Love, served extra dirty.

Jesse Murtagh loves his life as a wealthy bisexual businessman dedicated to the pursuit of pleasure. With a circle of friends he trusts implicitly, he enjoys a successful career in his family’s business and as co-owner of Under, an uptown speakeasy, with his friend with benefits, Kyle McKee.

Music teacher and part-time DJ Cameron Lewis lives modestly in a DUMBO loft and isn’t interested in serious relationships. However, he’s always up for some casual fun.

Doing a favor for his friend Carter Hamilton, Jesse meets Cam and is immediately charmed. When Jesse discovers Cam’s other life as a DJ, he is further intrigued. Viewing Cam as a challenge, Jesse pulls out all the stops, but his usual methods to avoid serious relationships fail. Though Cam has no intention of becoming attached, he begins to fall for Jesse, unaware that Jesse’s feelings are changing.

Afraid of heartbreak, Cam pulls away, leaving Jesse bewildered and hurt. They remain friends until a series of misunderstandings widens the rift to breaking point. When Cam steps in to help Jesse through a family crisis, they realize they care for each other more than they’ve been willing to admit. Jesse and Cam don’t want a traditional relationship, but can they build a future that makes them both happy?

Reader advisory: This book contains scenes of mmm ménage as well as references to homophobia and recreational drug use.

You know there are stories and there are STORIES. This one is in capitals.
Goshh what a wonderful fulfilling read this was, as like the circle is round.
Extraordinary relationships and all breathtaking to watch.

Jesse and Kyle are business partners owning the speakeasy Under and best friends with benefits. They love the love and they love to hang out with others also, a third as addition they welcome, but no strings!! Free spirits with a lot of true friends, both the need to please those friends.
Jesse is intrigued with Cameron besides being a music teacher he is a DJ and playing gigs in the weekends. Cam thinks of Jesse as out of his league, far out. Jesse is determined to start something with Cam, to some degree it works. They have a more than great time together, sexy funny, with expensive trips, Jesse has the money and let it roll.
Cam isn’t open with Jesse and when Cam withdraws because he thinks he will get hurt by Jesse, it is Jesse who’s got hurt.

Every aspect in this story was thoroughly worked out. Written in a pleasant pace, no rush, also not too slow.
I loved Jesse, he’s a passionate free spirit, he’s charming, good mannered and humored, witty, generous and vulnerable. He is my absolute favorite in this story!
There is a lot a fun around, conversations, jokes, shopping, diner, traveling.
Even when things are getting bad, everyone is uplifting and jokes are still doing the job.

This story has an amazing content. With extraordinary characters and not only the main!
All their life beautifully entwined and equally split throughout this story.
Tremendously written, a charming, engaging and vividly illustrated, enthralling story.

Highly recommended.

Extra Dirty builds off of the first book in the Speakeasy series, With a Twist, but also builds off of the earlier Tidal series from the authors. This book is one of my favorites from these authors and while I fully recommend it, it may be more difficult to pick this one up on its own. Jesse is a prominent side character in many of the previous books, he had a relationship with Carter, and Carter and Riley and the larger group dynamics are a part of this book.

Jesse intrigued me from early on and he’s one of those scene-stealing characters. While he’s charming, attractive, and successful, he’s a good friend and is upfront with his partners. Jesse is not at all about monogamy and he’s clear and open about that. He and his business partner, Kyle, are a regular item in the bedroom or behind the bar, and while he would never intentionally hurt a partner, he does like variety and his status offers him an array of opportunities.

Loved this story about a less than conventional romance. Jesse the rich playboy prefers friends with benefits and knows monogamy is not something he ever wants. Cam is swept off his feet but he thinks he knows the score and is determined to enjoy himself until he’s kicked to the curb. Neither one knows what to do with themselves when they start catching feelings, so naturally they screw it up. Lemme tell y’all, this was hot with extra sizzle! There is a threesome at one point but I liked how all the characters were portrayed as very conscious of each other’s boundaries and consent. There’s also a good mix of people from the prior Speakeasy book as well as Wake.

The plot was engrossing with alternating POV and plenty of dialogue between everyone to keep things moving forward at a good pace. It’s a lack of communication theme with pesky assumptions, not sharing important thoughts and questions with each other. Sometimes that can annoy me but I can get that navigating the path to an open relationship can be extra tricky. It didn’t get over-dramatized, just made me sad for the two of them hurting. I would have enjoyed seeing more discussion about emotions and expectations but the authors made their actions and progress logical and believable. Very enjoyable and I can’t wait to see what happens with Kyle. Did I hear something about a firefighter?!

