Corio Heights #5

The Cocky Neighbor

Rate this book
What do you do when you can't stop thinking about your new boss?

Eric couldn't ask for a better life. He has amazing friends, a great job, and the freedom to go home with whoever he wants that night. He couldn't ask for more, because he never wanted more. Relationships were for people tired of the excitement of the unknown, and that certainly wasn't him. Life was perfect...except for the appearance of his new utterly annoying, ridiculously dressed boss who is set on making his job a living hell. Eric wants nothing to do with the man, so why does it seem like he can't escape him?

Liam came in with a mission, and that is to finish his job perfectly. His brother tasked him to stabilize the new hotel line their family's company acquired, and he couldn't fuck this up. He doesn't need distractions, especially in the form of sexy, kind, and hot-headed men like the hotel's manager. Liam is determined to keep his distance, but it doesn't help when the man keeps wiggling under his skin. Maybe it's time to stop trying to fight this attraction and find another way to release the extra tension?

The Cocky Neighbor is an enemies-to-lovers M/M romance that features two men who get on each other's nerves but can't seem to keep their hands off of each other and discovering that love can be freeing. It is the fifth book of the Corio Heights series and can be read as a standalone but will be more enjoyable when read as a series.

This was a great conclusion to the Corio Heights series! We finally have Liam’s story, the landlord of the apartment building all the titular neighbors live in, after getting bits of Liam’s story in the last book. I loved seeing him as a main character and getting his backstory from his perspective. Eric was a perfect fit for him, and their rapport and chemistry was wonderful. I’m sad to see this series end, but Liam and Eric certainly left us on a high note.

My favorite part about Liam and Eric’s relationship was their utter confusion, exasperation, and fond acceptance of the other’s clothing choices. Liam is cocky, larger than life, expects perfection, and wears the loudest and brightest clothes. Liam’s clothes scream personality. All colors and patterns are available for mixing and matching, and Eric thinks this is hideous. Eric is a little more laid back but still very determined, conscientious, and confident. His clothes don’t say anything but “hey, we’re clothes.” Liam finds this incredibly boring but nonetheless endearing. This dynamic says so much about them as a couple - even before they’re a couple - and I was completely charmed by it.

Liam and Eric have to get past some hurdles, namely their perceptions of who the other is, and who they’re supposed to be. Even when they give in to their incredible chemistry, they have a harder time letting themselves be vulnerable. Liam, especially, had his fair share of hang ups, but he got there in the end, and the HEA was truly lovely.

Tropes: found family, enemies to lovers
Feels: 3/5
Steam*: 3/5
Kinks: none
Angst: low
HEA: yes
Triggers/potential icks: none

Eric is a 27 year old hotel manager. His hotel has just been taken over by another company. Liam is sent by the other company to bring the hotel under their company umbrella, implement any changes needed for the transition. It's a family run company, Liam is used to wealth and getting whatever he wants.

They are attracted to each other from the beginning. Eric resents the changes Liam wants. And Liam is a bit of an ahole.

It's a nice enough story. I liked the premise, the sexual tension between them. I liked how Eric was accidentally so expressive of his every emotion and didn't realize it.

It took a while for the characters to start to be likable/relatable. Like Liam was dressed in edgy color combinations and applauding himself for being fashionable, looking down on others. While other characters were making fun of his wild looks. Flamboyant dressing is fine, just don't be a snobbish ahole lol. And Liam kept patting himself on the back for all his hookups and how he could get anyone. Great, you're sexually active and attractive, don't be an ahole about it.

Then when things were looking up, and they were being all cute with their accidental sleepovers that last an entire weekend and clearly hooking up was becoming more... They had to be immature dumbasses and not use words. I like a book where the conflict is more significant then "I'm just too dumb to try to communicate". I prefer to be thinking "oh they're struggling" instead of "oh they're dumb". Lol.

Some notable moments:

"Forcing my lips off of him, I stepped back. A trace of disappointment flashed across his face that quickly turned into surprise when I pushed him on top of the bed. He let out a startled yelp, but was quick to get with the program as he pulled me down to him."

