Joey
The whole world is against me.

Everyone's turned their back on bad, evil Joey.

They all believe the lies.

Until him. Santiago.

The man I can't stop thinking of.

He believes me and in me.

He doesn't care a damn what the world thinks.

And when he finds himself in danger the only one that can protect him is me.

Santiago
He's what nightmares are made of. He's the stuff crime documentaries warn you about.

But that's not the real Joey.

The real Joey craves one thing and one thing only.

To be loved.

And to save me from the awful people I've gotten mixed up with.

So even though all signs tell me to run as far away from him as possible, I can't.

Because I want to love him just like he needs me to.

Welcome to Mayberry Holm, a small island in the Atlantic full of crime, secrets and happily-ever-afters, and the ex-Navy SEALs that come to deal with them all.

Joey is wrongly accused and judged harshly by others who should have been there for him. This has made him very insecure. Joey and Santiago are immediately drawn to each other and have a strong instant connection. Santiago believes Joey and this is the most powerful element of their relationship. The trust is always there. Joey is a big guy who is actually gentle inside and wants to be accepted and understood. Santiago gives him all that and so much more! I was fully invested in the happy ending for these too!

Bad Joey is the second book in the Mayberry Holms Protector series. Ohh Joey! Life really threw a curveball at him! He’s treated like a pariah by his teammates for something he was accused of but did not do. He’s given a second chance and meets Santiago. Santiago makes a report to law enforcement and nothing is done, he feels like his life is in danger. I freakin loved Joey and Santiago! They communicated like adults should, but they were also fun. Santi was sassy and snarky but so very protective of Joey when others treated him badly. Wonderful secondary characters, a bit of action and a sweet romance makes Bad Joey a fantastic read! Well written with addicting pacing.

These characters made it impossible to put this story down until I knew how it would play out. Joey is such a sad character. His whole life up until he meets Santiago is like walking a tightrope. He works so hard to be good enough but something always makes him feel inferior.
Santiago is another character on his own. His life is trying to be an investigative reporter but his boss keeps him from doing so. As he stumbles across something that could be a big story for him, he feels he is now in danger. The way Santiago insists Joey is more than good enough and the come backs he has for each of Joey’s reasons to not get together are entertaining. What they go through on the way to resolving issues both have make this story a constant flow and made this a real page turner.

Bad Joey was a bit if a surprise for me, I really didn't think I'd love it as much as I did. I found it difficult to put down, something rare for me just now.
Does it have a bit of insta-love? Sure, but that really worked here. Santiago and Joey spoke about everything. No secrets, so the plot didn't quite go where I thought and that was a whole lot of fun.
Both characters needed someone to believe them. Joey especially so. He's so damaged to begin with, trying to restart his life when he meets Santiago who gives him purpose and a family.
Of course, this series has the small town vibe going on, a bunch of interesting secondary characters and a heap of action.
I was team Joey from the first chapter. I think he's my favourite Rhys character

Another fantastic book by Rhys, one of my favorite writers

This guy, Joey appears on the previous book and everybody hates his gut, they think he killed his stepfather.
When a local "reporter" Santiago, contacts the ex-Seal team because he saw a drug deliever, Joey steps up to check what Santi saw

When they meet, a sparks takes them to danger

I loved this book

I received an ARC but the words are honest

Bad Joey is the continued story in the Mayberry Protectors Series, and I did enjoy this addition. I was really looking forward to learning more of Joey Fowler and why his team decided he was blacklisted and never to be forgiven. I was really looking forward to more of the secrets and danger that the residents of Mayberry are living in and who is behind it all. This has a good family feel with ex SEAL's and their loyalty and bravery at the center of it all.

I was pleased to see that Joey was not as bad as everyone made him seem. He was actually a really sweet and loyal mad who was hurt and tormented as a child and into his early adult years by someone who should have been safe. And at his core all he wants to do is be loved and love someone in return. I loved his protector vibes and how he kept pushing to show his ex-team that he was worthy of their loyalty and friendship. Now that Joey has a place to land at Mayberry he wants to be in on the action his ex-SEAL teams finds themselves in, but he is frustratingly put on chef duty and then on protective detail of the source who says he is in danger and knows where the drugs are coming in to. And when he meets Santigo Pedro Ortiz Alvarez, he has more to worry about than just keeping this man safe, he needs to try to behave himself which Joey does not always like to do.

