    I like the way this author portrays this very different approach of the ever submissive female....Usually in other books I've read the woman may not accept an attraction and her destiny at first, but accepts it soon after, Not Sophia, no she turns around and goes after the goals she always intended for herself until her eyes are opened to the reality of life years later and that what she thought she wanted is not that, but is what she was destined for.

    This prequel has made me hungry for knowledge, knowledge of what is to be. I'm on my way to purchase Claimed and learn what Sophia and Kris get up to when they finally come together after 3 years.

    I'm all for people finding their own way and doing their own thing, but why fight destiny when it feels so right? If your destiny is to make things better and it eels amazing even if it wasn't in your original plan I'm all for diving in head first and finding myself in a new way. Not really happy with some peoples decisions in this story even though it does follow the common theme in this series of people not getting to live for very long.

    I normally will not read a novella. I really hate when a story is broken up into a bunch of novellas, but that is not the case with this particular short story. This story while short was an introduction to the series. It gives you a taste of how the books will go and even how the author writes. I was very much pulled into Fia's internal struggle to keep her independence and the life she planned while being connected to another person on a soul bonded level. I recommend this story and do bely it should be first in the series.

No characterization. No point. The heroine was horrid and impossible to like. Add to that a smattering of typos and really awkward phrasing.

    This is a short story that shows the flip side of what most paranormal books show us. What if the person doesn't follow and believe instantly? What if the character decides to go against the grain? I enjoyed seeing the less accepting side of a paranormal world. This is the first book I've ever read by this author and I'm intrigued enough to learn more. I am interested in seeing more from this world and reading more from Hariharan. I also enjoyed that the story is set in a country I haven't read much about.

    Sofia is sooo selfish.... Ok, get wanting to choose her own life and her own destiny but she just seems to reject everything out of hNd and Kris just let's her,....
    She doesn't really try to understand, yes ok, it all a bit crazy and seems beyond far fetched but she doesn't even try...
    Soo she runs off to live her life "her way", not everything goes according to plans,and yet when she sees Kris again, she's brimming over w/bitterness and resentment towards a man she barely knows ,spent less than a day with him last time they met,yet acts like she has every reason the world to hate and resent him and SPOILER ALERT 🚨
    She very SELFISHLY kills herself,I'm sorry for the spoiler, but I've battled depression most of my life,while ppl have said suicide is the Ultimate act of selfishness,yet all I've ever seen it as was a way to stop the pain....
    Soo to say this ticked ( not the word I want to use,but afraid I won't be published if I use what I want) me off is putting lightly!!!
    Fia here is just being a spoiled and very very selfish beyotch !!!
    If Kris was a bad guy or tried to hurt her or force her that might have been one thing,hell all things considered ? He was too nice really...
    Long story short, a 22 year old woman gets told by her grandmother she is supposed to help birth a new race and bring an incredible new change in the humans on earth, she isn't interested or even curious or intrigued by the idea..... No, all she can think of is what about me, what about what I want,after her grandmother dies and she has to believe the truth of her words she seeks out the man who should be her mate, she doesn't really Le him explain but she doesn't really want to listen,then 3 years later after living on her own terms and is still unhappy, Kris shows up while she is drowning her sorrows, and she again doesn't give him a chance and again he lets her walk away, only this time it's permanent...
    I'm sorry but I don't have a clue how this incredibly selfish beyotch and this weak man are supposed to make me want to read anything else ?
    Selfish is weak not strong, wanting to end your suffering is one thing but that is not what this was...
    Sorry I know I've made my point but this really really hurt my feelings and ticked me off!

    This is such a deep book, although its stand-alone it's also the beginning of the fabulous 'Many lives' series.
    The characters have been created through emotion and colours, Fia is a wonderful person who is just trying to find her way in life with many obstacles in her way.
    The story flows as Lami hariharan pours emotions all over the pages, I love the way she writes. And I'm addicted to her stories....

    This story is a cliffhanger, not my favorite. I enjoyed the feel of this book. It draws you in and makes you want to make the decision for Sofia. You definitely want to read what happens next. A great start for the series. I recieved this arc and volunteered to review it.