"Pulling back, I clawed at his clothes, tugging at the horrendously ugly half polka dot, half striped dress shirt he deemed appropriate to wear today. It seemed that he was used to making terrible decisions."

"His eyes shifted from the aisle and landed on me as if he felt me staring. He looked surprised for a split second before breaking out into a blinding smile that almost had me swooning. I was so done. This man had captured me."

*FYI, I rate steam based on a combination of quality & quantity. I note kink separate from steam because I don't want to underrate steamy reads that don't have much kink."

"He wasn't supposed to want me, but he still did. And hell if that wasn't a good feeling."

Okay, it's official. Liam and Eric are my favorite of the series. I can say that with conviction because The Cocky Neighbor is sadly the last book in the Corio Heights series. I really enjoyed all the books and loved the whole friend group aspect of it all. Seriously, I want to be invited to game night at Jason and Wills! It also made me laugh because Eric swore he would never move into the building because it caused its residents to fall in love and then he went and fell in love with someone who already lived there instead. Man I love irony.

Liam was NOT what I expected from seeing him in previous books and I freaking loved that surprise. The man was a fashionista, yet he was also toppy AF. He liked to be obeyed, yet Eric liked nothing more than to disobey him. It was fun seeing Eric push the envelope so to speak to see what he could get away with. Their sexual tension was in the stratosphere by the time these two finally succumbed. I feel like this was the steamiest of the series, which may also play a part in me liking this book the best. I do love me some good steam after all.

One thing I loved was how cute it was when Liam tried to subtly show Eric what it would be like to date him without actually saying the words. He'd do sweet things like drop off a coffee or a little snack that showed he was thinking of him. Honestly, I think it went way over Eric's head what he was trying to do, but it must have subconsciously worked somehow because ya know "spoiler alert," they end up together in the end. I'm bummed this is the last book in the series but will keep an eye out for what comes next from this author.

I can't believe this is the final book of the series. I've thoroughly enjoyed all of the couples that we've met along the way and the strong group of friends and neighbours that has built up. It's perfect that it's the landlord, Liam, who also happens to be Lucas's brother from the previous book, and Zack's best friend, Eric, who we met in book one, that get their HEA.
Theirs is an entertaining story as a lot of the time, especially at work, they are at odds with each other as Liam's family has just taken ownership of the hotel that Eric is the manager of. Their attraction is immediate but workplace romance shouldn't happen, Liam knows that and Eric is a hookups only kind of guy but once they've given in, it's hard to stop and deny what they enjoy so much. I really liked the back and forth between the two and how Eric stood up for himself and his staff. Not something Liam is used to but definitely appreciates. When they do connect, it's hot with an edge of dominance but also it stays fun between them. It's only when starting to think about things that it gets complicated. It's a slow burn romance when it comes to an emotional connection but they get pretty close very quickly.
It's so good to be back at Corio Heights and the group of men that have come to mean so much to each other. The bonds of friendship shine through and hopefully we get some bonus scenes in the future.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Firstly let me say I got this book from Gay Romance Reviews and this is me leaving my review.
Eric couldn’t of picked a worse day to be running late. The hotel he was manager of had just been sold to a leading hotel business and that day he was meant to meet someone from there company. And guess what they were already there talking to his work force making it obvious that he was late. He was taken aback at how sexy this guy was it wouldn’t mind hooking up with him!
Liam was not impressed that he was kept waiting. It didn’t look good for the manager, he knew he couldn’t sack him just because but he would be keeping a eye on him. When when he saw Eric he would be keeping an eye on him for different reasons. He man was hot!
Wow this connection that Eric and Liam had was like an Excelerator near a fire. They could rub each other the wrong way in seconds but when they touched wooooohoooooo it was exciting. Once they start talking to each other everything else slotted into place after all they both were just looking to hook up nothing serious or were they?? This is a super easy read that just made my heart single. A great series. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next.

So, this is the last book in this series, but it is not important to have read the books before. I read two of the previous books and more or less liked them.

