Conall grew up as one of the few humans in the circus. He loves his magical family but can't help feeling like the odd one out. He's too romantic, too naive, and too ordinary.

Tidun has it all. The looks, the fame, the family lineage, but he feels like something is missing. Sperm whale shifters are tight-knit, and as the only prince of the royal family, he's beloved by his people. Still, he yearns for something more.

A runaway briefcase full of questionable content, and Conall gallantly stepping in to save the day, has both of them lingering in each other's thoughts. Conall wants to find the person he's meant to be with. Tidun fears being tied-down, but he can't see being with Conall as anything else but true freedom.

It's unheard of for a sperm whale shifter to have a human for a mate, but they have to make it work or risk drowning in the noise of everything else.

Conall is an opposites attract, slow burn, and fated mates paranormal MM romance between a sperm whale shifter prince and a human. The Black Cat Circus: Pearl of Fate is a multi-author series and season two of the Black Cat Circus World that features found family and a magical cast of characters. Each book can be read as a standalone but is better enjoyed as a series.

A MM paranormal romance b/w Sperm-Whale shifter & Human in the beloved Black Cat Circus world! It's a virgin x playboy story with sweet feels, bit of a size difference, woo-ing 😉, first times & fun families!
I loved Conall & Tidun, everyone's such a darling here 😁. Devoured my #ARC in around 4hrs.

Conall (19) is joyful, talkative, & a romantic. He's a human in a PNR world, adopted by them as his own. He works in BCC circus & an awesome artist!
Tidun (29) is charming, protective, & a playboy (not for long). He's a sperm whale shifter PRINCE. He's also sorta a shit delivery man IYKYK.

Their story's a slowburn as Tid takes C on many dates, I loved that. It's sweet how C helps T find his passion. Their moments of fears & insecurities are #relatable. They're cute & when finally give in - HOT. The sperm shower =omg 🤭. Being fated mates =🥰. RTC.

As a series, I'm curious about that shell 👀. It was my 1st time reading about whale shifters!
My only qualm is I got teased with a vers scene but didn't get it 🥺. Bonus?!?!

It's time our favorite ferris wheel attendants time to be in the spotlight! Conall has always loved being a part of Black Cat Circus, yet I can't help but feel alone being one of the few humans. Tidun has always had the world at his fingertips, yet he doesn't feel like he is enough. When fate has these two path crosses, neither can block out the other.
Appreciate that Tidun takes his time making sure Conall is comfortable with the pace of the relationship. These two share a beautiful trust for each other that develops beautifully throughout the story. I am so happy to see the authors have kept true to the feel of season one.

I was in a good mood reading this cute paranormal romance and it just made me smile. This is the second book in this season of Black Cat Circus and the circus family is expanding, with royalty to boot.

Conall is the sweetest little 19-year-old virgin ever and he was wise beyond his years, so he never felt like a child even when people tried to treat him like one. He also has no filter and just says what's on his mind whether it's appropriate or not. Love it! He always believed in that fairytale love and enjoyed watching the happy couples riding the ferris wheel he helped run during the day. At night, Conall would do live charcoal drawings of the people attending the circus. He was so talented but only recently became more confident in his art and that people really did mean the compliments they gave him. Tidun was a lost soul just aimlessly wandering through life because nothing was ever expected of him being the youngest, male, and a prince. His sisters had the authority and responsibility and he felt like a failure. Always searching for something he couldn't find and didn't know what to look for, except that it was away from the underwater kingdom. A chance encounter in the city where a theft tried to steal the whale 💩, yes actual 💩, that Tidun was carrying to a meeting, collided with Conall on the sidewalk. They instantly felt a connection but Tidun was running late and left Conall his card to call him later. Well, sweet baby Conall accidently gave the card to the police without writing down the number on the card. Now fate has to find a way to throw these two into each other’s path again.

