Who needs a Master Wizard anyway? Major Wilbur Wiggles doesn't know it yet, but all four of his older brothers have been killed in combat. The military brass has tried to notify him, but the Major's squad has gone dark because their radios are out.

Spotting an opportunity, the Fates summon Gungren for the second leg of his three-part Fate Quest.

They task him with hunting down Major Wiggles on behalf of the army. His goal is to find the man, get him to army headquarters, and then take him back home so that Mrs. Wiggles doesn't lose her only remaining son.

As if that wasn't tough enough, Gungren and Whizzfiddle had a falling out. That means Gungren won't have his master's help during this quest... or will he?

Fans of Monty Python and Discworld will find a grand new playground in the Tales From the Land of Ononokin series.

INTERVIEW WITH THE AUTHOR:
Q: What makes the Tales From the Land of Ononokin series special?
A:
I had just finished watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy and was thinking how much fun it would be to create a fantasy world of my own that brought in a very strange mix of our present-day cultures and those of the Middle Ages. I also wanted to alter the myths regarding standard fantasy races around a bit. I essentially turn normal fantasy on its head wherever possible, and it makes each book a laugh-out-loud blast.

Q: So, why should readers give these books a try?
A:
Because Tales From the Land of Ononokin is a wonderful world to play in. It has comedy, interesting characters, tons of world elements to discover, and a never-ending supply of story ideas. Plus, it's not politically correct. It's also not intended for the kiddies, which means that you'll get mild adult humor thrown into the mix as well. ...and have I mentioned that the main wizard in the first story has to get a bit sloshed in order to do magic? Come on... that's funny!

Logsdon and Young once again spin an imaginative tale. For those that have read the previous Ononokin books you will be happy to revisit some of your favorite characters. Gungren, Whizzfiddle, and the Fates muddle about as always with the usual results.

Once again our Authors take us to the odd land of Ononokin. This time they take a famous movie mix liberally with oddness, strange people, laughs and clever characters and deliver to us, the reader, the latest book by Logsdon and Young. As with all their books so far this one is stronger than the last. The characters become deeper and more rounded, the world they inhabit more real.

This book is easy to read, easy to enjoy and packed full of laughs, so if you need to relax, need to cheer yourself up then look no further. As I've said Saving Major Wiggles (Tales from the Land of Ononokin Book 6) is the strongest Ononokin book yet so if you've enjoyed the others you'll love this one. Favorite characters return and the story line is as strong as ever.

This is the next installment of Gungren's quest in the Land of Ononokin and would work best if you had read the previous books, Quest of Undoing and the Kidnapped Prince, however this is not essential as enough is explained. If you haven't read these before then be prepared to laugh out loud :-) It's great to see Gungren and Whizzfiddle back as well as the Quest media team. There are a wide range of characters both known and new, some of whom will probably remind you of people you know?! If you like Discworld and/or Monty Python (I love both) then I recommend given Ononokin a chance but be warned you may get hooked?!

Another fun book in the Tales from the Land of Ononokin series. A new quest for Gundgren to complete and some great new characters (my favourite is the lonely mole!). I love how the Dark Elf, Misty, manipulates the Fates, and the utter insanity of military rules.

If you want a book that will make you snigger on the train, this is for you. If you haven't read the previous books in the series, do yourself a favour and get them now.

Yet again John Logsdon and Christopher Young have delivered the goods. All the Ononokin books have been brilliant and laugh-out-loud funny - and this is certainly no exception. We're following the second quest for Gungren to become a full Wizard, but as ever with the world of Ononokin nothing is remotely straight forward! If you've already discovered Ononokin then you will love it - and if by some stupid reason you haven't, then do so immediately!!!

While the stakes don't feel very high, this being the middle of the series, you don't really read a Logsdon and Young book for Game of Thrones style drama. The humor is there, the pacing is just about right, and you feel satisfied with the ending, while being ready to jump back in when the new book arrives. Note: most of the series is interconnected, but ultimately stand alone, but I wouldn't suggest starting with this one or you might be a bit lost.

Book 6 in the Land of Ononokin series doesn't disappoint! As you'd expect from this series their are alot of laugh out loud moments. Think Terry Pratchett's Discworld inhabited by the cast of a Monty Python sketch and you'll get the general idea! John P. Logsdon has come up with another clever plot line with quests, Wizards, Gods and clueless Army personnel galore! I won't give the plot away, read it for yourself, you won't regret it!

Quest two!

Saving Major Wiggles, which sort of reminds me of a film that I might have seen once, is book 6 and is even better than book 5 (which I also loved).
Gungren is so likeable that it's impossible to not root for him to complete his quest, very often in spite of Whizzfiddle's help. It has the perfect mix of humour and the bizarre, as well as a healthy dose of insanity.

Wizard's apprentice Gungren is back as he continues the quests granted to him by The Fates.

How will Gungren complete his latest quest to bring Major Wiggles safely home from the war ? What rewards await Gungren if if does it?

Answer these questions and maybe learn a bit more about The Twelve and The Fates by reading this book.

In part 2 of 3 of this series arc as we go questing again with our intrepid heroes namely Whizzfiddle and Grungen have to do the saving private Ryan bit. And it seem the reality show is showing unexpected dividends all allowing for plenty a chuckle and smile. Another 5 stars all the way and can't wait to see what happens in the 3rd quest.

I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review. I love this series. They’re always fun and full of silly situations. The characters are adorable as normal and there’s a good amount of humour thrown in. I felt sorry for major wiggles in the end even though he’s a tit

I've loved every one of the Ononokin Series. The world building and character creation is excellent and every story has had me glued to the page from beginning to end. The books are full of fun and humour and all with a very well thought up storyline.

Gungren or whizzfiddle

Not one of the best stories just a stretching out of Gungren's three quests which should wrap up next book. I hope.

I love this series. The characters all have depth and their own personalities - reminds me if early Xanth and Discworld. I think the narrator makes the characters that much more real. Can’t wait til book 7!!!

I received a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

NOTE: These books are not intended for kids, not intended for those without a sense of humor, preferably warped, not intended to be anything really like Saving Private Ryan #becauseLogson.

All of Major Wiggles brothers died, all at the same time, brought together in one place during the war, even though there were supposedly safeguards to keep this very thing from happening. Now the wizard Whizzfiddle's apprentice thinks he has the go ahead to have this as a quest, so his apprentce Grungren is off to, maybe, save the day.

Another great tale

Following on from book 5, this is the second quest and continues the amusing story of a wizard's quests. I have have read all previous books books and this one does not disappoint either. Characters are continue to develop and new ones enter that remind you of people you know! Beautifully written, funny sometimes even with a groan! If you like wizards, fantasy or are a Terry Pratchett can then you will love these books.