There is a lot to love about Extra Dirty, the second book in the Speakeasy series by writing duo K Evan Coles and Brigham Vaughn. I loved both MCs, the setting is super fun and vibrant, and the supporting cast is FANTASTIC. I adored all of Jesse’s friends, including Kyle, his swoony business partner and sometime lover, and I loved, loved both Jesse’s and Cam’s families. Jesse’s brother and sister-in-law play significant roles in the story, and we see enough of Cam’s family to get a good glimpse at where he comes from as well. And, every scene that took place at Under – Jesse and Kyle’s bar – or included their close-knit group of friends, made me want to know more about all of them.

The Speakeasy series is a spinoff of the authors’ previous two-book collaboration, the Tidal series. Readers of Wake and Calm will have already been introduced to both Jesse Murtagh, and his business partner, Kyle McKee; however, there is no need to worry if, like me, you are new to their work. I didn’t read the Tidal series, and, in fact, also haven’t read With a Twist, the first book in this series, but I in no way felt lost jumping right in with Extra Dirty. Coles and Vaugh do a great job at making sure this book stands alone. There is plenty of background to ensure that you easily fall in love with both Jesse and Cameron. 😉

Let’s talk about the guys a little bit… Jesse is so great, you guys. Handsome, smart, big-hearted, and, honestly one of the most genuine characters I’ve read in a while. What you see is what you get with Jesse. He’s a straight shooter, genuine about who he is, and people always know where they stand with him. He’s a player, yes, but he’s also loved, or at least well-liked, by everyone in his life. Even his exes adore him. Poor Cameron pretty much doesn’t stand a chance at resisting the Murtagh charm. Cam is also big-hearted and genuine, but is perhaps a little less sure of himself, or not quite on Jesse’s level when it comes to self-awareness. It takes him a bit longer to realize and admit what he wants out of their relationship, and to figure out how to get it. Neither man wants a stereotypical, monogamous relationship, but they do want each other. Wanting more is new territory for both of them…they just need to figure out how to make it all work.

I enjoyed this story so much. Overall, the flow was great, and I really liked where Coles and Vaughn took the guys and their relationship. I had a couple of little niggles with the conflict – I didn’t entirely love the execution, and how a certain character seemed to do a complete one-eighty – but, I did like the resolution and really loved the end of the story. Cam and Jesse were great together, and their chemistry was fabulous. They really brought out the best in each other. 😊

I’m so glad I got to read an advanced copy of this. And, I can’t wait to read Kyle’s book!! I’ll for sure be keeping an eye on this series, and other future work by both Coles and Vaughn. Definitely check this one out, guys!

This is a rarity for me and when I say "rarity" I mean RARE, as in perhaps only a dozen times in the 40 years I've been reading. I loved Extra Dirty even more than book 1 in the authors' Speakeasy series, With a Twist. That's right, Jesse and Cam burrowed even deeper into my heart than Will and David. When I read a series that has a different pairing in each entry, the first couple is 98% of the time my favorite the same as when a character is recast in the middle of a television series, not neccessarily because the first is actually better but having been the first to be familiar with they stand out more. I guess it has more to do with the way a person's mind works😉😉.

Anywho, back to Extra Dirty.

I knew that whenever Jesse Murtagh was going to be given his own book that it would be something special just because he has been such an amazing and interesting supporting character from the first time we met him way back in Coles & Vaughn's Tidal duology. His spirited nature and look on life is infectious and whether we want to admit it or not, most of us wish we had more of that lease-on-life in our daily dealings. I also think its been pretty obvious that no matter how much fire is between Jesse and his business partner Kyle McKee, they were never going to have the be-all-end-all kind of connection, course that doesn't mean the fire can't be lit now and then😉.

As for Cameron Lewis, well what's not to love about Cam? He may be a bit younger than Jesse but he's just as intriguing and spirited to catch Jesse's eye. I love the connection of him being the music teacher to Carter's kids(for those who don't know who Carter is he and Riley are the stars of the authors' Tidal duology and a must read because well WOW!). Now, New York may be jam-packed with people but sometimes life really is a small world and whether you believe in coincidence or fate, we meet the people we need to meet at exactly the right time, which is what puts Jesse and Cam in each other's sight.

One thing I love most about the pair is that despite everything they don't try to change each other and sometimes that means they don't communicate like they should but I'd rather read a story of communication problems than changing someone. I firmly believe that if you don't like the way the person is that you feel the need to change them then why are you with them? I guess its just a pet peeve of mine so when authors don't use the "changing people" concept I love the book even more. As I said, this meant that there were times that communication wasn't there which left me wanting to bang their heads together but then if everything came easy-peasy for Jesse and Cam, Extra Dirty would have been a very short short story instead of the amazing dramatic yet fun-filled full length novel that it is.

It's hard to imagine Carter/Riley and Will/David as secondary characters after they've had their own stories told but they fill the roles expertly and really prove how friends are family. Speaking of family, I just want to add how much I loved the fact that both Jesse and Cam's families were supportive, friendly, and amazing, especially Jesse's brother and sister-in-law. Their scenes may have been limited but they owned every page they were on.

