I'm a sucker for a Greek mythology retelling and this one was great! I loved Hades and the way he became a big softy with Persephone. There were a couple of things that weren't used from the myth that were surprising, but I also wondered how they'd be able to work. The secondary characters are so interesting too, so I can't wait to read more and to see how the town gets run. Excited for book 2 when it comes out.

It had so much potential to be better. The characters at times felt unrealistic. The plot was good (for a short read). I liked the quick peaks into what I assume are the next books in this series.

Persephone Flores is a young woman trying to make ends meet. She works, goes to school and takes care of her younger brother. Once morning she makes a mistake that thrust her into Hades orbit. Hades unable to figure out what keeps drawing him to her decided to make her life a bit miserable. He feels possessive of her and when he learns that she’s selling her virginity to the highest bidder, he ensures that he ends up the winner.

I may have liked the book more if the characters were a bit more realistic. I get it not all books are supposed to be real, for some it provides an escape from reality. However, I personally like to lose myself in a story and I couldn’t.

I love this book! The build up between the characters and the building romance. Hades is so awesome and wasn’t a drag. I have read other books and it’s pretty much the same personality so having this was a breath of fresh air. Persephone character was had a great build up. I can’t wait for the next book!

If you want your main characters to say hi to each other in the middle of sexy time then you'll love it!
What in the world was that?? If a man says "Hello there" before he puts it in I would be doing some serious praying he's better at sex than dirty talk.
My bad, I thought it was going to be a dark and dirty re-telling of Hades and Persephone but it was a bad cheesy contemporary romance.

The 2 stars is for the gorgeous cover.

I absolutely loved this version of Hades and Persephone's love story. Hades was dark and brooding until Persephone stumbles into his life. I love how they react to each other and how quickly their attraction grows.
Persephone is struggling to keep the bills paid and look after her younger brother whilst dealing with a drug addiction mother. She unwittingly attracts the attentions of her Mum's loan shark and is forced to sell her virtue to pay off her mother's debt.
This is a fantastic start to a new series. I hope we get to read more about these characters as I loved the small glimpses we got of the side characters. 👀 looking at you Hermes and Hecate!
