I have enjoyed all the previous reads in this Dark Mafia Romance series by this author but this one fell a bit short.
Kane is a hired assassin and ends up taking a protection detail for Danika, the wife of a senator that has just been murdered. Danika has her secrets and so does Kane, and their attraction to each other, ends up exploding between them…in a good way. But what will happen when she learns the truth about Kane and how will he react when he finds out Danika’s secret.
A short, quick, steamy read but it was missing details that would have wrapped up the story nicely. One being, what happens to her step daughter and the other, where do they go? It seems to end abruptly and a few paragraphs would have tied it up nicely. I did like these two, they did have chemistry and the secrets were not all that hard to figure out….which I didn’t mind….3.5 stars
