Have You Been Chosen?

Sawyer Smith is preparing to take on the world, and with his graduate degree only days away, he’s hoping to convince his gorgeous best friend and neighbor to come along for the ride. There’s only one problem; Draco has a secret, a big scaly secret, and it’s about to change Sawyer’s life forever.

When three mysterious men move into the new mansion across the street, Sawyer is plunged into a fantastical world he never knew existed. Discovering that Draco is a dragon shifter and a guardian of The Chosen One--a creature sent by the Goddess to restore the realm’s broken magic--is only the tip of the paranormal iceberg.

Being drawn into this strange new world is challenging enough, but then Sawyer finds himself attracted to all The Chosen One’s guardians: not only Draco, but also quiet and fierce vampire Andvari, sweet mage Henry, and ruthlessly smart griffin Eduard.

And, oh yeah, it turns out not all magical creatures are friendly. Forces aligned against The Chosen One are out to destroy the guardians so the prophecy can never be fulfilled.

The biggest problem of all, though, is that once The Chosen One is found, Sawyer will have to return to his boring human life... alone.

But in the paranormal world, there are no half measures. As danger mounts, Sawyer must choose between walking away from the men he’s grown to care for or risking it all for a chance at a future together.

All or Nothing
The Chosen One Book One: An MM Paranormal Fantasy Series
By: Macy Blake
Narrated by: Michael Dean
Series: The Chosen One, Book 1

Macy Blake continues to wow me with another amazing novel set in her “Chosen One” series, I fell in love with this fascinating world she created in “Sweet Nothings”, the prequel to the series, if you haven’t read or listened to it yet I highly recommend you do, it is a brilliant story and it gives you the back story to one of the lead characters of this book. That said, if you have not gotten to it yet, no worries, everything you need to know is in the descriptive details and it will not feel like anything is missing. This book starts with meeting Sawyer Smith and his best friend Draco, Sawyer is just about finished with graduate school and getting ready for the next phase of his life and he could never imagine the direction his life turns after his new neighbors, the ones who built a huge house he and Draco dubbed a McMansion, came in to their life. Draco has been hiding something from Sawyer, a big something that he is a dragon shifter and part of a world Sawyer knows nothing about. When they go to meet the new neighbors, Draco knew they were members of his world, a supernatural and paranormal world and so did they. Happy go lucky Henry welcomes them with open arms, but his two guardians are not as welcoming though. Henry is a magical being and a seer, which is rare in their world and makes him target to those of his world, so he has two guardians looking out for him, Eduard and Andvari, each from another part of the paranormal world and each having their own unique supernatural power. This book lays the foundation for the rest of the series and what is to come, the world building and character development is absolutely phenomenal and will continue throughout the series. We learn more about the guardians and the chosen one, whose identity is revealed. Macy Blake created something very special here, and I enjoyed every minute and every word of this book, it is a brilliantly plotted story that has a perfect balance of drama, humorous and witty dialogue to lighten up the heavier moments, some mystery, action, thrilling and suspenseful moments, some heartfelt emotions and a smoking hot romance, harem style. Macy Blake, thank you for another wonderfully entertaining story.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Michael Dean continues to deliver an outstanding performance, bringing these characters and their story to life. He has a complete understanding of the characters he portrays, giving each a voice that suits that character’s persona and is believable in every role he played. He set the perfect tone for the story, captures all the characters’ emotions and projects them into his performance and had you feeling every single one. Dean is an entertaining storyteller and a versatile voice artist, his narration enhances an already brilliant story to another level. Thank you for another amazing listen, it is always a pleasure to listen to your work.

I can tell right now, with only a few books in, that I’m going to absolutely love the Chosen One Universe!

For me, when the plot was focused on Sawyer, Henry, Andvari, Eduard, and Draco, the story is great. I’d totally give the Chosen One plot itself a review of 5. However, in my opinion, there is just too much sex, and I found it distracted from the storyline. I’ve never been a fan of MMMMM books, so that’s probably a big part of it, but too much is too much. I found myself skimming through those sections to get on to the real story. Just my opinion. In that aspect, I’d give a review of 3. Hence the 4 I did I give.

I’m definitely starting the next book in about 5 minutes, and secretly hoping there is a lot more Chosen One plot than the sex scenes.

All or Nothing is the first book in the Chosen zone series. There is a prequel novel, Sweet Nothings, and two short stories (which can be found in the ebook series bundle) but you don’t need to read those first to enjoy and understand All or Nothing.

Sweet, intense, and incredibly sexy, All for Nothing was a great start to an addicting series. The book starts off with a humorous scene before immediately jumping into some serious world building and plot. Plus lots of sexy men. I love how fluid and natural the poly relationship begins and develops. This also leads to some hot and sizzling scenes. The book doesn’t end on a cliffhanger but the overall series plot has only just started, and I’m so here for it. I thought the ending was nicely done. It was a good stopping point but it left me ready to jump into book 2 immediately.