Santiago (Santi or Tiago) fears for his life after he witnessed something he definitely shouldn't' have. But being a reported at heart he wants this story, and he wants to stop whoever is funneling drugs in and out of his hometown. So far, the only people on his side are his close friend and the team who have names themselves the unofficial protectors of Mayberry. He's constantly searching his surroundings and his fear literally takes his breath away. And when he meets Joey, one of his protectors, his breathe is lost yet again but only because the man is big and beautiful and the protector vibe down to a T. And once he gets to know Joey better, he realizes that this man only wants to be happy and make someone happy in return. And Sanit wants more than anything to be able to help him with that and more.

When this book started out, I was loving it. I loved the instant connection and insta-lust between Joey and Sanit. Loved getting Joey's background and even though it was sad I did enjoy the fight Joey had in him to be accepted again. Loved Shadow the cat with attitude for days who gravitated towards Joey instantly. Pets in books can be such a balm to our hero's souls because they just know good when they see it. It was sweet. I loved Santi's drive to get answers, protect his loved ones, and also his humor and outlook on life. And Joey pulled at my heartstrings many times, he's a survivor and has been through a lot. But for some reason the book went a little downhill for me about halfway through. The storyline did not pick up until the very end and I was salivating for some answers by then. And I felt like if I wasn't getting answers then I wanted some really steamy scene's and even though the intimacy was there, it was so much milder than I expected. And they were few and far in between. Seems Everly was focusing on the relationships of all our characters more than the connection between our hero's which wasn't bad, but it just is not my favorite. Maybe I just needed more balance between the two. There were too many instances where Joey was defending himself against our stubborn supporting characters and that started to ware on me as well. I was so angry with Parker (from Mother Parker) and Ash as well. Autum (Parkers sister) was still so awesome in this one, always the voice of reason and had Joey's back throughout. I loved Santi's parents; they were so cute and Mr. Rogers who was a good friend to Joey. And then our poor Ethan, his story is so sad and when Joey took him under his wing it was so so sweet. This was one of those parts of the story where it was extra drama on top of already existing drama but in a good way. I really enjoyed all the moments with Ethan and maybe in a few years we can see his HEA. Things did wrap up with some fast passed action which was written well so I did enjoy the ending. And the introduction of our next couple was smooth and intrigued me.

All in all, I did like this book, will continue to read his series, but wished for a bit more heat and less inner monologue. I am sure the Cartel causing trouble in Mayberry is far from over and I hope to see out SEAL's continue to bring down the bad guys. I did enjoy this second book a bit more than the first and hope to see Joey and Santi going strong in the future.

My fair rating is 3.25.

“Bad Joey” is the second book in the Mayberry Protectors series by Rhys Everly. It features Santiago Ortiz and Joey Fowler. Santiago works at the local newspaper and Joey is a former Navy SEAL. The pair have a very memorable meeting. Pepper spray has never been so alluring! I love the instant connection the two MCs have.

Santiago accidentally uncovers a drug cartel and Joey takes it upon himself to keep Santiago safe. There was a great balance of mystery/intrigue and romance in this story. I liked seeing the development of Joey and Santiago’s relationship as they try to tackle the threat of the cartel.

Joey has a bad rep. He was accused and cleared of murdering his stepfather, but most people assumed he simply got away with the crime. Joey and his stepfather’s relationship serves as an emotionally intense background to the story. While I didn’t like that almost everyone had preconceived notions about Joey, I did appreciate that Santiago paid no attention to them and formed his own opinion of Joey. He treats Joey with respect and kindness. It’s very clear that Joey wants approval, acceptance, affection, and love from the people in his life. Santiago sees inside to his core and understands that there’s good there. Joey really is a sweet soul.

Wyatt, Elliot, Autumn, and Mr. Rogers are others in the community that don’t write Joey off right away. Santiago can be sassy when pushed but he’s nothing but gentle and tender around Joey. Both men are protective of each other.

There is definitely some instalove in this book. Santiago is a balm to Joey’s soul. This is a great match! There’s a good amount of heat and humor as well. The cast of characters was lively and entertaining. Santiago’s parents were amazing and funny. Santi’s cat Shadow steals the scenes. The last chapter is totally endearing! I’m excited to see what goes down in Slade and King’s story up next in the series!

Update: The bonus epilogue to this story dropped on December 20th and it is glorious!

