We've won the battle, but not the war.

He's still out there and his threat is haunting me day and night.
The only way to defeat my father, is to best him.

I sacrificed the love of my life for him.

I hope it wasn't all for nothing.
I hope I can find out what he's planning before it's too late.
Before he unleashes hell on earth.
Because if he does, it will all have been for nothing.
And everyone I love will die anyway.

I have to stop him. No matter what it takes.

Elven Heir is the last book in this gay urban fantasy romance and ends in a happy-ever-after.

The stakes went from high to ridiculous. And the ending felt strange. Way too convenient and yet slightly confusing. I feel like I still don't know what happened in the last couple of chapters
The romance was a delight, the adventure plot lost me though

“He was my soulmate. He was my everything.” What a journey we’ve been through with Jude and Roman. Monster battles, betrayals, twists and turns, wonderful friendships, and a love that knows no end. I don’t know who I’ll miss more, these two or Royal and Darling. I really love those changelings. They add an extra sparkle to this world. I gotta say I wasn’t sure how everything would play out, and there were times I worried, but I should have know that together Roman and Jude can do anything, and they are especially crafty in this one. Plus, you can’t help but be happy when they are. Must be that elven magic.

So this is the conclusion of this trilogy. It is darker than the first two installments and the protagonists experience a great deal of angst, almost too much for me. Luckily, somehow the author stays just this side of lightness. I can accept the way it ended and overall…I think that’s all I can say.

Changing Things Forever.

MM, Urban Fantasy, Romance. Easy to read page-turner, not a stand-alone read, needs to be read in series order due to story continuing on throughout the series. Thoroughly enjoyed catching up and finding out what happened next. Fast paced plot with the action and drama continuing, lots of twists and turns but they finally get their HEA.

This is an amazing ending to this series. I love Jude and Roman's story! This is an action packed filled story that I just love. Definitely need to read the other books before this one but you will not be disappointed. Rhys Lawless has made such an amazing story.

I listened to the finale of the Monster Hunter series and loved it.
It finished out strongly with all the threads tied up and with a satisfying ending. Really, Jude, that was some impressive working.
The audio was great. John Solo is a solid narrator who is easy to listen to.

As always, Rhys knows how to tell a story. This is the 3rd, and final, installment of Roman & Jude's story, and you definitely need to read what came before. Be prepared not to put this book down once you start. This is definitely my favorite of the series!

The whole series was mediocre. The world building was minimum in my opinion with no concrete reasons for things that happened. I did like the mcs but the waffling of I can do it and I can't do it/I'm useless was getting on my nerves. There's too much woe is me and not enough confidence. The ending was very meh... The series had potential but the execution was very boring. All in all, an average series but won't be doing a re-read and probably won't try other books from this author.

This is the final book in this series and I'm so sad since it is such a great series. The previous must be read since it's a continuous story.
Jude and Roman have their hard earned happily ever after. And boy did they fight for their love and happiness. They took us in a journey full of monsters (of all kind), betrayal, action, suspense, twists and turns, sweet and tender moments, steamy moments, and love. Roman and Jude's doubts, worry, and self-worth were on full display in this book, showing the vulnerable side of their usual tough monster fighting face. I wanted to smack Jude a couple of times, trying to be strong and do it all alone. But he came to his senses, saving him from my yelling, lol. Also, Roman didn't give up and ensured Jude realized he didn't have to do it alone. Their relationship becoming stronger and more devoted to each other and their made family. Royal continues to be perfectly cute and loved that he has a connection to both Jude and Roman. A connection that came in handy a couple of times. Jude's father...ugh...hated him even more in this book, such an evil power hungry man. But like I said it's a HEA so Keenan got his reward 😁.
The story is well paced, full of suspense, twists and turns, and action. It also had some emotional tender moments that touched your heart and made you want to cry.

I have really enjoyed this series, and MCs Jude and Roman. From the beginning, these two were solid and fated to be together. They each forgot that sometimes. Jude got something of a martyr 'I must do this alone to save those I love' complex, while Roman allowed self-doubt and a bit of inferiority complex to bog him down. Made me want to smack them both sometimes. Eventually, and with a bit of help from their friends, they remember they are better together. This has been a phenomenal series as Roman and Jude start out 'knowing' who the monsters are and then find that all they believed in is messed up. Who are the real monsters? So many twists and turns. The ending came as a bit of a surprise to me, but it was perfect. Everyone pretty much got what was coming to them in the end. That said, I didn't 'hate' Keegan. He became a monster, but without the Elven Duty and the awful things done to him as a child to 'protect' the world, his fate might have been different. Of course, then we wouldn't have this great story.😁

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Performance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have loved the Monster Hunter series and this book is a great finale. Jude and Roman are lovable characters and the beginning of this book was pretty heartbreaking. It picks up right where the last volume left off, so I recommend listening to the books in order.
Roman and Jude are trying to find and also defeat Jude's father Keenan. But this is not an easy mission. What I liked a lot were Royal and Darling, as in the last volume - you just have to like those two.
Otherwise, the story entertained me well: There was a lot of action and drama, heartbreak, but also fights and emotions as well as unexpected twists. I liked the world-building, in which there are many battles to save the world as Jude and Roman know it.

