- Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2018Fae of Fortune, A Savannah Sage Supernatural Thriller is the first in what I hope will be a long series by John P. Logsdon and Eric Quinn Knowles as part of the ever expanding Paranormal Police Department series. Fae of Fortune is set in Seattle, where Savannah Sage and the SPPD’s A Team had the seemingly easy task of rescuing a young celebrity named Raymond from some supernaturals who have kidnapped him. Thanks to some poor leadership choices and losing Raymond to the kidnappers, not to mention blowing up a chunk of Seattle, Savannah is put in charge of the misfit team in the basement. What a thrill for the loyal readers of the PPD series when Savannah meets her team and discovers Leland and Harvey, and Cletus and Merle, all exiled to Seattle from previous PPD adventures, are part of her team. Add in a murderous golem in the shape of a pink fuzzy bunny, and you have a raucous romp of an adventure. This book is a great and funny adventure, and leaves plenty of room for more to follow. I recommend it highly!

- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2018Yet another AWESOME entry into the PPD series ! This time we move to Seattle and meet Savannah Sage, a head strong half fae half mage out to prove herself. Good news you can really start this series anywhere and if you are new this is a great book to test the waters with. Plenty of action and destruction and overly full diapers from a pack of were hyenas ! This really looks like a great start of Savannah's journey through the PPD. Will leave you CRAVING more like the FAE crave Starbucks ! Savannah has a natural talent for destruction that brings to mind the destruction created by a couple of other Supernatural Teams like M&S by Orlando Sanchez and Alex Steele's new series. So if you like those dive into the PPD and get your destruction fill ! . Can't wait to see more expansion of the PPD. This is a very intricate and growing world created by JPL !
- Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2019I really wanted to like this entry into the PPD series. I have read all the other books and series and have loved them all. This series I just can't get into. There is not much to like, Savannah is annoying and really only thinks of herself and how she wants to show everyone up. Her team is somewhat interesting but she refuses to make use of them or admit that they are good people. They also don't get enough development. Then you have the rest of the PPD department, who all hate Savannah and make her life miserable (while not being interesting antagonists either). There's just nothing to like here, annoying main character, annoying situation she's placed in. I'm giving it three stars because it has potential but the rest of them had better improve or I don't think I can struggle through this part of the PPD series.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2019A steady-paced plot with characters who form a great ensemble cast, and a protagonist whose flaws generate growth in both herself and the team of lovable, misfits she leads. I am eagerly looking forward to the next book!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2018Entertaining addition to a rich complex world. We are reintroduced to characters we met in the Ian Dex series. I love the way all of the various series are intertwined. Not to discourage the first time reader! This book can easily be read and appreciated without having read the other series. If you are looking for some giggles and some laugh out loud guffaws, and you don’t mind a little colorful humor, the PPD books are for you.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2019A fun read though the characters could have been fleshed out more and the main character made some annoying decisions. Overall I enjoyed the premise and the writing. I will definitely check out more books in the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2019This book was a delightful surprise. A ragtag band of characters all with quirks and powers that made the plot of the story a fun and imaginative read. I am anxiously looking forward to the next book! I love a strong female lead who is not perfect, but continues to persevere!

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun (sometimes funny) action/ police story with a twist
Very well written and engaging. A pleasure to read and become absorbed in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another fantastically funny paranormal police department series
This fantastically funny first book about Savannah Sage starts another Paranormal Police Department series this time based in Seattle. It is linked to, but still works if you haven't read, the Ian Dex series which started with The Merging. The humour is there from the start and the team are all the better for being fun, sarcastic and neither perfect nor pc. There is a great mixture of laugh out loud humour, action and storyline in this first book of another potentially addictive series which kept me wanting to read more even though I knew I had to get up early for work in the morning?! I have been enjoying the development of all of the PPD series and can’t wait for more!

4.0 out of 5 stars Amusing and different
Loved the different take on supernatural powers. Thoroughly enjoyable light reading with a good storyline. I will definitely be buying the next one as I want to see what happens to Savannah and crew!

5.0 out of 5 stars A good addition to the PPD world
While I can't say that this is the best PPD book I have read in the series, it is still a great read. We are introduced to another city's PPD department with it's own style and characters, some of which we have met before in previous PPD books. The plot is really good, however like some of the books in the previous series you will be left with questions, which hopefully the next book can resolve. There are no cliffhangers as such, just loose threads that need some resolution.