One last note: yes, Speakeasy is a series that can be read as standalones due to a different pairing for each entry but it is my personal opinion that it is a universe(I say "universe" because I think Tidal duology that told Carter & Riley's journey is included) that is even better read in order. I found that knowing each couple's story makes the friendships and connections flow better, however, I can also honestly say you will not be lost if you start with Extra Dirty. Whatever order you read this in you definitely should experience it because K Evan Coles and Brigham Vaughn have brought to life an incredibly amazing world of characters that you don't want to miss out on knowing.

Jesse Murtag, of ‘Extra Dirty’ by K. Evan Coles and Brigham Vaughn, is handsome and rich enough to have anything or anyone he wants and frequently takes advantage of it. However, when he picks up his friend’s kids from school one day, he meets their teacher, Cameron (Cam) Lewis, and he is intrigued with him. On a whim, Jesse and his friend visit a night club besides his own and discover that Cam is also a DJ. Seizing the opportunity, Jesse invites Cam to have a drink. During their time together, Jesse proposes getting to know him better. Cam turns him down flat. Jesse is not used to people saying no to him. But Cam’s refusal only fuels the fire inside of him, wanting, more than ever, to have Cam in his bed.

Cam kicks himself, but he knows he is right. Jesse is trouble with a capital T and wants to protect him from any involvement due to the real possibility of having his heart broken. Cam is no angel, but Jesse’s reputation gives him pause. Cam isn’t sure he can handle being one of Jesse’s many conquests, so he decides to let it go. Predictably, Jesse pursues Cam with a fervor while doing his best to convince Cam he is not such a bad guy. He invites Cam to his club Under and introduces him to his friends. Cam goes back and forth in his mind, trying to justify his self-denial, trying to decide whether or not his heart can withstand the assault of sensations that being with Jesse will surely bring. Finally, he succumbs to the temptation and starts an affair with Jesse.

Jesse is elated with Cam’s decision and makes the most of it in and out of bed. For their first date, Jesse and Cam fly in Jesse’s private plane to a place that specializes in a food that Cam casually mentioned as his favorite. One thing that Jesse likes about Cam is, although he enjoys the niceties that Jesse can offer him, it doesn’t influence the way he feels about him. Cam isn’t with Jesse just for that reason. Cam knows that if he gives in to his feelings for Jesse, it will be so painful that he doesn’t know if he will survive it. Therefore, he remains as aloof as possible, resisting letting Jesse into his heart. Another thing that bothers Cam is his close relationship with Jesse’s friend, Kyle. Cam knows they are involved sexually and it gives him pause. It seems that they are closer than they should be to be just casual. Jesse keeps asking Cam if they can have a threesome, but Cam isn’t sure that is what he wants to do, for several reasons. Eventually, his curiosity and sexual desire take over and he agrees. Cam, Jesse, and Kyle have an intense and satisfying session. Jesse is elated at being able to have the three of them together. For Cam, being with the Jesse and Kyle is exhilarating and intense, but the next morning, it is too much for Cam to handle. He needs some space to sort it all out. Instead of lingering there with Jesse, he grabs his clothes and sneaks out.

Jesse needed a certain amount of “freedom” that most people would not understand. I certainly don’t, but I will be the first to admit that I am old-fashioned, insecure, and too selfish to share “my” lover with anyone else. Yet, if that works for others, then who am I to judge? Being happy is more important than being “normal” and that’s what really matters. Thanks, K. Evan and Brigham, for finding a way for Jesse and Cam find their own special happily ever after.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This the second book in the series - I have to admit I read book 3 first, and am now catching up, before book 4 releases soon! I really enjoyed Behind the Stick, and did not regret going to back to the beginning. Was very pleased to find out that Jesse was the lead in this installment.

Jesse is the money behind the Speakeasy, partnered with Kyle, who is the genius behind the bar. He is a high powered business man; born and raised in a life of privilege. He is a hedonist and though he and Kyle often let off steam together, and with a third, he has no intention of ever settling down. He spreads his pleasure across a number of people, many of whom continue to be friends long after they move on and find love. He also has no trouble making it clear what he wants - so when he meets Cam djing at a nearby club, he shows his interest.

Cam is a school music teacher, and a dj on the side. He comes from a happy, simple life out of the city. He shares a flat with four others and leads a fairly normal life until he meets Jesse. Suddenly he is invited on rather a rollercoaster, glamorous lifestyle, but with absolutely no chance of commitment or permanence. He is enjoying meeting a whole new circle of friends, but always living on the edge of being out of it again. I thought it was really well described, and the flow of the story was beautifully paced.

The good news was that Jesse's friends were well aware that he and Cam could have a future, and they were prepared to force them to face the truth, communicate, rather than make assumptions.

