Disaster #1: Fun With Family

Nolan is the hot but grumpy goth boy who lives across the street from perpetually sunny necromancer Sky.

Nolan wants nothing to do with Sky.

That is until his older brother is on the run from a local vampire clan after he failed to deliver on a promise.

Nolan is about to learn that vampires, shifters, witches, and magic are very real. He needs an expert to guide him through this dangerous world.

It's Sky's time to shine!

And just maybe he can win the heart of a grumpy introvert. (Assuming he doesn't scare the man to death first.)

How the Necromancer in the Gold Vest Saved My Life is a serial comprising four novellas that follow the insane adventures of necromancer Skylar Wallace and his next-door neighbor Nolan Banks. This book contains vampires, werewolves, witches, underworld minions, danger, surprises, sassy corpses, and some pretty amazing sandwiches.

Forget what you know about necromancers. Dark, gloomy, forlorn creatures doomed to spend their days in ghastly pursuits. Instead, come meet Sky.The brightest, the cheeriest, the "most fun at every party he's ever gone to" kind of death witch you will ever encounter! Sequins, sparkles, and shimmering fabrics define his look. A button nose and big smile are his trademarks. The aroma of tea and fresh baked treats surround him like a halo. Oh, I want to be his neighbor, too! Lucky Nolan...Beyond adorable, this novella sets up a new pair of MC'S in her magical world set in Hartford, CT. It was a charming lark including a car chase, cuddles, fresh muffins, hellish minions, sexy vampires, and more cuddles. Not necessarily in that order. The only character that rang hollow was Owen. Disposable plot driver, I guess. But everyone else, villains and heroes alike, were well rounded, interesting "people" (yes, I mean Frank, Bob, and Kevin).I devoured this book and immediately grabbed the next within minutes. That cliffhanger was a good incentive! I recommend this tale but be warned: It will encourage you to break your diet. 😉

Maybe a perky, selfless necromancer is a little too much overcompensation, but it works.

Could do without the cliffhanger, but it is a serial.

"Sky didn’t know whether to feel annoyed or afraid or relieved that he’d gotten out of there. Phoenix was a safe place, but there was a hidden edge to it that was a siren song. Who didn’t want to have a tiny taste of danger with their wild night out?

The problem was when danger caught you looking and smiled." - Sky

Holy Moly! I was immediately captivated! Original and haunting, an I-can't-put-it-down book! An MM slow burn romance that's also an urban fantasy that really entertains!

Really, you decided to set this novel in Hartford Connecticut and yet all of the places mentioned other than Hartford don't exist. Kind of disappointing. Wondering if you just decided on Hartford without having any inkling of the area itself. I guess that's okay but being from the Hartford area very disappointing. Otherwise, the story was quite good although very short and I guess that's because the next one is but an extension

This fun little story is the start of a spin-off from Drake’s Lords of Discords vampire series. Luckily, since I’m unfamiliar with that series, Drake has made this , Princes of Mayhem, filled in with all the necessary details that’s it’s basically standalone .

Serialized at four books, you quickly fall into the universe of necromancer Skylar Wallace and his goth next-door neighbor Nolan Banks. It’s Nolan who’s in trouble and Sky, the Necromancer with the positive attitude and yellow sunshine house, who’s happy to step in to save the day.

Drake adds in just the rights amount of humor, horror, quirkiness, and terrific characters that carry the reader right through a plot that’s sort of murky.

What I was surprised at was the twist at the end which came with a cliffhanger. It took the story and this element in an unexpected direction. Really enjoyed this.

A cliffhanger isn’t uncommon in a serialized story. Instead, it’s almost a given.

I’ve listed the four books below. They will be released fairly quickly. I’m absolutely recommending this story! Highly entertaining! Can’t wait for the rest to roll out.

Great cover.

This was a light, fun, silly, entertaining read. It was quick and perfect for an afternoon distraction. It ends in a cliffhanger, so reader beware. However, all the books are out now, so there is that. The writing is good, the characters fun, the world interesting, and the plot intriguing. Recommend if you're looking for a low romance, silly vampire story with potential for something deeper and darker.

I loved this! I haven’t read all of the Varik books but that doesn’t matter. Sky was a side character but know this sweet little necromancer is getting his own books! This was so good! I really enjoyed the characters. Sky is wearing down Nolan one flirtation at a time. This world is fascinating and I can’t wait to read part 2.

I love how the dark sullen neighbour is mistaken for a witch when his sunny twink of a neighbour is actually the witch. A great start to the series, Nolan is looking for his brother Owen and ends up in a supernatural bar threatening vampires, Sky seeing this uses this as an excuse to get to know his snarky and hot neighbour by saving him from more trouble and taking him home. A great book ate it up

Great story. Sky is adorable & Nolan is sweet, but after all Sky has done, he doesn't tell him everything. Also, I hate not knowing the ending is a cliffhanger. I like to wait till the complete series is available.
