Mira
She raised her fists, her claws slid out. She couldn’t shift, but damn if she wasn’t going to use every little piece of armor at her disposal.
He grabbed her arms, yanked it up over her head and shackled her.
She snarled at him. A haze of red descended behind her eyes. She was so tired of fighting. So tired of constantly trying to justify to herself why she was still alive. After what Tibor had done to her, he’d trie dot break her. Just like he was. With a little scream, she rose up, smashed her chest against his. Her head came up, and she tried to butt him. With his free hand he grabbed her hair and yanked it back.
She cried out in frustration. Her legs scissored around his waist.
He leaned into her. He was much bigger than her. Yet at part of her noticed that he took care to not hurt her. He only applied enough pressure using his weight to hold her down.
"Let go damn it. Just once give into your instincts. Hurt me. Slap me. Anything but this polite distance you’ve maintained so far.
He froze, The black of his iris…no it wasn’t black at all. It was a dark gray really, Storm clouds gathered in them. It was quite beautiful, like the gray swirls in the skies just before the skies opened up.
"You have no idea what you are saying."
"Oh yeah?" She grinned. She knew it must look more like a grimace. Her lips twisted. Her shoulders straightened. "You scared to show me who you really are? Is that why you insist on hiding yourself behind the guise of that emotionless facade?"
"I’ve been trying to make excuses for you all along." HIs voice grated over her skin. "I told myself you were still reeling from when Tibor tired to break you. That you needed time to adjust. That’s why I took you on and agreed to train you in psychic warfare, so you’d always be able to protect yourself."
"And now?" Her chest heaved. Her breath came in pants. There was something in his eyes she hadn’t seen before An edge of desperation? A reckless light? She wasn’t sure. Either way she was past caring. Red sparks pounded against her brain. White noise filled her mind. Her vision focussed in on him. She bared her teeth, and raised her chin.
His gaze dropped to her lips. His jaw hardened. A nerve throbbed at his temple. "Now, I just think we should fight it out..."

I love tales involving shifters. I’ve had a weakness for dragons since I was a little girl (much more than for unicorns - no comparison), and have been fascinated by phoenixes ever since Harry Potter. So along comes Laxmi Hariharan’s Ascension (Dragon Protectors Book 6), a novel describes as a paranormal romance with “Dragon Shifters, Phoenix Shifters and Immortals” by an author I know is a truly skilled storyteller. I’m so there. Mira and Zach’s story is indeed as wonderful as I expected with a great plot and strong cast of characters. Totally satisfying. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.

This is the sixth book in the series, but you don't have to read them in order. I recommend it, though. Mira was held captive by Tibor, the leader of the Elysian Rebels.. Zach has been training her, so she can overcome her fears and defend herself. Both Mira and Zach are attracted to each other, but try to hide their feelings.Mira is a dragon shifter but has been having problems shifting. Serena, a lioness shifter is kidnapped by Igor, the Dark Fae Lord and is being tortured. Caleb, a wolf shifter and Zach sneak off to rescue Serena and leave Mira behind, which angers her. Does she follow them? Can they rescue Serena and return to their land? Read this awesome book and find out the answers to these questions and more.

We meet Zach and Mira when she escapes Tibor in Aaron and Hopes book. The connection to each other is instant but Zach doesn't know how to express his emotions until the Elysian web is changed. He is a dominant male and wants nothing more than to protect whats his, Mira. He takes her under his wing to help her overcome her fears, but it only deepens the feelings they have for each other. When they are sent to find Serena, things get heated but Zach holds back. He diesnt want to hurt her but Mira is determined to get what she craves, Zach. The chemistry sizzles on all the pages and I loved the way Zach finally learns what its like to share his emotions. Another Alpha tamed and mated.

This was a very interesting book. We get a very interesting look into Zach's past. We learn more about Mira as well.
Mira we learned of her in a previous book and some of her character development took place there, but here is where she really takes flight. Mira is one woman determined not to let her past interfere with her present or future. She thinks she knows where she wants to be and she is going to get there.
Zach we have become very familiar with Zach over the course of this series, but do we really know him? What or who molded him into who/what he is today? Why was he chosen over Tibor? What is his true role as leader of the Elysians?
To find out the answers to these questions and much more read Ascension, I know I will be recommending it..... on to the next book.

So cool
Was waiting for Zach story for so long! To finally see him ruffled and unbalanced. Was quite the picture. They balanced each other. And lifted the other up to née heights of power. Of course they did the song and dance of being attracted to one another but denying it to either preserve his control or protect her heart. Then it was the danger of mating. Loved the twists and turns. Poor Vance. And poor Serena. It’s like everything is against those two. Seriously Caleb and indira need their own book!! Or at least an epilogue and something where they are finally together. Zach and Mira are so hot together when they play, fight or get steamy. They know just what buttons to push.

Struggling with raw emotions Zach was on edge, reaching his limit and fighting for control. Mira had doubts about herself, her feelings and her dragon. The strong attraction between them was it only lust of there was more? Would they walk the path to healing together? Intense emotions, darkness, intriguing characters, suspense, secrets, violence and passion. Liked how the author crafted Mira’s and Zach characters with mystery and an interesting twist that kept me intrigued following the action. Good their insight and inner struggling narrations that felt real and with substance. Enjoyed the plot development of Mira and Zach’s story, strong, powerful and both holding secrets.