Another great installment, and puts Behind the Stick in more context for me - I am very much looking forward to book 4 and catching up with the Thursday night Speakeasy family.

I’ve been waiting for Jesse’s story for the last year and a half, when I finished the second book in the Tidal series, Calm. I was intrigued by him and began to fall a little bit in love with him even back then, and I absolutely couldn’t wait to get into his head to see what made him tick. What I learned is basically what I already knew, he is sweet, loving, loyal to his friends and family, and someone you definitely want on your side.

As for Cam, well, I loved him from the minute I met him. He and Jesse fit so well together because they had a lot of those same traits, with being loving and loyal and an amazing friend.

The chemistry between Jesse and Cam was off the charts and they were smoking hot together. But it wasn’t just about the sex, I loved the back and forth banter between the two of them and I loved that when one of them needed the other, there was no question that they were there for them.

**••**SPOILER ALERT**••**

My issue and disappointment with this story is a personal preference.

FOR ME: True love and romance means that you find that one person that satisfies you in every way, and that person is enough. I had a feeling where this story was headed and I was disappointed to see it come to fruition.

What I craved from this story was for Jesse to meet that one person who made him not need to go out of the relationship for sex. Again, this is just my opinion, but for me, open relationships are like cheating with permission and I am far too insecure and jealous for that, both in real life and with my fictional characters.

I don’t want to debate with anyone about this issue, it’s just my person feelings on the subject.

**••**END OF SPOILER**••**

As with all the other stories I’ve read by these authors, the collaboration was seamless and I couldn’t tell where one author’s writing began and the other’s ended. The story is well-written and it flowed well. And of course, I thoroughly enjoyed getting to catch up with all of Jesse’s friends and family/the patrons of Under, but especially with Carter and Riley, because well, for me, it’s always about Carter and Riley, right?

While a part of the storyline didn’t quite work for me, this was still an enjoyable and definitely a recommendable read and I’m looking forward to reading Kyle’s story, and frankly anything else this duo plans to put out.

Steam, fun and all the feelings!

Extra Dirty was a lot of fun, plenty of steam and some great characters both main and secondary. I loved Jesse and Cam and felt they worked so well together and I really enjoyed the banter and humor the authors injected into this story! The secondary characters are great and I look forward to reading the previous books that include these other characters and can’t wait for Kyle’s book. There’s just something wonderful about Kyle and I can’t wait to learn more!!

I really enjoyed this take on an open relationship. I guess I was nieve in my understanding of what an open relationship entails but K Evan and Brigham have done wonders here, by injecting so much emotion and caring into Jesse and Cam and what they want for each other as well as together. I loved that the characters didn’t try and change each other and found it refreshing in their approach to being together, their love for each other, even though they are happy to share and I enjoyed the HFN ending and that the authors didn’t go over the top and stayed true to these characters and the lives they lead.

Not like anything else I've read, refreshingly original! A great, extra dirty and flirty read!!

Tanto la historia como la forma de desarrollarla y los personajes tenían posibilidades, pero no sé en qué falla y no acaba de funcionar. Se queda en una historia más sin fuerza y totalmente olvidable.

*3.5 - 4 stars*

Jesse Murtagh is a co-owner of a speakeasy Under, a wealthy businessman and an incorrigible playboy who always gets what he wants, or in other words the person he desires. However, he is also a good friend, so when Carter asks him for help and picking up his son from school, Jesse agrees immediately.
And this innocent favor leads to his meeting with Cameron Lewis, music teacher and DJ. Fascinated by this young, extremely attractive man, Jesse decides to learn about him as much as possible and eventually sleep with him. However, Cam turns out to be not an easy conquest, even if he's clearly interested in Jesse.

"Extra Dirty" is a novel that combines two well-known and undoubtedly popular motifs. The first of them is the taming of a notorious playboy by a rather inconspicuous but exceptional guy. The other one is simply a man who is afraid of commitment, but who begins to get involved, which gives us the impression that at some point he doesn't know what he wants, or knows, but… Exactly. The authors undeniably combined these two themes in an interesting way, and made them unique by linking them with two captivating characters. What's more, they added a few other themes to these motifs which has a positive effect on this novel. There is also no doubt that K. Evan Coles and Brigham Vaughn can surprise their readers in this volume, because the way they bring this story to an end is undoubtedly unexpected. I admit that I didn't even imagine such a finale and I'm not sure what to think about it, as in some respects I am rather conservative.

One of the additional and undeniably very important threads that appear in this novel is looking beyond the facade, seeing what type of person the one really is, having more than one face. This problem can be referred to both Jesse and Cam, which naturally makes it all the more important. It is also worth mentioning that the authors made sure that the reader already had some knowledge about the two main characters and who they are or seem to be. Thus, K. Evan Coles and Brigham Vaughn have the opportunity to show Jesse's and Cam's different faces not only to them, but also to us, readers. After all, the first one of them is a good friend and a playboy, while the other is a music teacher and a DJ. It goes without saying that the two of them must have a lot to offer in terms of their numerous facades.

