Aquamarine (Pretty Little Mermaids Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 148 ratings

To most mermaids, salt has a capital S, but Eadie is not your average siren.

"If being a siren means I’ll eventually have to leave everyone who ever meant anything to me, then I don’t want it."

I’m the youngest of a set of triplets, and I share little in common with my sisters. Larimar and Lazuli don’t seem bothered by the fact that they’re destined to live their semi-immortal lives controlled by their salt cycle. But after it took Mom, I flipped the ocean a set of double-birds. The salt can’t have me. My life is mine. My voice is mine. My fins and legs are both mine—and I prefer the latter.

I try to live as a normal high school senior (I'm even on the swim team) but I have my own personal bully who makes my life hell. I also have a serious crush on Seth Foster, who doesn't seem to know I exist, and a reputation as a socially awkward science whiz. So maybe this is normal?

When I find a mermaid in salt-flush trapped inside a wreck, she is proof that the salt is a hateful master, with no compassion for those whose lives it ruins, whose memories and identities it erases.

Can the weakest link in the Jackson chain figure out a way to free her when my hard-earned front as a normal teenager starts to unravel.

Or have I picked a fight I cannot win?

Return to the siren realm of A.L. Knorr with her forthcoming series
Pretty Little Mermaids, which expands the lore and worlds established in Born of Water, Mermaid’s Return and The Siren’s Curse, but is set before the events of the latter. Aquamarine takes place 2.5 years after the events of Cobalt, and is a true Young Adult contemporary fantasy novel, complete with high school angst, a prom, bullies, a sweet romance, team sports drama and family drama, all intertwined with the author's beloved mermaid mythology.

What a fun and energetic fast read. Triplets born from a mermaid and human. How are they alike yet so different? Eadie is the only one who wants and normal life. She wants her senior year to be normal. She joins the swim team. Eadie comes across a fairly new ship wreck, and uncovers a huge surprise.

This was entertaining and I would love to read the rest of the series. While this wasn’t my favorite of this authors books, I still think A L Knorr is amazing and writes the best descriptions and paints a picture that is incredibly to read. This was a shorter story about a mermaid and her triplet sisters. They have lost their mother to the call of the sea. They are teenagers and haven’t yet been drawn to the sea. They are dealing with teenager drama while dreading or hoping for their time in the sea. I know there is a bunch more to love coming in the rest of the series.

I really enjoyed this book. I am very fond of this author and her work. She makes the characters come to life so much you feel like you know them and are interested in what happens to them. The book is great to me because it comes down to love, family, friends and in the end doing the right thing in life and being accountable for yourself. I really loved meeting Gina and look forward to the next book. My recommendation, READ THE BOOK💞

OK, She did it again. That was a great story and now I need the next one. What an ending! Again A.L. Knorr has spun a tail that pulls you in and takes you for a great ride! I can't wait for the next one and want to re-read the prequel again. If you like mermaid stories, you will love her books. This is a great starting point if you have not read her stuff yet, but warning, you will be hooked!

I’m one of those 55-year-old YA genre junkies. Got hooked on A.L. Knorr’s books with her very first Elementals book, “Born of Water”, and in a sense this story is a continuation as we follow a different family of mermaids. This story also has a direct prequel in the short story “Cobalt”.

The book is a quick read, the author has a way of pulling the reader through the story and suddenly it’s over and the wait for another begins. The story follows the “youngest” of mermaid triplets as she navigates through her final year of high school. Family, after-school jobs, boys, the swim team, prom, and the discovery of a fellow mermaid trapped in a shipwreck all add to her story. Looking forward to more.

Here Knorr revisits her world of the Sirens. It takes place a few years before Salt & Sisters. Triplets that along with their father have already suffered from some of the effects of The Siren's Curse as their mother was called back to the sea, by the salt, to begin an other fertility cycle.

This is the story of one of the sisters who seems to be less mature than her siblings. She has an enemy who is jealous of her and makes her HS experience a bit if aa nightmare. She discovers another Siren trapped in a shipwreck (See the book Cobalt) that has gone salt flush making her little more than an animal.

Can the triplets free the trapped siren and will our heroine survive HS and learn to stick up for herself? Read Aquamarine and find out. You will be glad you did!

I couldn’t put this book down!! The story sucks you in and keeps you wanting more. The characters are quirky and fun. As the story unfolded it made me feel like I was right there in it. A.L. Knorr did it again. Every book she writes is a winner.

Once again A L Knorr takes us beneath the waves to the mysterious depths of the Mermaid realm.
We meet 3 teenage Mermaids trying to fit in to the human world and all the fun of high school. In a continuation of the events of Cobalt we also find out what happened to Gina. If you love high school drama and supernatural adventures this is a must read. I can’t wait for the next instalment!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mermaid Triplets rockin high school!
Reviewed in Australia on November 30, 2023
Nobody writes mermaids like AL Knorr! This book felt like a cross between the Little Mermaid and Twilight. Eadie, Larimar and Lazuli win you over in an instant. Seth is every high school girl's dream, and Gina is a mystery to be solved. I cannot wait for the rest of this series. 10 Stars!
