Honor's life took a traumatic turn, being kidnapped and held captive for 17 days. She was rescued, but her captor is in the wind. Since then, she's been terrified of leaving her house. Her Father has round the clock bodyguards and trying to figure a way to talk her into getting help. He asks Intrepid Security owner who in his employ was in a similar situation, who can help his daughter. Mack is asked to be her bodyguard and help nudge her in the right direction of healing. For the past couple weeks, things have been happening around the house that Honor is starting to believe she's doing and hearing things and perhaps going crazy. Honor's bodyguards only stay at the house while on shift and go to their homes, but Lizzie the maid, she lives in the house with Honor. Mack gets to the house and he immediately doesn't like Lizzie and she him. Mack helps Honor step foot out the house and then relapses when she thinks she's going crazy. Doing something she can't remember doing. Mack has his suspensions, but gets her out the house to a Intrepid Security safe house. Where Honor heals and grows stronger. Mack helped her face her fears and she in turn helps him face his. A beautifully written story. The ending surprised me, was not what I expected. Without giving too much away, I knew who was behind making Honor believe she was crazy, but to why? That was unexpected. It ended on a sort of cliffhanger, and I cannot wait to read the next book on Crew! His story going alongside Mack's. I highly recommend!

So little action in this story and the resolution happens with no big drama. A bit of a letdown. I did like Mack. And Lizzie went through a harrowing experience being kidnapped and held for ransom. Mack is the perfect man to help Lizzie heal and move forward with her life. Slow paced story.

Entertaining. Could have had more depth. Given the abduction, the plot could have been more involved. I kept wondering why no security cameras had been installed from day one given the traumatic events surrounding Honor. It took a seasoned experienced Brit from across the pond to install them after 3 months had passed guarding the heroine??? Gimme a break. Also, one could see the villain a mile away. Spoilers: The (non) reasons the father gave for his actions toward his second daughter were unsatisfactory. It was glossed over. The same with Lizzy. I couldn’t comprehend how the abduction could have been pulled off. So much was not explained. This is my first book by this author. Plan a reading the next one in the series to see if the author develops her potential.

He's chosen because he knows how to combat the PTSD she's suffering. She can't stand how gruff he is and that he's invading her territory. He pushes. She retreats. But eventually, she doesn't push as much and they find a balance. Then the sparks really start to fly.

Overcoming your past is never easy, but with the right support and the right nudges it just might be possible for Silver. The twists and turns Mack and Silver face kept me reading. I look forward to more in this series!

There are plenty of twists, turns and surprises in this book along with the romance of Honor and Mack.

I am looking forward to reading Guard o Silver the next book in the Intrepid Bodyguard Series.

Thrilled to have started Tracie’s new Intrepid series because I loved the Rogues series so much!!

Honor is a billionaire’s daughter who was kidnapped and held hostage for 17 days. She survives but a year later, she is suffering from agoraphobia & has round the clock security since her kidnapper was never found. She’s done therapy and nothing has worked. She’s still living like a hermit crab.

Mack is a royal marine veteran also suffered a traumatic experience when he was held hostage by ISIS while serving. Being that they have similar experiences in common, Mack is not only offered the job to be her bodyguard but to also try to “save” her. And he reluctantly accepts. I guess this can fall under the enemies to lovers trope.

Loved this 1st intrepid story. With Honor being so traumatized, I expected a slow burn but boy was I wrong! Loved Mack’s assertiveness and directness. Can’t wait for the next one, Guard of Silver.

Just like every other book Tracie has done a marvelous job with this book.
The whole read was a cocktail of emotions which had me on the edge of the seat till the end.
Honor and Mack are two broken people who have faced similar experience.
Even after an year of the incident Honor is unable to move forward and made her home her prison. While Mack has gone through a gruesome experience he has come to help her thanks to Loris.
While lot of weird things are happening around they bond over their pain which no one else can understand.
Tracie has a way to capture the essence of emotions and display through her writing you are teleported to a different world. Her writing has always captivated me and this book was no exception.
It was a fun read filled with angst. And the bonus epilogue made me giddy with excitement.
Can't wait for other books in the series 😁.

Following a harrowing kidnap a year ago, Honor Reid is traumatised, trapped in her house, full of fear that the kidnapper will come back for her. Surrounded by bodyguards, her father fears for her sanity and Royal Marine veteran "Mack" Mackenzie is sent to help her. She resents the disruption he brings, but when strange things start happening, he may be the one person who understands exactly what she's been through.

Wow these two damaged souls had sparks together, both had trust issues but i loved how slowly it became obvious how right they were for each other as each gave the other just what they needed to heal. A heartfelt, suspenseful journey with hot sexual tension, real, raw emotion and a scared young woman in Honor who grew in confidence and stature as the book progressed. I loved her fire despite all she'd been through and I loved how Mack was a big, strong, dominant, resourceful, determined, brooding, occasional a-hole but with a heart of gold and a vulnerability he bravely faced head on just like Honor.

Fantastic start to a series with characters I'd love to have as friends (and if Honor gets bored, you know I'm all in to keep Mack company 😉) Excited for what comes next!

When I spotted an ad for Guard of Honor on Facebook it prompted me to give it a go. Reading romance isn’t my usual genre, but I’m trying to push myself out of the norm and embrace alternative ideas. Tracie’s writing style made it easy to fall into step with the characters and engage with the story.

I enjoyed finding out more about Honor’s demons. Despite the horror she faced I loved her spirit and desire to become whole again. Mack was the perfect accompaniment for this story with his own torments.

The characters were easy to connect with and the chemistry between them was well played out. There was scope for more depth in the storyline and a few more twists, turns, and surprises, but it didn’t detract at all from my enjoyment.

Although romance isn’t my usual genre, I wouldn’t hesitate to read the rest of this series. I read this book in one day as it captivated me and the easy writing style made it a pleasure to lose myself in the story.

A mind boggling book of exactly what mental pressures can do when the body is pushed far beyond its comfort zone.

Tracie Delaney's books are a must-buy for me. I love her different series, tempting readers with an array of delights. And what a delight this series is going to be, if this first book is anything to go by.

Honor and Mack both have traumatic pasts and demons to confront. They're thrown together, unwillingly of course, but from the second they meet the sparks are flying off the page. My heart wasn't the only bit of me on fire! Their stories and their bodies intertwine perfectly.

The story gets up to speed very quickly and the pace remains high throughout the whole book, making it a real page turner.

I couldn't put this book down. I'm ready to grab the next book...it's already too long to wait.