In "Extra Dirty" I really liked the fact that the authors devoted a lot of attention not only to the main characters, but also to the whole group of friends from Under, their very close relationship, intimacy. We can say that K. Evan Coles and Brigham Vaughn managed to present the entire speakeasy circle as people who really seem to be somewhere in between lovers, family and friends, and thus they partly belong to these groups. The more so because in fact some of them really were lovers and friends. This motif is also important in the case of the above-mentioned facades and faces, thanks to which it is even more valuable and I like it a lot. The dynamics between the friends from Under is impossible to resist, so that what links or linked individual characters is so natural that it is difficult to imagine a situation in which they would not be so close to one another.

What sometimes irritated me while reading "Extra Dirty" was the pace of this novel. I was expecting something much faster, especially when having someone like Jesse as the main character. This man reminds me of action rather than talking over and over. And I must admit that there were dialogues in this book that didn't lead to anything significant, or they had their role in the story, but to fulfill it they seemed to take the longer "way". So I would say that "Extra Dirty" reminded me of a teenager's first dance with the person they like. What I have in mind is the kind of dance when you move away and move closer to your partner, without knowing what you are doing because you want something specific, but at the same time you don't want to impose on them or be ridiculous. In other words, the novel speeds up and then slows down, it takes a step forward, and then makes two steps back. At least that's my opinion.

In summary, "Extra Dirty" is undoubtedly a book that can please and surprise us. Admittedly, I liked the previous volume better, but I also consider this one to be quite good. I enjoyed reading this story, so I can definitely recommend it.

*3.5 - 4 gwiazdki*

No właśnie.

A tale of love, different kinds of love/relationships!

Jesse, what a guy! Handsome, sexy, successful, rich, and living the life he wants, or so he thought…..he didn’t want the big, happily-ever after type of love story, he wants to have moments, not monogamy, not tied down to one partner. He wants men, women, does not want to limit himself to just men or just women. We also meet Cameron Lewis, music teacher by day and DJ by night.

For someone who is reputed to be a hedonist, Jesse is extra sensitive, he takes care of everyone, especially the people he loves and those who mean so much to him, and he may not be obvious about it, but he is thoughtful and very sweet, I guess he is also very frightened of commitment because of heartache, afraid to put his heart out there.

I love all the characters in this book, K. Evan Coles and Brigham Vaughn have made them real, people we might have in our own lives. Their qualities, their flaws, their heartaches and fears are just like what you and me feel constantly. They are a colorful bunch(especially Jesse’s friends), each possessing qualities that somehow work within the group.

Jesse and Cam, different yet alike. I love ( and sometimes worry) how they are navigating this so-called partnership that they have, they are clueless most times, and I think that is where all the misunderstandings come from, the pain/aches are all because they are miscommunicating or not talking enough. The fact that they are trying to make things better can be construed that there are already a lot of feelings in it for them, they may not admit it, they might stick to being amenable to still going out with other people, but I guess if they continue as they are, they will get there eventually, hopefully, right K. Evan Coles and Brigham Vaughn?

There are a lot of sweet and awkward moments in this story, and I love every one of them even though at times I am at the brink of losing it, I am a “Happily ever after” kind of gal, so I can’t help it. I love it when they started talking and be open with each other, I mean really talking and expressing how they feel, why they’re scared and what they should do about it.

It is one of the most open, most real story I have read so far. Although I am a little surprise with some of the situations in the story, I am pretty advance in age so our ways in the ancient times were so so different, but I consider myself open-minded so I am trying to digest and understand all these. I love the openness and the notion of how different relationships can work for different types of people. It is a story that reflects that the human heart will always look for love, no matter how modern or how ancient we may be, LOVE IS LOVE, no matter what, and we try to protect it as much as we can! This story has given me moments when I just want to sit in the corner, contemplate and cry after. It has also given me relief and ear-to-ear grinning moments.

CONGRATULATIONS K. Evan Coles and Brigham Vaughn, for a heart-warming, as real as it gets, love story of two beautiful human beings who are as flawed and as capable of loving with all their heart as you and me! I am looking forward to the next chapter of these admirable characters! Thank you for sharing these wonderful characters.

All I can say about this book is: perfection! It is so damn good that It took me sometime to even write this. Because It really is that awesome! If you like well written characters, fun and sexy dialogues, some hot sex and why not? some Star Wars references, this is definitely a book for you to read!