So I was curious what this one would be like, and I have to say, I really enjoyed Eric's and Liams story.
They worked together, and it was enjoyable to read their story. I was a bitbtsken aback by their age because, for me, they seemed older and more mature than mid-twenties.

All in all a good, feel-good read.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author. These two were super cute! Liam manages to come off as both quirky and rigid (at work). He has high expectations when it comes to work, and that puts him up against Eric. These two “bicker like an old married couple,” especially since Liam loves to push Eric’s buttons, but Eric isn’t one to just back down (outside of the bedroom). This book was a light hearted, low angst, and not a super plot heavy read, which was exactly what I needed today. I also liked getting to see the couples from the previous books in the series. It’s not necessary to have read their books to read this one, but meeting them 100% made me want to go back and read their books, especially Caleb and Jason (not a couple, two different books). Overall, I fully enjoyed this book, and will be adding the others in this series to my TBR.

A guide to my rating scale:
5 ⭐️ - Books that I love and they really impacted me (ie: made me cry, kept me laughing from beginning to end, set the standard for my book boyfriend, etc). These are the books that I usually end up wanting a physical copy of, and/or I read over and over again.
4⭐️ - Books that I fully enjoyed and would read again or more by that author
3⭐️ - These books were ok, but I probably wouldn’t read again
2⭐️ - Books that were meh. I finished it, but only because I forced myself to.
1⭐️ - I don’t think I’ve ever given this rating, but this is reserved for problematic books.

Eric and Liam 🔥
4 Stars ⭐️

I hate to see this series go, but it ended perfectly, Liam finally gets his HEA!!

Liam's story was the perfect mix of humor (especially on Liam's wardrobe choices 🤭) chemistry, push/ pull which was sexy AF and sweetness!! I couldn't have picked a better way to close this series!!! I would most definitely recommend.

This book hooked me from the start but then again, I've loved the entire series. Eric and Liam’s story was just so good that I devoured it quickly. I'm sad to see this series is ending but I'm definitely going to reread them all again.

The Cocky Neighbor by Rye Cox is the fifth and last book in the Corio Heights series. I have enjoyed it as much as I have enjoyed all the titles in the series. I was waiting for Liam’s book and it has fulfilled my expectations.

I first fell in love with Caleb and Zach in book one, and I followed with all of them. It’s like Eric said: “the damn Cupid had his eyes on me long before I’d even moved in, and as I stayed longer in Corio Heights, I’d turned into his latest victim and had lost my heart as well.” This is me falling in love with all the couples in Corio Heights.

In this book Eric and Liam get their HEA. We met Eric in the first book. He’s Zack’s best friend. Liam, Lucas’ brother, is the landlord who owns the building, who bought it for its tenants to have a safe place to live.

Liam is Eric’s new boss after the acquisition of Roslyn Hotels by the Wright Group. He’s the one in charge of the transition. Eric is the hotels manager. Although the first impression they have on each other is not the best one, their attraction is immediate.

They have to work together for the best interests of the hotel. Liam likes pushing Eric’s buttons and he stands for himself not letting Liam get on him, like it was their foreplay. They start as friends with benefits, but little by little they realise they are the best one for each other and so their story goes.

“You came into my life destined to become a huge pain in my a**, but you’re my pain in my a**, one that I never knew I needed. You made everything more colourful and so full of life.”

This story is an awesome finishing end to the series. It was nice to see all the characters again, all the couples being happy and living their HEAs. It’s been a series I’ve enjoyed a lot and I’m sure I’ll read them again. Thank you Rye for having built this wonderful neighborhood with such amazing characters.

"I knew now that relationships weren't meant to keep someone tied down. It was the opposite. When you were with someone you loved, you became their strength, their wings to help them fly and be whoever they wanted."

I enjoyed this book and I recommend it. Although it can be read as a standalone, it’s better if read as a series.

I received an ARC from the author for free and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

This is the perfect way to end this tremendous and sweet series. And though I hate not to visit them for more stories, I loved the time visiting the men of Corio Heights.

