Our First and Last (True-blue Book 7) Kindle Edition
Ian Haughton is a loveable, hardworking nurse. He’s ready for a change and wants to escape and start afresh in the small community of towns he’s grown to love—Kirkby being at the heart.
When the new annual Pride festival launches in this small-town community, Ian is happy to be involved but reluctant to be the lips needed to draw in the crowds at the kissing booth. That is until one man’s lips save him from an uncomfortable moment and end up turning his world on its head.
With miles separating Ian from the future he so desperately wants, he has no idea how he can make it all work out, especially when someone appears to be driving a wedge in his plans.
Some surprises are unexpected, while some revelations come with the sweetest of first—and last—kisses.
Our First and Last is a sweet and sexy M/M romance in Becca Seymour’s bestselling True-Blue series. It can be read as a stand-alone novella, but it’s recommended you read book four, Thinking It Over, first so you have a better understanding of the wonderful characters in this world.

About the author
Becca Seymour is the #1 gay romance best seller of the True-Blue series. Known for “steamy and endearing” and “emotionally profound love stories” (InD'tale Magazine) her books have been nominated for multiple RONE Awards.
Becca lives and breathes all things book related. Usually with at least three books being read and two WiPs being written at the same time, Becca’s life is merrily hectic. She tends to do nothing by halves so happily seeks the craziness and busyness life offers.
Living on her small property in Queensland with her human family as well as her animal family of cows, sheep, chooks, and dogs, Becca appreciates the beauty of the world around her and is a believer that love truly is love.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2021Sigh….I love the town of Kirkby. This group of guys who make up one of the best groups of found family and friends is absolutely one of the best. I adore these kinds of series and books, just for the record. I am so glad that Ian is getting his story at last and we finally get to see what has been going on between him and Frankie since Austin and Jasper’s book. This one is kind of a companion book to #4 but if you have read that one yet, it’s ok. I do highly recommend you catch up on this lovely town though because you won’t regret it! Ian is a big strong handsome guy who often gets stereotyped by people who meet him, but he is actually a fluffy marshmallow who deeply cares about other people. He has been looking for a job closer to Kirkby for a while now because he is tired of the city and the stress of being an ER nurse, but getting closer and exploring the status change in his relationship with his friend Frankie just makes it more imperative. Frankie is entertaining ideas of his own, such as Ty having two parents who would love him instead of just one. He is aware that his family and friends in Kirkby may not be aware of his interest in partners but he has just never made a big deal out of it. If they can only get rid of the guy who seems to be stalking Ian, everything would work out just fine. This book is low angst (like the rest of this series) and is just an absolutely feel good read. You really need to check it out, especially if you like spicy and fluffy reads with lots of caring friends and (slightly) crazy older parents.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2023I thought Ian would end up getting paired up with Cody, but I loved how this worked out so much better!
The story was adorable—just like the rest of the series—and I love how we get glimpses of other characters. I love how sweet Ian is & how much Ty loves him & idolizes him. I love that Frankie gets such a great HEA too, after everything he & Tyler went through.
I hope karma takes a big bite out of Leroy’s butt cheek though!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2023Ian is a likable character from the first introduction. His incident at the Pride kissing booth opens up the friendship with Frankie that soon progresses into much more. Ian’s only real problem is distance, which he’s trying to solve by changing jobs. His issues with an unhappy kissing booth customer seem to pose a problem, but Ian and Frankie sail through. The final solution to their distance issue is resolved as the book comes to a very happy ending… Good read!!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2022I read all 7 of the books in this series, including the 5th short story book that is not in paperback. I'm thrilled with all of these characters and the setting. Please, please write more!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2021I’m glad to hear that Cody will have his say. I had expected him to be in this book, but that’s okay, I’ll get my wish.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2021This is the seventh book in the series. I think they are better read in order but they can be read as standalone books. This book is about Ian and Frankie. Ian is a sweet hardworking nurse. He loves the town of Kirkby and wants to move there but first he has to wait for a job to open up for him. Frankie is a single dad. His son comes first always. He and Ian like each other but neither has told the other. It doesn’t help that Ian is openly gay and doesn’t know that Frankie is fluid with his sexuality. Frankie has just been waiting to make his move. When another guy shows up and the pride festival and clearly makes Ian uncomfortable Frankie can’t wait anymore. He makes his move. Ian and Frankie will make a great couple. Ian already loves Frankie’s son. I loved this book. It was a sweet short read. Ian and Frankie are great characters. They have been circling each other for awhile now. I love all the men of Kirkby. They are fantastic characters and always there for each other. This series is a M/M series and that isn’t your thing than you will want to skip this series. I hope we get to read more about the men of Kirkby. Great job Becca. I look forward to reading more of Becca’s books.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 17, 2022I found books by this author and have read quite a few of them and some of them have actually been really good. The characters are strong but they all have their faults and there's nothing wrong with that. I think my only issue with this book is the layout. The brakes between sentences and paragraphs it often seems that one person is speaking but it's really the person who the chapter is about if that makes any sense. I guess I'm the type of person who likes to read a book in the form of a book not with a bunch of spaces between paragraphs and whatnot. Anyway it's a good story although I'm only halfway through so it remains to be seen.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet
Good, sweet read. Not much angst. I wish the author would have explored a bit more into Leroy at the end. Otherwise a great read. This was my first book of hers I will look for more!