Jesse, the uptown playboy with money and Cam, the Brooklyn school teacher and DJ on spare time may come from different worlds, but have one thing in common: they know exactly what they don't want: commitment. Anything close to a relationship is enough to make they run to the hills... Not looking for anything other than the no-strings-casual-sex, they meet a few times as ‘friends’, mainly because Cam has his reasons to it, but soon the attraction is more than they can handle… From there, we see the boys gettin’ down and dirty, in some sexy sexy, steamy hot encounters. And by hot I mean… really HOT - be aware, we have a MMM scene that it’s just… WOW!!! The couple start to enjoy each other, and as we can imagine, things start to get a little blurry. They set the limit, but realize it's not that simple when feelings get in the equation. Specially because they’re not quite ready to settle and see things from a new perspective.

This is my first book from the authors, and definitely won’t be the last. They made a great work on writing a not so conventional love story, with some twists and turns, real characters and exciting encounters. A nice change, for sure! I enjoyed the way the story developed, how Cam and Jesse stayed true to themselves until the end - about their limits, boundaries, feelings and everything -, and worked to find find a way to stay together, without losing their identity ...sometimes their lack of communication was annoying, unjustifiable at some point, but nothing overdone. They didn't tried to change each other, simply to fulfill expectations or regret later; we follow they learning to deal with new and scary emotions, without knowing what to do - hence the eventual screw up…

I also really liked that Brigham and K Evan were careful to explain - lightly , without compromising the book - the story of the Speakeasy Crew, how they get to know each other and how their paths crossed on Under. Family and friends area huge part of their lives, of who they are... A huge bonus for it, specially since I myself haven't read - yet - the previous books. So if you just met the gang... no worries, you won't feel like something is missing. And Kyle... How not to love him? At first I really thought he would be hurt or end up leaving for some reason. But the man is so sure of himself - even more than Jesse and Cam, if you ask me, has his feet so steady, It's impossible not want more for him, and his HEA. I can’t wait for his book , and Malcom’s too #fingerscrossed.

A 5+++ for sure! On my way to read the other books :)

Okay! So book two is a whole lot different than book one! I really enjoyed it and the characters were fascinating!

Jesse Murtagh who was introduced in the first novel is a lot of things... he's an independently wealthy businessman, co-owner of "Under" (The Speakeasy), bisexual, and a bit of a hedonist. Jesse is also a loving and committed friend, which is how he ends up picking up his friend's son from school and meeting his music teacher.

That music teacher is Cameron Hamilton. He's a day time teacher and nighttime DJ and he's interested in Jesse as soon as they meet. But! He's also hesitant to get involved with Jesse because the man's reputation proceeds him.

It's Jesse's friend and past sexual partner, Carter who finally approaches Cameron. He lets him know that he's not concerned about his son's teacher potentially seeing his friend... and he convinces Cam to come to "Under". Of course, once he takes him up on the invitation, he and Jesse hook up. Cameron wants a casual relationship and Jesse doesn't want a commitment. It seems perfect, right?

Here's the thing... Cam likes Jesse and the two men hit it off really well. But, when Cam finds himself developing feelings he panics. After all, Jesse has always been clear that he likes his life... and that's what Cam said he wanted. He feels as though he has no business changing things. This gives off some real mixed messages to Jesse and complicates what had been working well for both of them. The night that Cam finally wants a threesome another friend... marks the beginning of the end for him.

Things go really sideways in Cam's mind. But the main problem is communication! Argh! I thoroughly enjoyed being frustrated by these two characters. Ultimately - communication is what's lacking in their relationship. It's frustrating...but in the best possible way.

I really liked the style and feel of this installment. I was fascinated by the process of Jesse and Cam getting to know one another and negotiating their way through developing an "unusual" relationship. (Only in that it's not what most would consider the norm.) Jesse has a great perspective on life... and I loved that the authors made certain to illustrate how dedicated he was to his friends and partners. Really enjoyable!

This book is just GAH!! So much so, I was supposed to be buddy reading it and well I couldn’t put it down! I finished before she even got to 20%. Meep! The story is soo good. As soon as I was done I went back, started it again and had the same feels all over.

From the first time I “met” Jesse on page, a couple of books ago, I fell hard for him. I’ve been waiting for his book and I was not disappointed! He is fun, exciting, sexy as hell, and such a wonderful friend to so many. Being in Jesse’s head, feeling his feels and reactions made me love him even more. The love and care he has for those close to him is insurmountable.

Cam is fantastic. Even though I wanted to shake him at times, he still made me adore him. With a 10 year age gap and the difference in where he and Jesse were in their own lives brought different things to the forefront. Their feelings threw them for a loop and lack of communication takes them for a ride but the ending is perfect.

I cannot NOT mention the rest of The Speakeasy Crew. Gotta love Senator Sexy and the Professor. Carter, I seriously adore him as much as I do Jesse. Their friendship is beautiful and filled with love and care. Riley is honest and true, I so adore seeing he and Carter again. I’m intrigued by Malcom and what he is all about.