Eric almost slid under the radar to not get more of his story told. I "almost" forgot all about Zach's Best Friend, a man who wants to live his hook-up to hook-up because he doesn't believe there is such a thing as forever true love and committed relationships, and two definitely doesn't think he will ever have one. But if he was right, why can't he shake all the different things and feelings regarding Liam?

Liam only wants to make his brother proud and make their newest acquisition the perfect addition to the family business. Though he has given many a safe home, he still is lost, or so he thought. He doesn't need or want the distraction of a hook-up, let alone something more. But why does the distraction grow the more he tries to ignore it or avoid the cause, Eric.?

Once they decide to try to get past this and make a quick end to things, keep it to their routine, and only be a hook-up, that end seems elusive. Why? from the office shenanigans to Thursday game night, one first in a while and one first ever, to all the sweet designs and treat to show one there are more truths and things to a real relationship.

And we get visits from our other favs, from game nite to getting advice to our original couple true HEA, and this story stays true to our writer's style and heart; here to all of our guys HEA, including these two.

I've really enjoyed the Corio Heights series from the start and this final book had a very different vibe, being enemies-to-lovers with a touch of employer/employee taboo, that made for a fun read.

High-end hotel GM Eric and owner's rep (aka Eric's new boss) Liam want to keep a professional distance, and disliking each other would make that so much easier. They nearly succeed, too, if not for a pesky, lingering, undeniable, blazing hot attraction for one another.

I liked how they blew hot and cold toward each other initially, which confused and irritated the heck out of both of them (hello, mixed signals). It's what helps make an enemies-to-lovers romance crackle and spark, and credit to the author for making their dynamic interesting and believable rather than frustrating.

Liam's outrageous fashion sense - flashy purple suit meets leopard print tie? Love it - is endearing, along with Eric's complete lack of a poker face. Their love story has an opposites-attract feel, but really, they're not that opposite below the surface. It just takes them a while to realize that, and it's a sweet journey. And they both have a soft spot for feeding stray cats, too...adorable.

Reading the previous Corio Heights books isn't necessary to fully enjoy this one, but it's a sweet series worth reading in-full just because. I received an advance reading e-copy of this book and have left this honest review voluntarily. (Also read in KU.)

I’m sad this was the final book in the Corio Heights series. This series of neighbours and friends has been a delight. So many wonderful guys finding love. It’s no wonder Eric thinks there is something in the water there.

Eric and Liam’s story is entertaining. This opposite attracts, employee/boss duo. Eric, the only non-resident of the Corio Heights friends group, is the manager of a local hotel. A hotel that has been acquired by the Wright Family. The Wright family owns and runs half of the city. And Liam, the youngest son, has been sent in to oversee the transition.

Liam is cocky (surprise!) and immediately finds himself at odds with Eric. As the tension rises, it’s hard to know if it’s because of business or their underlying attraction.

Maybe they can just have some fun and move on. The problem is, they have too much fun, and they actually enjoy each other’s company.

They may get hot and heavy pretty fast, the rest is an emotional slow burn, and Corio Heights claims another couple.

Looking forward to what Rye brings us next, but I’ll miss this loved-up group of men.

I’ve really enjoyed this series from Rye Cox and sad to see it end but this was a great conclusion. In this installment, the story focuses on Eric and Liam. Liam is the landlord for Corio Heights where the rest of the prior MCs live. The majority of the story takes place outside of the building and although I absolutely recommend reading the prior ones, you can read as a standalone.

Eric is the manager of one of the luxury hotels that’s just been taken over by a new company. After a less than spectacular first impression, he’s constantly butting heads with one of the family members who is now owns the hotel, Liam. There’s a tension that is there and both deny the attraction for as long as they can.

I love that Liam is the caring, nurturing one - making meals for Eric, being the one to initiate cuddling, dropping off treats/snacks (seriously the way to my heart) and the one who seems to want the tender side of a relationship. It seems like it would be completely opposite to his tough and brash work personality and that makes it even sweeter cause it was so unexpected.