I enjoyed the first book in the series, was intrigued by Joey with his hinted at past, and wanted to know more. I enjoyed his and Santiago’s story with its mix of romance, intrigue, and suspense. I’m looking forward to more in the series.

Both Joey and Santiago grow through the story, with each being what the other needs. Santiago is nervous at the beginning, seeing shadows everywhere, including places where there are bad things lurking, but stands up for not only Joey, but Elliot too. Joey is a very capable ex-SEAL who needs to be loved and accepted for who he truly is. Their romance is sweet. I particularly loved how they’re often happy to just cuddle and kiss on the sofa, needing to be close.

With most SEAL or ex-SEAL stories their family of brothers is an important part of the story. This time, Joey is on the outs of that because of what is presumed he’s done. I loved how Santiago makes him talk about his past, never judges, and then stands up to Joey’s teammates and tells them what’s what. Asher, in particular, holds a grudge for something that never happened, and I was very happy when Autumn rips into him for it. She totally rocks.

I love Santiago’s parents. One meeting with Joey, and they’re already planning the wedding. I liked Mr Rogers, Joey’s landlord too. He’s a wise old guy, and practical with it. Shadow of course, in typical cat fashion, is a scene stealer, though has some competition now. I liked Santiago and King’s friendship, and looking forward to learning more about King and Slade.
I liked how the plot also progressed Elliot’s story with his brother, who is a nasty piece of work. The tension and action with the drug runners was well written. I loved how it all played out with everyone playing their role in taking them down.

Joey Fowler is a newcomer to the Mayberry Holm, Massachusetts community. With a big chip on his shoulder over a murder that he didn't commit, Joey strives for exoneration every day from his ex-Navy SEAL brothers. Receiving a tip from a local newspaperman, Santiago Ortiz, about an alleged drug smuggling ring going on inside their very own town, Joey shadows the gorgeous albeit very nervous Santiago to see if there's any credence to his report. But when Joey meets Santiago face-to-face for the first time, an immediately palpable attraction between the two surfaces. But is Joey doing his job protecting Santiago from the suspected crime syndicate by getting closer to him, or is he in reality distracting himself from doing it right as he falls deeper and deeper for Santi?

Bad Joey is absolutely marvelous!! The plot of this novel is VERY well-written, multidimensional and remarkably presented… not to mention entertaining and engrossing!! The book hit all the right spots in my heart… Joey is hurting emotionally from what he feels is the betrayal of his SEAL brothers by not trusting in him that he's telling the truth over the circumstances of the death of his step-father. However, when Santiago tip-toes into his life and settles in his heart, Joey has a new intention, as if his life's sole purpose is to protect a total stranger from the sordid goings-on on the island. It seems almost as if the two were fated to be with each other - to protect and heal each other in a sometimes abysmal existence.

A fabulous follow up to Mother Parker in the Mayberry Protectors series… 5 stars, definitely!!

Love and intrigue and cats

After seeing him in Mother Parker, I was looking forward to Bad Joey to find out why all his fellow SEALs were shunning him. Turns out, they were all just a nasty bunch who didn't know the meaning of friendship and camaraderie and having each other's back, but preferred to ostracise a brother without making any effort to find out the truth.
Joey was very down on himself which was hard to understand at first, but once he revealed his history to Santiago, I felt for him and all that he had endured. His insecurity made so much sense, and I was just happy that he found someone who believed in him and loved him without reservation.
Santiago was a bundle of nerves but with good reason. I liked how he was woven into the ongoing threads from Mother Parker of racketeering and the cartel, and how Joey came into his life because of that and became his protector and his love. In fact, I loved how they became each other's protectors and champions.
The love between them came very quickly, but when you know, you know. And the love between Joey and Shadow cracked me up, especially seeing Santiago jealous of his cat!
I know the next book is Slade and King but I want Duke's story, and Wyatt's, and I know Elliot is very young but he needs his own Joey to love and protect him so perhaps he could be the last in the series when he's had time to grow older.

Bad Joey is the second book in the Mayberry Protector’s series by author Rhys Everly. I loved this story. There is a lot of attention to detail in this book that I enjoyed too. I loved the artwork and set up of the pages. This story is told in dual POV which is my favorite. I have not read the previous books in this series, and I was not lost starting here.