BUT, the one I started falling for even more was Kyle. He is freaking fantastic. He is such an amazing guy. He has an open heart, body, and mind, add in how loyal he is to his friends that’s it, he has me. The guidance and advice he gave to Cam and the support and honesty he has with Jesse shows his beautiful and loving character. I cannot wait for his book!

Last but definitely not least is Jesse’s brother, Eric, and sister-in-law, Sara. They are so funny and the closeness they share is beautiful. Jesse can’t hide anything from them. ;)

This group of people just adds so much fun and love to each and every book K and Brigham give us in this series. I’m so happy they are giving us more!

Ps. Did I mention you may need to fan yourself a few times. No?! Well you will, so get a fan and get to reading!

Extra Dirty is a fun and complex romance that centers around K Evan Coles' and Brigham Vaughn's Speakeasy world.

Jesse's a great guy who just happens to not believe in monogamy. He's been content sleeping around, and hooking up with his roommate and business partner Kyle. The real fun begins when Jesse meets Cam and he can't deny his interest in this teacher/DJ.

Jesse and Cam are super cute together. Their first meeting is entertaining and I just adore the way Jesse is with his friend's kids. As well, the kids are downright delightful.

The difference between Jesse and Kyle is interesting, as they come from opposite worlds. Cam's unease in Jesse's group of rich and well known people is well explored, and something I appreciated.

Their relationship is one of falling in love with someone who doesn't want to be monogamous. There's a wonderful discussion on monogamy, and what it really means. Moving forward takes them a while, as they face a lot of fear, confusion, decisions, and conversations. It explores whether it's enough to know someone's yours in the end. And, omg, this quote "He makes me want more. Someone who is mine. I don't even give a shit if I share him with someone else. I want to know at the end of the day he won't just fucking disappear." Swoon! I find this story to be unique and intriguing, as the couple explore options and ultimately show a lot of maturity.

I enjoy and appreciate Cam's discomfort with the Speakeasy crew. It's natural, normal, and appropriate. There's an age gap and a huge financial gap between Cam and Jesse, as well as Jesse's group.

I love the way the speakeasy crew is a large, hand picked family. This series is fantastic, with an extremely interwoven group of people. Everyone is related to each other, or have had relations with each other, making for a messy and fun family. They are definitely one large, complicated, and complex loving family.

Extra Dirty is a superb romance that explores the hesitation and fear involved when the intentions change and feelings develop. I loved it and think it's a fantastic take on polyamory.

K. Evan Coles and Brigham Vaughn hit a home run with this book. I loved every page.

Cameron is an elementary school music teacher by day and a DJ at a club by night. He's got his life where he wants it... no strings sex, a happy family life and rewarding work. He's never really wanted to settle down and he's never thought about wanting more.

Jesse seems to have it all. He's rich, powerful, has a self made family that respects and adores him, and he has slept with half of NYC. But when he crosses paths with Cam, things start to get tangled and he starts to get attached. But neither of them do strings...

Both MC's were so very different than the expectation of most 'romance' reads. The writers turned kitschy romance on it's head and forged a new, honest, raw relationship of trust, openness and mutual respect. It was an emotional experience for both Cam and Jesse to come to terms with what they wanted and to draw up the plans for their relationship, but it was so rewarding to see that with love, anything is possible.

The family that was formed around meeting at The Speakeasy was so crucial to the story and such a fun, exciting, loving space. It was here that most secrets came out, emotions ran high, and friendships were created and strengthened. It held such a homey vibe. I just really loved how supportive everyone there was of everyone else, and it was obvious that Jesse was the glue that held them all together. The Speakeasy acted almost like a character in itself, which made for a very interesting dynamic.

The writing was exceptional, the characters were flawlessly real and humble and the story just took me on an emotional trip to uncharted feelings. I loved the unique feel to this story and I'm so very excited to keep reading this series to see what these writers have up their sleeve.

I really enjoyed this one. This wasn't about your typical monogamous couple who decide to get married and have kids. Neither of those things work for either character and they know that from.the beginning which makes them perfect for each other. Jesse needed someone to accept him for he is and not try and change him from his ways and he didn't think such thing existed until he meets cam. cam is a music teacher who djs on the side and isn't the relationship type but he has never met anyone who made him interested in one, not until he meets a good looking, rich playboy named Jesse. Jesse doesn't expect to fall so hard for cam and he knows he's unable of doing the typical Monagamous relationship but wants to find a way where he can still give cam what he wants without losing who he is. This was a fun, sweet and steamy steamy read that I could not put down. I really enjoyed bother characters and following their unique relationship. what was meant to be a fun fling turned out to be so much more. Also there is a hott 3 way scene between them and their friend Kyle. I'm not usually a huge fan of these types of books that involve more than two people relationships but it seemed to really work with these two and the author did a pretty good with the story over all.