I enjoyed that each of them has their own snarky work bestie that helped shed light and offer their opinions. And seeing prior characters was great as a catch up on previous storylines. A fun series to read and enjoy! This is my honest and fair review.

I’m a Corio Heights lover, through and through. I’ve been waiting for Liam to get his story and get to know him better. He’s been around for the whole series, just as a background character, on the sidelines, waiting his turn. Enter Eric. Eric’s job puts him in Liam’s path because Liam’s family now owns the hotel that Eric manages.
While their story takes twists and turns, the story is low-angst and has enough heat to make you need to fan yourself through those scenes. From their first meeting that comes on the one day Eric is late for work to Liam’s push & pull mentality when it comes to… fraternizing with an employee to their inevitable happy ending, Rye brings us the conclusion that we’ve been simultaneously dreading and anticipating. Liam and Eric are couple goals, once they get out of their own way. The cameos by the other Corio Heights guys don’t hurt either.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and, as always, my review is honest and unpaid.

The Cocky Neighbor is book 5 of the Corio Heights series. I read this as a standalone and had no issues with side characters from the previous books. I will say that I’d love to know more about them after reading this one so I will happily go check them out.

Eric is the general manager of a luxury hotel in a smaller town. He is laid back and while all of his buddies are coupling up, he is of the firm mindset that one night stands are perfectly fine. One and done. Walls up high.

Liam is a Wright, therefore he has a reputation to maintain and one of them is a playboy. His family company has acquired Eric’s hotel and he comes to help with the transition. Their attraction is instant and very hard to resist.

Liam is vivid and lives out loud. Eric is muted and lives slightly muted. Liam loves to rile Eric up, who is so easy to bait. They start off as friends with benefits but the walls crumble the more time they spend together.

This story was sweet and funny. I really enjoyed reading it. At times the writing was campy but overall didn’t detract at all from my solid 4 ✨ rating. I am adding books 1-4 to my tbr 😉

✨ boss/employee
✨ enemies (loosely) to lovers
✨ sneaky trysts

This is the fifth and final book in the Corio Heights series. I really enjoyed it. This time the focus is on Eric and Liam. Eric is the manager for an upscale hotel. He is a one and done kind of guy. Relationships aren't for him. His childhood home life drilled that truth into him. The hotel where he works has just been bought by Wright family. Liam is the youngest brother of the Wright family. He has assumed the job to review and update the hotel that they have just purchased. He is filling in for his older brother and wants to make him proud. The first time these two meet is the day that Eric is late for work. Sparks fly between the two of them right from the start. It made me cheer for them to finally find their HEA. It came around again when we find out that all of Eric's friends actually live in the building owned by Liam. It was like it was meant to be. This is their story. The book is well written and easy to read. I really enjoyed it. I look forward to future books by this author.

AU REVOIR CORIO HEIGHTS!

And so we say goodbye to the gang of Corio Heights with a sad smile….

In the last book of the series we get a much deeper look into the landlord of Corio Heights and younger brother of Lucas-Liam Wrights story.

We met Zack’s single commitment phobe best friend Eric Wells at the many Thursday night board-game parties at Corio Heights.

Now we learn how he and Liam’s paths cross and why he is so scared of relationships….

I loved their banter and teasing not to mention the flirting but Liam is Eric’s new boss at the Roslyn Hotel
and Eric only does hookups… and Liam wants more…

“Being with Eric felt different. There was a connection between us that I hadn't felt with any of my other one-night stands.”

I laughed at the antics of the couples of Corio Heights when a game of Pictionary turned into to so much more…

“They bicker like an old, married couple," Zack whispered to Caleb as they chuckled. I overheard and glared at my best friend.”

"We do not," I said with a huff.”

All it took was a month to fall…

This is their story…

I voluntarily received an ARC from GRR for my honest opinion on this story.

No! I’m not READY!! The men of Corio Heights have quickly become a favorite of mine. Rye Cox writes emotional stories with sweet happy endings that reel you in.

