In love with one twin, bonded by fire to the other. Welcome back to Arcturus Academy.

I survived my first semester, but it's not getting easier. I adore Gage, so why do I share a mage-bond with Ryan, a bully who keeps trying to blackmail me and might get both of us killed? He's like a hydra. Whenever I diffuse one plot, another springs up in its place. How long can this go on before he gets what he wants?

Fire Trap is the second book in the Arcturus Academy young adult fantasy series. Listen to talented voice artist Marni Penning read Fire Trap and let the sparks fly!

So far I’ve had no joy slogging through “Academy” books. Too much teenage angst, too many “mean girls”. It’s unusual to get more than halfway... and then along came Saxony. Finished the first two books in record time and now I am anxiously awaiting the third. Abby Knorr is a truly a wonderful, engaging, and captivating writer. Maybe, just maybe, I should give the sub-genre another chance. Thank you so much for sharing your remarkable talent, Abby.

Saxony is a well-developed character with admirable qualities, but she also has her share of character flaws, which are necessary to make the character believable, real. The secondary characters are also multi-dimensional, especially Gage and his "evil twin", Ryan. Even the subordinate characters are real.

In spite of being Burned, and a level 5 mage, Saxony does not have it easy. She has her detractors and enemies, and is often engaged in life-threatening situations.

I have read every one of Abby's novels and have loved them all. And even though they are free to borrow on Kindle Unlimited I have bought all of them--I want them in my collection to re-read. One thing I love about all of her novels is she doesn't waste words; concise and to the point with no boring filler but enough detail to give the novels real body.

Enjoy catching up with Saxony. She did not do quite so much training in this book. There was a lot more intrigue and new friends. I liked how she got to know more of her teachers and seemed as if they respected her a lot . Was sad as to how her being Burned got outed.
Some of the play into the circle of her girlfriends from home was lost, would have loved to have more than a paragraph on them. That is such a wonderful mix we need to keep them with each of the girls. Which is why I have it 4stars

This book was an amazing surprise coming out two weeks after the first one - which is just as well, because I almost screamed with the past cliffhanger! In this book we got to see how Saxony has handled the blackmail from her crush's twin brother - and while that sentence sounds cliche now that I read it, the book is far from one. Saxony makes some really unexpected choices. And in the end, the blackmailer is a genius. A psychopath, but a genius nonetheless. The author is incredibly creative and her writing style is awesome - the characters are wonderfully developed and the plot has twists and turns you will NOT see coming. Luckily, this cliffhanger is easier to bear. I'm going to wait patiently until the middle of December to see just how much more of a psychopath that dude gets and how Saxony helps herself from erasing him off the front of the planet. (She wouldn't, she's a nice girl. But that dude... he deserves it!).

Second book in the series where Saxony learns the ins and outs of using her elemental powers.

The first book sets the stage for the rest of the series, but has plenty of action. Saxony got on the outs with the rest of the students because of the lies and manipulations of one of the other students, whose dangerous ambitions involve Saxony.

Now in this book, she starts her second semester worrying about the threat from the first book, while still dealing with highschool and her elemental classes. We get to watch as she gets more control over her fire, but will she fall into the firetrap?

Plenty of the plot twists that the author is noted for as Abby-Lynn Knorr never disappoints,

As Saxxony's story of being a fire mage and learning about her new powers while going to a Mages school continues. While also finishing her Senior year of high school and trying to fit in as a foreign student. Along with having to be targeted by her boyfriend's twin for blackmail and harassment. She puts up with the usual teenager angst, drama, cattiness, with excitement, adventure and some intrigue thrown in for fun! LOL! You'll be unable to put this book down till you're done reading it! I can't wait to read the last story!

Enjoying the books, I may be a old lady but I don't miss the rampant sex you get from most adult books. Nice clean reading. Keep putting more good reads!

This is such a good story!  The plot is very well written and the story itself is really entertaining.  This author has an incredible imagination.  You won’t be sorry to buy this book.

In this segment of the series, Ryan tries unsuccessfully to blackmail Saxony into helping him through a burning. When he threatens to out her as burned, Saxony attempts to deflate his threat by telling the headmaster. The headmaster decides to tell the whole school, effectively stripping the weapon from Ryan. Ryan then attempts to use April to force Saxony to comply. Then suddenly April looses hey fire. This is completely unheard of in the Magi world. April is thrilled though....
Ryan is so determined though, he sets Saxony up in a situation that forces her to save him from burning. The larger plot advances nicely in several areas. I'm interested to figure out what happened to April's fire, the relic, and several other things as well!

Within this second book in the Arcturus Academy series, Saxony's burned status is revealed, the dastardly Ryan plays further tricks to gain his dream, and Headmaster is struggling with personal tragedy. Plenty going on, lots of unanswered questions that I really want to know the answers to. In to book three.

Continuing her studies as a Fire Mage, Saxony's adventure at Arcturus Academy are full of mystery and intrigue this semester which have me dying to know more! Her fiery strong willed nature drives the story while her nemesis is tenacious in his persistence to crumble her walls in the pursuit of more power.