Joey: he is much more forgiving than I would have been, especially in certain places in this story. He is trying to prove to his “Brothers” that he can be trusted. They do not make the easy for him. He carries a lot of burdens in this story, but he is still a very kind, sweet, and tough guy.

Santiago: he has a cat, pretty badass cat if you ask me. He is very aware he is in danger. He works at the local newspaper. Scared and paranoid when we meet him. He is also very strong and kind as well.

Overall, this is a great story. I loved meeting Joey and Santi. They are a great couple. They each have a little of what the other needs in their life. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. I hope it redeems the others in my mind, cause right now I am not loving them. Cannot wait to see what the future holds.

I liked the suspense plotline of Joey and Santiago's story, but it wasn't my favorite romance. I think my biggest issue was that I could never quite love the main characters as much as I wanted to. Yes, Joey was misunderstood and definitely not as bad of a guy as everyone thought he was, but he also showed little to no growth over the course of the story. His temper remained unchanged, and his struggle to express himself never fully went away. I thought it was really sweet how Santi always stuck up for him, but I wish he hadn't needed to by the end. Outside of that, I thought the mystery Santi and Joey were working to solve was very entertaining, but continued to be overshadowed by the uncomfortable dynamic between Joey and the rest of the team. Joey and Santi had a pretty cute romance unfolding themselves, and I love how much Shadow kitty ended up being a part of their story. I was interested enough to finish the book and see how everything worked out, but I don't think I'll be continuing on with this series.

**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.

I absolutely loved Joey and Santiago, they connected so well right from the start and it continued to grow and develop into a beautifully supportive and loving HEA.
Santi is the only person to truly listen to Joey, believes in him, and stands up for him. Joey has some anger issues stemming from past abuse, trouble has a tendency to find him, and the ones who should have supported and listened to his side of things basically turned their back on him. These men seem like opposites with Santi outwardly being a bright, sassy, but skittish man and Joey being a big, tough guy. But inside Santi can become a tiger when needed and Joey is a wounded, soft teddy bear in need of a hug and some love. Together they are perfect for each other!
This story is full of intrigue, action, and danger, has some steamy sexy times, it shows the importance of open communication, is deeply emotional, has a wonderful found family, an opinionated cat, and has some revelations both personal and within the townsfolk.
I would definitely recommend this book.

Danger, angst and a pepper spray meet-cute!🌶

3.5-4.0 🌟 stars
Joey, Santiago and a pet cat. Central characters in a drama that packs plenty of angst originating in domestic abuse and, for Joey, holding on for dear life in his adult daily life. Joey hit me as a physically hardened ex-Seal with a soft, battered center. He found the right guy in young reporter Santiago but, for me, he was just a bit too insecure. Santiago, on the other hand is well-grounded, has great love and support from his parents and is great at getting Joey out of his negative, self-hating spirals. More power to him but I was a bit disappointed that he is portrayed as a weakling who collapses when he's stressed.

The action scenes were great. The conflict between Joey and his former Seal team evoked the desired sympathy for misunderstood and maligned Joey.

Overall, I liked the earlier Mother Parker in the series a bit better, but I enjoyed this one too.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

All they had ot do was ask! Joey, has a bad reputation. Everyone believes he comitted a heinous act, and got away with it. His abusive, brutal stepfather was murdered and the finger pointed toward Joey. It is unearned and based on others' perception based on faulty information. He understands their hostility toward him. He understands he needs to earn the respect of his teammates. But he hurt deeply because no one 'asked' him what happened. Everyone assumed he was guilty. Wyatt, gave Joey a job as cook at the Outpost. Santiago, saw something. He reported it and nothing happened. Then he felt he was in danger with his knowledge of bad things happening. Joey, volunteers to help. This is a fun story, the heated attraction, the mystery of the cartel, the conversation inside Santiago's head and the hot awkwardness between Joey and Santiago. Will they succeed in protecting Santiago? Will they disband the Cartel? Will Joey's military record be upgraded? Good story, excellent flow, well timed excitement. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the second book of the Mayberry Protectors series. It can be read alone, but like always it is more enjoyable if the previous book is read, that's where the characters are first introduced.
Joey...Joey...Joey...I didn't realize how much of a damage soul he was when he was first introduced. He broke my heart with all that he has endured. His "brothers" pissed me off, being such @h*oles to him. Yeah, they might have asked for forgiveness but I think Joey was to soft on them. They needed to grovel!! But he had Santiago in his corner and that's all he needed. Santiago saw the hurt Joey carried and stood by him, showering him with all the love he deserved and needed. Together they were a force to be reckon with, as their enemies soon realized. Kidnapping, shootings...who cares as long as they had each other 😁
Santiago's parents were hilarious, wish there appeared more in the story, lol. Shadow was also awesome. In my mind he gravitated toward Joey, cause he felt Joey's pain and knew he needed cuddles.
Now I need to know what's going on with King and Slade!!