Just as we’ve always known Eric as the fun loving friend that didn’t want romance in his life, we’ve always known Liam as the landlord of the building and a friend to Ian and Noah. With all the game nights, it truly is a wonder they had never met before the Wrights bought the hotel chain that Eric worked for. Eric and Liam have such chemistry. Keeping their hands off each other at work becomes a challenge, but at game night? All bets are off!

This series is so beautiful! I read the Flirty Neighbor first by accident in January of 2022 and very quickly fell in love with the writings of Rye Cox. I knew that Eric and Liam would be the final book and I have to admit that part of me was loathe to read it as if pretending that it did not exist meant the series would never end. I can say that I am so happy to have read it, loved it, and seen it through to the end. This series marked the beginning of my reading adventure with Rye Cox and I look forward to more of her books in the future.

This book made me sad. Not the book itself, but the fact that the Corio Heights series is officially over with it. When I ignored that fact, this book made me incredibly happy because it was so cute.

The last neighbor we get to watch fall in love in Corio Heights is the landlord, Liam. After his family's company takes over a local hotel, he is sent there to put the necessary changes into effect. What he doesn't expect is for there to be changes in his life. That is until he meets Eric, the hotel's general manager.

The attraction between the two men is palpable from the moment their eyes meet. The tension is as well. They butt heads - frequently. Eric isn't afraid to call Liam out, despite the fact that Liam is his boss. The attraction grows when they realize they have friends in common - mainly the people in the Corio Heights apartment complex. Since, as we know, Liam is the landlord. While Eric doesn't live there, he's friends with a lot of the guys there.

The love story between them is believable. There is a lot of back and forth between them, each of them claiming that this is the last time they hook up. It makes sense with their professional relationship, but it got tedious after a few go rounds. (I'm sure it was more tedious for them - if they were real.)

I also loved that we got to check in on all the other couples from this series. They all made appearances and we got a few great group scenes with most of the couples there.

I'm sad this series is over, but its one I will definitely be revisiting in the future.

A phenomenal ending!

This book is amazing and I loved it! The Curio Heights series sadly comes to an end with this final tale - that of Liam and Eric - and what a tale it is! The fireworks start immediately between the two. They meet when Liam shows up at the hotel where Eric is the manager. The company Liam’s family owns has bought the hotel and he is there to bring it up to their company standards. Their first meeting doesn’t go well and the two will continue to antagonize each other as they work together. I love the way their relationship changes and develops as the story unfolds. Feelings will develop but since there is a bit of stubbornness involved, they are a bit one sided in the beginning. Eric fears relationships because of what he saw with his parents but eventually, Liam and a few others, will convince Eric that it is worth taking the chance. And take that chance he will!

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

Cocky Neighbor is the last in the Corio Heights series by Rye Cox and I think it is one of my favorites. Eric is the Manager of the newest hotel in the chain LIam’s family has purchased. From the start there is a total pull towards each other that both men know is wrong, as they are basically employer and employee but sometimes the heart wants what it wants, even if it's not the heart in the beginning. Eric is afraid of commitment and Liam never thought he deserved it so both men need to step out of their comfort zone to find their HEA. I have enjoyed the series and am sad to see it end but can’t wait to see what the author brings us next. The author brings us stories of life, love and finding (or reuniting/realizing) your true love. The stories are sweet with little angst, just how I enjoy my romance. Definitely a great read and recommend starting the series from the beginning. Enjoy!

This is the final story to the Corio Heights series and I have loved getting to know all of the neighbours. Each story introducing different characters, made it a fab series. This book had a final feeling to it; like all of the loose ends were being tied up. Most of this story takes place in a hotel which leads to lots of illicit encounters. Locked doors, store cupboards and bedrooms; made the scenes very hot and steamy. Both MC's were very intense and their attraction towards each other was immediate. We were not fooled by the constant snipes and bickering for one minute, it was obviously another form of fore play . So glad they figured their true feelings out and gave themselves the happy ending they had both longed for. I will miss this series and await future new releases from Rye. I received an advance review copy for free, and Ieaving this review voluntarily.