This is the second book in the speakeasy series and while it can be read as a stand-alone I highly recommend reading book one first just so you get to know the inner workings of this group.

Can is a music teacher and pet time dinner on the side. He is happy with life living it freely with bed parters when he chooses. That is until jesse walks into his life and turns it upside down.

Jesse is rich and I mean like Richard Branson rich but he doesn’t let that phase him. He works hard and plays hard he is the life and soul of the party. He never wants commitment and is happy playing the sexual field. But the heart wants what the heart wants and sometimes there is no stopping it .

With great side characters this was funny and charming with some ups and downs but really enjoyable can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Enter into the world of Jesse Murtagh who then enters the world of Cameron Lewis .

The duo of K. Evan Coles and Brigham Vaughn are like gold to me I have read their Tidal series and With a Twist the first book in this speakeasy series.

This book is exquisite absolutely exquisite much more than five stars .
Their attraction to each other is obvious no commitment they say! but feelings enter between them .

To see how they deal with that and how their lives are changing is written beautifully.
These men both have suburb qualities , they come from different worlds but they want the end result even when they think they don't !

Both their families are super cool and all have a story to tell.
Such a beautiful story with so much realness I couldn't stop reading ..
Congratulations for writing a suburb book 100% perfection.

I love the second book in The Speakeasy series as much as I did the first book. The name of the book speaks for it. Extra Dirty was so hot and intense and Cam and Jesse made it hotter.
Jesse is a playboy who doesn't believe in monogamy. Cam is a DJ and music teacher. They agreed to casual sex but they started developing feelings for each other.
The thing that makes this story is that both guys realize that they want to be together but they agree that they are comfortable with any limits that they have. The threesome that they had there was no jealousy and they made sure that they are understood how every felt. I love seeing the other MCS from the previous book and I'm looking forward to Kyle's book.

I absolutely loved this book. Jesse is rich, by way of family and his own hard work. He own a speakeasy, Under Lock and Key. He's a bisexual man very comfortable with his sexuality and enjoys many partners, never making anyone a permanent partner. He's been burned in the past. Cameron is a music teacher and DJ. He lives very modestly. They meet through students of Cameron's. There is an instant spark between them. Cameron has self-doubts and fears he'll never be good enough for Jesse. Through a series of misunderstandings and miscommunications, they distance themselves from each other. Ultimately, they have to decide for themselves and together just what a relationship between them constitutes, no matter how unconventional it may seem to others.

Scratch the surface

I would bet anything that Jesse does have an extremely hot voice in addition to everything else that’s smoking hot about him. Cam is the perfect partner for Jesse. He’s open-minded, honest and very low-key. I love their relationship and everything about them. “They’re nuts, but I like them...” That is how I feel about everyone in this series. I love them all but especially Cam and Jesse. They made me smile even when I wanted to smack them. But like I knew they would they made their own way and it’s beautiful. I can’t wait to see what’s next in store for this group as I know it will never be boring and will have me falling in love again.

The authors have written another fantastic, powerful, smoking hot, bittersweet, raw, gritty, gripping, and totally awesome tale. Even though Jesse and Cam are from totally different worlds, they become casual sex partners, neither one prepared for the hurricane of fear, inner demons, doubts, misunderstandings, powerful feelings, and disasters that loom in their future. I must admit that I thought there was no chance for Cam and Jesse to have any chance at a HEA ending, but miracles do happen.

Extra Dirty is the second book in The Speakeasy series by K. Evan Coles and Brigham Vaughn. It tells the tale of a music teacher/part-time DJ and a Rich playboy businessman. Cam and Jesse may be an unconventional romance but they make an interesting and wonderful lovestory. It's fun, full of fantastic characters, and tells an entertaining and satisfying story. Everything about this book had me loving it and needing to read till the end... I cant wait for next book in series.

Cam and Jesse are a couple of interesting characters that you might not expect to be the protagonists in a love story. And yet they are. Extra Dirty tells us the story of what happens when two different men who do not think they want to be in relationship, get into a relationship and have to stop dancing around what they ultimately find they want from one another and take the risk of getting there. It ain't pretty but it is a great read.

A great story. The story was well written, and the characters developed well. This is the second book in this series, I didn't read the first one if you want to know more of the background of the characters, maybe you should read the first one. It was a good read. Follow the story of Cam and Jessie and how they overcome things and try to get back something they once had.

This was a different turn from the first book in the series, definitely worth ready. I really liked Jesse and Cam. Jesse is a playboy while Cam is definitely not. Cam, I felt was a little insecure in himself. Both characters are fun. All the side characters are a great lot for the plot. It had a quick moving story line.

From fun to forever

I loved Jesse and Cam and I enjoyed seeing them finally get on the same page. Exta Dirty was a great follow up to With A Twist and a great second installment in the Speak Easy series. All in all a very enjoyable read with likable characters that I was rooting for.
