easy until they touched down at the private airstrip and Vampires attacked the plane. Seth, Murdock, Lara, and Dizzy were unsure how they would make it out of this one alive. The hanger and plane were damaged, the attackers seemed to be coming out of the woodwork. Seth decided to get their own help; he told Murdock to see if the Brotherhood had any men in the area that could help them out.

    It was not a call he wanted to make, but they did not have much choice and knew that the help would come at a price. When the help arrived, together they fought off the vampires, and then they were loaded into the SUV’s and off they went to see the head of the Brotherhood, and the story begins.

    Join Seth, Lara, Murdock, and Dizzy as they join forces with Kasey in the fight with the vampires and hopefully a significant lead to stopping the curse…

    What did I like? Sam Stoke has the gift of crafting the most exciting books in his fingers as they dance over his keyboard. From the Kingdom in Chaos to Conjuring a Coroner to this Half-Blood series, Sam has never missed a step in keeping the tension high, the characters extraordinary, and the books coming.

    Well, finely a cure for the family curse? Maybe or maybe not quite. In some ways this was a repeat from Kasey’s journey. Some of the repeated scenes were burned in my mind but from Seth point of view. He struggled a bit more with his vulnerability to not only the curse but the journey this time and is just tired. He is worried about his father’s morality and his future responsibilities and what will be expected of him. It is also shown what is going to be expected of him in the future and he is not sure he wants it. Sounds mundane but those thoughts and feelings are intertwined with all sorts of other intricate pieces of the story line which makes it a good addition to the adventure.
    He is given not only information for his friends and own life but a bit of insight into how important Kasey is as well. It was nice to have the two stories connect and put them together. Making an intertwined story-line. This makes me want to read on even more. The characters structures are becoming quite mature as well with this way of connecting. Over-all a good read and addition and gave a lot of answers as well as hints for the future. Thank you Sam for allowing me to once again review your books so I can tell others about your fun books. Can’t wait to see what is next.