Read to feel all the emotional tension between Mira and Zach. Mira is so attracted to Zach that the tension is unbearable especially because he barely notices her. He is her protector was training her to regain her psychic power. Now they were on a mission together to find Serena. They find Serena only to also discover the evil Igor, The Dark Fae Lord. He has used his psychic powers to break Serena and is now trying to use his evil powers against Mira and Zach. Follow the adventure of Mira and Zach to find out if they can find Serena after Igor steals her away and to see if they can reconcile their true feelings for each other.

Love this Dragon Protectors series. This one focuses on Mira, a dragon shifter who’s past has harmed her and caused her to be unable to shift. And Zach, an Elysian, a race who don’t have feelings. But things are definitely changing for him and his race. He even cracks a few slight smiles one in awhile. The bad guy is a dark fae that they just can’t seem to stop. Zach and Mira will definitely start some fires. The energy between them is explosive. Some pretty cool fight scenes as both are fighters.

Mira and Zach are both damaged but are drawn to each other. They are really great characters and even though both have baggage from the past, together they’ll find a better way. Starts with a bang and doesn’t let up until the end. Dynamic characters and a well plotted and presented story line keep the book moving along at a great pace. There are some dark parts, tons of emotion and adventure. This is the 6th? Book in the series but it works fine as a stand-alone. Fun, fast read. Highly recommended. (You should also pick up the other books in the series).

This author always delivers gripping suspense, fantastic chemistry and well developed characters that are interesting and engaging. The characters are developed and easy to like. The plot was interesting and not one I have come across before. The book is really well written with great main and supporting characters. The book is packed with chemistry, suspense, hot-headed individuals and fantastic surprises! This Author did another fantastic job with this book and I would highly recommend this to all.

Mira and Zach were complete opposites yet there was a connection that drew them together like magnets. They had mission to accomplish: get Simone back from the dark gas lord, Igor. There was drawbacks to Mira and Zach's relationship, the mating bond could kill Zach as he wasn't a shifter. In addition, due to her experiences she endured from Tibor, an evil Elysian, her beast within had been changed. She knew she no longer had her dragon but was unclear as to what the beast was inside her. Good read

Well Zach and Mira certainly bring out the beast in one another. Zach knows he’s changing but how far will his change go? Mira knows her beast is just under the surface but what will it be when she finally gives in? Will they be able to save Serena? Will Igor get what he wants?
This read as the rest is full of suspense, angst, hurt but also love, fire and some serious sexy moments. Great characters, nice read, plot and writing. All the characters are coming together, assuming for a grand finale. We will see.

This story is about finding The part of you that needs to be pur in you to feel complete. Mira and Zach Both are scarred and they are looking for something that will heal it. Easy right? Especialy when being a paranormal... well nope... Nothing is easier.

In addition to off-the-charts sexual tension, this story is chock-full of heart-pounding, non-stop action and visceral, relatable characters. Some of the words that come to mind when I think of this story include emotional, gripping, intense, and evocative.
Ms. Hariharan has written one of her best books, I might even say her best overall. She employs a variety of descriptive phrases throughout, adding color and vividness to the story. I would definitely recommend this one.

Amazing Paranormal romance
I love these Dragon protector storie and this one is the six f the stories and doesn't disappoint me. Love💛 Mira and Zach they are both damaged in different ways but the attraction to one another is strong so strong a connection I would day they are made for each other 💛even though they are different. Can wait to read the next book I have downloaded it to my kindle fire and will be starting it tonight. Thanks again for these amazing stories Laxmi xx

Zach is the leader of the Elysian and Mira is a dragon shifter who was kidnapped by Tibor the leader of the resistance of the Elysian. Zach and Mira are off on a mission to free Serena from the clutches of Igor, a Dark Fae who wants to take over the world. Taking on Igor is a challenge, but that pales to the challenge the couple faces with each other as they come to grips with their attraction to one another. Lots of pull and some strange things going on. A pretty good read overall.

Another winner! Every book in this series catches you and won't let go. You have to finish reading immediently. You can't put it down. The characters are full of love, lust, understanding and everything else. You are right there, wanting to be a part of what they are feeling. A must read, you won't be disappointed.

This book by far was the most intense of the series so far.
Mira doesn’t know what her dragon is turning into since Tibor had experimented on her and Zach is afraid he is going to lose his mind with all the extra feelings in the Web.
Their journey is full of unfulfilled passion and doubts. I think I held my breath through most of the book.

He's close to losing it, the sian Web is so full of emotions. He's trying to keep it together so that maybe the doc can help him. She was almost broken by his half-brother and trying to come back to herself. He's been training her for physic defense and trying to block his emotions. She's drawn to him but not wanting to admit anything.

What a wonderful picture that Laxmi has painted in this paranormal love story between 2 different people falling in love, trying to fight it to protect each other and fighting the evilness wanting to take over. Looking forward to more.

this book is well written and offers well developed characters. The story of Zach and Mira is one of my favorites so far in this series. Their romance is not an easy one and each has to learn, Zach emotions, Mira letting her beast out. The mating bond. I enjoyed reading it.

I would have completed this book in one sitting as every time I turned the pages, the chemistry between Zach and Mira becomes quite irresistible. The feelings they had for each other are so intense. I am gonna reread it again for the Elysian

This is another of my favorite. Zach leader of the Elysians. Mira a dragon shifter. The attraction is felt by both. But both want yet are afraid of what will happen when the come together. Nothing beats a failure but a try.

These two have been fighting their love from the first time they met. The way they literally fight makes it even more steamy when they give in. The fact that her beast changed is simply amazing and I love what she becomes. I can’t wait to see what’s next!
