T R Butcher has a knack for describing combat theaters that draws a reader I to the muck, rain and tree line as if he were their feather reading a page. His dialogue is crisp and doesn't lend itself to flowery commentary or waste time with posturing for an authors personal views. He tells his story from the eyes and mouths of his characters and they sound human.
War is hel l and T R Butcher drags readers through it without compassion, making them feel the losses and weight of decisions as if they were out own burdens. He is good, damne d good.