This is the 3rd book in this series and after a rocky start the book finishes strong.
Santiago has seen something he shouldn’t have and he’s scared. Joey is the new cook and former SEAL who takes one look at Santiago and is smitten.
Joey’s history is complicated and his former teammates think the worst of him. Joey is a work in progress and just wants to belong. Sant is this lovably person who wants a man to love him for who he is. That said this story has intrigue and love in equal measure.
My heart broke for Joey. He was treated horribly by the individuals who were shy to be his brothers. Only Santiago was able to see who Joey really was. He treated him with respect and dignity. It was a sweet hurt/comfort story with an added bonus of kitties
We are treated to a bunch of vicious bad guys who try their very best to screw up Santiago life. We also have Joey who has found the person who believes in him. If all of this doesn’t convince you to read this book just know that there are kitties that almost steal the show.

This series has gotten much better as it’s gone along. The author has developed the group’s renegade vigilanteeism, addressing the fact they’re working covertly, right under the nose of the town’s inept police force.

I liked the characters of this book and found I could really connect with them. There were some really great details like Santiago dealing with his asthma. The desperate search for the inhaler, and then counting down from 10 as you wait for it to take affect, are very authentic aspects of dealing with lungs that don’t work right.

I especially liked how Joey was so well developed. Key characteristics of somebody who was raised with abuse, like low self-worth, not feeling like anybody wants you around, being insecure when your decisions impact other people, and excepting abuse from other people in your life, all contributed to make him a very real person. I loved how the author portrayed him both as somebody physically very strong, but emotionally very fragile. The dichotomy made Joey someone that you wanted to know and with whom you could easily empathize.

Well, to say Mayberry Holm isn’t your typical cute, quaint little town would be an understatement! All sorts of dangerous people and nefarious activities seems to be congregating there, thus the high number of ex-navy SEALS, trying to protect the townsfolks and dismantling the crime, and finding love left and right along the way!
Joey is one of those ex-navy SEALS, down on his luck and with a stain on his past that, though not for his fault, creates a wall between him and his former brothers. No one seems to believe him until he meets Santiango, who has uncovered a drug cartel on the island and needs protection. And though Santi has struggles on his own, between his asthma, his anxiety and the danger he is in, he rises as Joey’s champion against anyone who dares to speak ill of him and treats him badly.
A funny meet-cute, a bit of insta-love and a whirlwind romance, this book was very enjoyable and quite exiting!

I really enjoyed book 2 in the Mayberry Protectors series. It was well written and kept my attention the entire time.

Joey is working at a cook at Wyatt's bar and the other men in town who served together as Navy Seals believe Joey killed his step-father and make their dislike of Joey quiet clear. I usually like seeing main characters from other books in the series show up, but it's going to take a lot for me to forgive how they treated Joey.

When Joey meets Santiago, a local newspaper reporter, they have an instant connection and quickly open up to each other. Santiago and Joey are perfect for each other and amid the romance, Joey is protecting Santiago from a dangerous drug cartel. I was disappointed in Joey's former Seal brothers, though out most of the book, but they were finally there when he really needed them.

Slade and King's story was set up nicely and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

While I felt the flow of the book was a little chaotic and out of order with information being given in spots that made me go back and reread parts to make sure I didn’t miss something. There was a bit too much self-recrimination from Joey, and the resolution to the challenges in the team relationships seemed to resolve overly quickly.

I think the romance portion of the story was a good. An emotionally damaged ex-SEAL with a ruined reputation who meets a socially awkward reporter who’s struggling to be taken seriously, who witnesses a major crime and needs protection. The story definitely leaned towards insta-obsession and a bit of insta-love, but the framework of a good romance was there. The mystery and action portion of the book was impacted a little bit by the awkward flow of the story, but still kept things moving at a good pace.

Overall, a decent read.