John York is a fantastic narrator. He has a pleasant voice and I enjoyed his performance. He did a super job portraying the characters with all the emotions, bringing the story to life.

I really don't want to give much away as this is the final book in the series! I am, though, fully ok to say that it's a fabulous read and finishes off the series with a great amount of drama and action as Jude and Roman battle to finally defeat Keenan, Jude's father. Yes, this is a series to be read in order due to the series story arc.
We were left on a cliffhanger at the end of book two, as Jude decided it's best to break things off with Roman after being threatened by Keenan (luckily for me this is recapped in the first couple of chapters as I don't have the best memory). There's support from their friends Issa and Hendrix, Otis is called on to help out with his technical know how and, of course, my favourites, Royal and Darling, are back.
Fans of the series have a fast paced, packed finale to look forward to as there are more monsters to be killed, family to fight with and a evil madman to defeat.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

The ultimate HEA for our fated elves, Jude and Roman. However before they can claim it they have to battle the ultimate evil, otherwise known as Jude’s father Keenan. Jude’s original plan doesn’t pan out, but they realize they are stronger together than they ever would be apart. Keenan comes to the same conclusion and tries to use that to his advantage. It works, but only to make Jude more determined than ever. If they are to win the fight they must both use their strengths against an increasingly unstable Keenan. This is not a standalone, but must be read after the first 2 books to understand the characters and overreaching arc of the series. If you enjoy paranormal books than this series is definitely worth a read.

Great ending to a great series. Jude & Roman are back after saving Manhattan but not together. After the war in Manhattan Jude breaks up with Roman because Jude's dad threatens Roman's life. Roman is still hunting monsters but pining for Jude. Things in "Monsterland" do not get better, unfortunately Daddy Dearest has his own agenda but in order to do this he needs the help of Jude & other Elves to do his bidding, but not without force. There's kidnapping, monster bashing, love making, all you need to make a perfect book series ending. I was offered an ARC for an honest opinion. This was a great series, WTG Rhys!

Elven Heir is the final fight in the trilogy, simply put fantastic!! Jude and Roman have to defeat Jude’s father. They’ll need all their friends to fight him, but Jude thinks he needs to handle it alone. In order to get the full gist of the ongoing story line, you really need to read the first two in the series! I literally couldn’t put the story down. Overall, fantastic! The story was really well written, the pacing flowed smoothly, highly recommend. The story is sooo freakin engaging, it’s a struggle to stop reading it.

This is the third and final installment of the Roman and Jude Monster Hunters trilogy.

Once Rhys Lawless knows how to do it best.

I most definitely did not see that twist near the beginning of the book. As usual this book was action packed like the first two books in this series.

These books are not standalones either and need to be read in order.

Roman and Jude most definitely got their very swoony HEA as well.

OMG. What a series. This is the third and final book and they must be read in order as it is a continuous story arc. The pain of what happened is still affecting Roman even 7 weeks later. This is how both Roman and Jude overcame all to be able to be together. Loved it and so happy there was an epilogue years in the future. Cannot wait to read more from the author.

I received a copy of this book for my review.

I really like this book as the conclusion of this series. This book has a little of everything- passion, sweetness, and action. I have been fond of Roman and Jude throughout the series, and I really enjoy seeing them get their HEA. I love their friends and changelings as well. This is a fun series and definitely needs to be read as such.

Definitely creative, fun world building. There's just something about this author's writing style though that feels clunky, so I end up skimming big chunks or getting frustrated with it when I don't... but clearly not frustrated enough to DNF since I've finished both his series now and, overall, enjoyed them both 🤷‍♀️

Wonderful ending

I really don't expect how everything ending but it fit. It wasn't an easy thing to accomplish but it was exactly what was needed, all in all a fantastic ending to the series.

Elven Heir is the conclusion of the Star-Crossed series and it is full of action and intrigue. Jude is having a hard time coming to terms with the revelation of who is father is and what his own powers are. He worries that he will turn into a power-hungry maniac like his father. He is convinced he has to go it alone to take on of his father. Roman has his own doubts about his place in Jude’s life. Now that they know Jude can both access the Aether and manipulate it, he thinks Jude does not need him. I really enjoyed this book. It wraps up the storyline in a very satisfactory way. The book ends in a very sweet epilogue. I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes MM urban fantasy/romance.

This was a wonderful conclusion to this series. Jude and Roman's story was great and showed that you can always overcome things together. I loved that in the end they were able to have a "normal" life together without the elven drama.