The audiobook is narrated by Michael Dean who does a fabulous job. Michael voices a lot of different main characters and manages to make them all distinct. I loved his performance. The audiobook production was also well done and made for a great listen.

This was a great first book—both of a series and by the author. Based on some of Henry’s backstory, it felt so much like a spin-off that I went searching mid-read for earlier books so I could learn about Henry’s pack first. I was surprised to discover that there weren’t any (but if there were, I’d read them!), and that this was a debut novel. There are a lot of seasoned authors whose books are not written as well as this was, with relatively few typos or grammatical errors. So refreshing!

But based on the cover and blurb, I was concerned that this would be a harem-type book (not my favorite kind, since there usually aren’t overlapping relationships between “suitor” character, which doesn’t seem natural to me), but this was thankfully a ménage situation, so we’re treated to different (and always hot) combinations. And while there’s a lot of sex, there’s enough story to support it. I’m looking forward to the next installment—and to meeting more guardians!

So, this was definitely smut with plot, which I love that kind of book as much as any genre. The problem for me, which is why this book gets 3 stars instead of 4, is that I had such a hard time suspending disbelief with the plot part of this book. I’m not an expert, but I do have experience with languages, especially Greek, and I just could not with the mentions of Ancient Greek in this book. I couldn’t. The writing at the beginning of the book was hard to get into because I don’t often read amateur writing, but once I convinced my brain to turn the critic off, it was fine. Except for the plot, obvs. Suspension of disbelief was too hard for me. I’m hoping the series improves because I quite enjoy the idea of a 9M menage.
Lots of points awarded for easy poly love. I do so enjoy the kind of love that doesn’t get hung up on itself.

I came into this series blind – knowing nothing. The prequel took me through quite a ride, but I thought I knew who the main characters were going to be. I was wrong. This book begins with Sawyer. He hangs out with his best friend Draco as they’ve watched a mansion being built across the street. They’re curious enough to take over a housewarming present.

Sawyer’s world tilts. He meets Andvari, Eduard, and Henry. Oh yeah, THAT Henry. I was thrilled to see him back.

Soon Sawyer discovers the men’s secrets. Henry is a mage, Andvari is a vampire, Eduard is a griffin and, oh, yeah, his best friend is a dragon shifter. Sawyer eventually learns to deal with this, even as his attraction towards each man grows. To be clear, this is a menage/harem book. And I loved it.

But The Chosen One has eight guardians and we’ve only met four. Guess I’ll have to keep going in the series to find out what happens next.

Michael Dean narrates the series and I adore him, so I think he’s a great choice. Off to Book 2.

Look...I-I really liked this book. It was enlightning in a way because I never read something with so many people in a relationship. It was refreshing seeing all the five characters loving each other so deeply, not being only sexual but also with lots of intense feelings between them. They all balance each other and have a bond that made sense in the book.

The plot is thickening, and things are not looking good for our chosen one because well, how he is supposed to save everyone while being powerless. (view spoiler) is very frustrated about this but there is a reason he is the chosen one and he will prove himself.

Can't wait to read the next one because I want to see more of this incredible world!

PS: there's a lot , like A LOT, of spicy scenes so just know that this book is 50% RAWR and 50% plot.

SERIES REVIEW (Chosen One, Book 1-5)

I'm in Love & Awe with this series❤. With the Romance, hot Gay Sex & Adventures, it kept me on my toes! I popped two of my cherries with this series: This was my 1st by Macy Blake; My 1st Gay Harem, Fantasy & PNR made it all the more perfect; & the largest harem I've read till date, omg 9 guys?! I binge read this entire series😘.

The Individuality of each guy was Awesome & how we gradually meet'em. I loved the Multiple POVs!
We have our main guy: Sawyer; Smart, Complex, Creative, Delightful; The Chosen One, Human/Magical Null/God (?!?!).
Then we have the 8 Guardians...Who's attraction to eachother & Sawyer maybe unconventional but with Good reason! *Ahem, Mates*
Draco; Growly & Protective; The Dragon, Sawyer's Friend.
Henry; Smart & Guy Next door Vibes; The Mage/Seer.
Eduard; Elegant & Charming; The Griffin, Billionaire.
Andvari; Quiet & Observant; The Vampire Warrior.
Saeward; Sweet & Gentle Giant; The Hippocamp.
Loch; Funny & Sleek; The Fae Warrior.
Dakota; Dark & Deep, the one who took the most time to warm up to Sawyer (Reasons..!); The Lynx.
Pip; Cute & Hilarious; The Kushtaka. I'd have liked to have more time with him, as we get him in last book.

I love all of them so much! I adored all the Various side Characters here & how everyone talked most things out. The World-Building Is good (Enough to sustain The story), Macy made her whole Myth world, it's fun!
As the threat gets Revealed, Dangers increases. Secrets Found, Pieces of the Puzzle Stringed. The Finale was great! I hope, if I have time, I'll read the other books in the Chosen One Universe Soon! #MustRead