Joey and Santiago story was endearing, sweet and with a lot of feeling.
Joey was just a misunderstood, bad treated and wounded soul that finds in Santiago the solace, support and love he craved all his life.
They have to get over a couple obstacles, a well hidden drug cartel, and to win the trust of lost brothers in their journey to happiness.
I liked the way they complete each other so beautifully and the way Santiago defends Joey when his brothers team doubt him or treat him poorly.
I liked the little fluffs, and the cat, and the way Joey treats them and takes care of them.
The events takes to light the danger and truth, as well as the true character of some people that were considered good citizen.
It was an enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to see what happens next.

Joey didn’t kill his stepfather but the men that should of supported him and had his back, didn’t believe him. Then he meets Santiago and his miserable life changes for the better. Joey can’t believe someone could love him, really love him and be willing to share his wonderful, personable cat. (Not to wonderful or personable actually).

I liked that Joey was willing to to stand up to his ex friends when it came to Santi. Also that Santi never doubted Joey. The insta-love aspect was fun as were the interactions of Santi’s parents and his best friend.

I liked the characters, even if some of them were incredibly rotten to Joey. I thought the SEALS would of been more supportive of their beleaguered teammate.

Liked the story

Bad Joey is a great addition to the series. It’s an instant attraction with a mystery story that I found very hard to put down and which cured my current reading slump.
Joey and Santi are both adorable, and I loved that big muscled Joey is a marshmallow inside for Santi, and Santi is smaller but no pushover and has so much strength. They are perfect for each other, and I love how they supported and stood up for one another
This can easily be read as a stand-alone, although reading the rest of the series will give a better understanding of repeating characters.
I enjoyed this book immensely and highly recommend it and the whole series so far.

I must confess to being very confused in the beginning. I could just not reconcile the persona of Joey to that of how I see SEALs portrayed. They are normally stoic, reliable, able to control their emotions and follow orders to a T. All that Joey is not. It is a struggle to understand how he got into the navy, SEALs and then into a special task force.
However the more I read, the more the words of this author seemed to get through to my compassion and wanted Joey to succeed in this mission. Santiago brought out his emotions, fear being one and don't see at first.
I look forward to reading more in this series and especially to see Wyatt's team grow as they are able to solve and rid the island of crime.
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Just finished this book and it rocked! I had read the first story in the series and that was so good I knew I had to get my hands on this puppy to see what was happening next and who would find their HEA. This is a story of ex-Navy Seals that want their island free of drugs and intimidation. It features strong men who put their lives on the line to save their loved ones. This is Joey and Santiago’s story, and it made my heart melt with the care and concern their family and found family show towards them and each other. It also takes a lot to admit to mistakes and to forgive past misconceptions. I can’t wait until the next book comes out and to see who gets their HEA. A must read that will melt your heart!

Bad Joey is the 2nd book in the Mayberry Protector series. It can be read as a standalone, but I think the series should be read in order. Joey was wrongly accused and is harshly judged and is looking for the day that he can clear his name. Santiago is a reporter who witnesses a crime, which puts his life in danger. When their paths cross, there is an instant connection.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters have a great chemistry, and the connection between them was well developed. Joey was mislabeled and misunderstood and I felt really bad for him. Santiago was sweet, and the goodness in him really showed. I liked watching the attraction and the relationship that bloomed between them. This was such a good book.

Loved it!

This book is fantastic! The next chapter in the saga of Mayberry Holms and it’s Joey and Santiago’s story. Joey is another one of Wyatt’s men and Santiago works for the local paper. They meet when Santiago turns to them for help. It will start an amazing journey for the two that will include friends, danger, lots of love and snuggles, one cat with a big attitude and three adorable kittens! I love the way their relationship develops and how Santiago is there for Joey when he reveals the troubles of his past. Santiago’s parents are a hoot and help to make this book an absolute must read!

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

Joey and Santi ❤️.
4 Stars ⭐️

This is the second book of this series and I adored it. Joey was such a sad, down and out character. My heart broke for him and how poorly he was treated by his team, he was such a gentle giant. Santiago was perfect for him. I loved how Santiago was steadfast in believing him and in him....it made my heart happy ❤️ I was on pins and needles for his redemption and the truth to finally come out!!! This book had a little bit of everything, it had some action, intrigue, romance, tenderness and heat. I would most definitely recommend and I can't wait for what's next with this team and town !!!