Teasing, Laughter, and So Much Color

‘I knew now that relationships weren't meant to keep someone tied down. It was the opposite. When you were with someone you loved, you became their strength, their wings to help them fly and be whoever they wanted.’

Liam and Eric’s love story, The Cocky Neighbor, is the fifth and final book in Rye Cox’s Corio Heights series.

This group of friends has certainly provided us with hours of reading pleasure, and to watch both Eric and Liam fight their way to love was sweet and steamy, silly and sassy, and especially sentimental.

I am a sucker for a great series, and this was one. I loved watching Eric eventually break down those walls so he could rebuild them with Liam. And watching Liam lose his protected heart to the sweetness of Eric’s love was so rewarding for them both!

This was probably the wrong place to start this series but I thought this was a standalone. I enjoyed the secondary characters enough that I will go back and catch up.
This story is really fun. Instant attraction, enemies to…and probably more. Two guys that are pretty happy with the lives they are living. Eric, manager of a hotel with a work husband who has his back. Relationships he doesn’t feel ready to have other than friends or one nighters. Then his hotel is bought out and he has a new boss.
Liam is part of a family whose company involves many layers. Liam is given the task of overseeing the take over of the new hotel. When he meets the manager, he is thrown for surprise.
Cute and fun read. A lot of side characters to make it more interesting.

I've loved every book in this series, and while I’m sad that it’s over it certainly ended on a high. Finally, we have Liam and Eric's story. They are instantly attracted to each other when they meet but are reluctant to act on their feelings as they have to work together. Watching their interactions as they got closer was so much fun, and they made the perfect couple. I also loved that we got to catch up with previous couples from the series and share some more in their lives too.
This was a sweet, fun story with heart and heat, that was a great ending to a wonderful series, and I highly recommend this book.
I received a copy of this book from GRR to review, and this is my honest and voluntary opinion.

The final book in the Corio Heights series is still ok to read without having read the rest, but you will encounter 4 other happy couples whose stories you'll have missed out on.

Eric and Liam butt heads from their first interaction, but simmering underneath is some definite sexual tension. At first, they try to deny their attraction, but when they give in, neither are looking for a relationship only a chance to release some sexual tension. Only sometimes, feelings creep their way in and though both try to deny they want more, well, we know how that usually ends. I liked both Liam and Eric and think they were exactly what the other needed.

This is a low angst sweet romance and a good end to the series.

Liam and Eric were so cute and so not ready for one another. Each was kind of set in his ways and neither was willing to wait to get to know one another before they decided what they thought about one another. That didn't stop them from being affected by one another. They started with the snarky banter, moved on to the hot co-workers with benefits and landed head over heels in love with one another having painted themselves into a let's keep it casual arrangement. Their confessions to one another about how they really felt after a time was really sweet and vulnerable. Of course, things got pretty hot afterwards but that was not a surprise. These two were fun to read about on their way to their HEA. 4.5 stars for a fun courtship.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I'm not too big of a fan of cocky "I'm hot shit" guys but this wasn't too bad. I think it just got off to a bad start with Eric being late the day the new boss takes over and then they just butt heads over some things that probably made a bit of sense, however they can't keep their hands off each other despite Eric insisting it's "just sex". We all know how that goes. Although he had some valid reasons for not wanting a relationship. I haven't read ALL of the other books in the series and there are several scenes with other couples from previous books as they are all friends, but if you don't really care about the background of how some folks got together, it's fine. On the whole I enjoyed it.

This was a fun read. I really like Liam in the previous book, so I’m very happy to get his story. I love snarky banter and Eric and Liam have some first rate snark. I love how prickly they are with each other. They have a pretty instant attraction but stubbornly refuse to admit it, which was fun to read. Enemies to lovers is a favorite trope of mine, but it can be tricky to make two MCs believable enemies but not also make them pretty unlikable. This had the good balance, despite the constant sniping and button pushing, I was still rooting for these two. Great ending to this wonderful series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