The couple sickly sweet but it was cute to see Conall get his fairytale love story, with a Prince no less. Go him! Every time they would see each other after being apart for hours or days, Conall would run to Tidun and jump him knowing he would be caught. It was funny and adorable that Conall basically did a spider monkey cling onto his boyfriend each time. Conall helps Tidun find his passion in life and show him that he was never a failure, he just didn't realize how to use his gifts for his kingdom in a meaningful way. They had so much fun together exploring the city to help Tidun, and they spent time getting to know each other. The dates, the playfulness of their relationship, and the underwater adventure to the market and palace were a nice touch. Having Conall's best friend, Aisha "Ai", be a huge part of his story was a welcome addition to have that support system. She's a grumpy lynx but her finding her fated mate too, so they could go through this milestone together, was *chef's kiss*.

There were a few things that were repetitive but easily ignored, in comparison to trying to ignore them saying "🍑 virgin" or similar phrasing. Also, heads up that there is a scene of Tidun with another man early on in the book but after meeting Conall there were no others. The little sea shell is also back, and played a part throughout this story in Conall's possession. I'm curious to see where it turns up next and what that will be about.

Conall is part of the multi author Black Cat Circus: Pearl of Fate series. Each book is a standalone story but why not enjoy the whole series. This book is about Conall a human who works in the circus and Tidun a sperm whale shifter. These two are just so perfect for each other. Conall is just the sweetest guy who wants to be loved by a partner. This is a sweet low angst story with great characters and world building. This season of Black Cat Circus is starting continuing to be just as good as the first season. I can't wait to read the other books in the series. I would definitely recommend this book and both seasons of the series.

A very lovely romance. Fate definitely played a part in bringing Conall and Tidun together. In reading their romance, I felt that Conall's innocence along with Tidun's worldliness is what made their connection special and unique to them. Hardly no angst...just love and sweet heat between the two. From start to end you will have the feels. Their HEA is what keep me reading romances...NICE!

Even though Conall is young, he’s got confidence which I loved about him, and compassion, too. Even though Tidun is 29, he’s still trying to figure out his life and what he’s good at, which is also accurate and relatable. They were so sweet and perfect for each other.

I loved getting to see Tidun’s family’s kingdom underwater, and that some of his family members found love, too!!

Conall by Rye Cox is the second book in A Black Cat Circus: Pearl of Fate series by various authors. You might want to read the others first to get a sense of the paranormal circus and how it affects the lives and loves of its members. Conall has lived at the circus most of his life after his wolf shifter parents adopted him as a young boy. Even though he is a human and most of the other members are paranormals, he loves the circus and everything about it. He is now 19 and works the Ferris wheel as well as uses his talent as a charcoal artist to draw people who come to the circus. He is also inexperienced with men and in love and desperately wants to find what his friends and others have found with a partner. His best friend, Aisha, is a panther shifter and somewhat grumpy but he is very glad to have her in his life. Tidun is a whale shifter, the youngest and only boy in his family and his mother just happens to be the queen of their pod. He hasn’t found where he fits in and has made some unfortunate blunders in his life and now finds himself as a delivery boy for items others want from the whales. During one of his deliveries his briefcase is stolen and the thief runs into Conall and Aisha who stop him. Both of them feel an immediate attraction but go their own ways, and even though Tidun gave Conall his business card, he left it with the police and has no way to contact him. When he returns to his RV he is obsessed with drawing him and spends the night doing just that. Tidun got in trouble from his sisters for almost losing the briefcase and is sent away to get his act together. He waits for Conall to call him, but when he doesn’t he tracks him down at the circus. The rest of the story is about them learning about each other, having some dates, and then slowly moving towards having hot love scenes as they begin to realize they are meant to be together as fated mates. I really enjoyed this story. Conall is such a sweet man who wants to please and is also very talented. Tidum is somewhat lost with what to do with his life but he knows Conall is special and that he wants to do all that he can to make him happy. There is some angst as Conall worries that he may not be enough for Tidun, but he puts him at ease as they explore their worlds together. The circus is a great place with all its different acts and the paranormals who perform them. Tidum taking Conall and Aisha to the underwater market and then to his parents’ castle was fun, even though it was somewhat nerve wracking. I also liked how Conall had Tidum try all kinds of different activities to find his passion and what to do with his life, even though they didn’t work out quite the way they expected. And it was wonderful when Tidum did find his passion which not only helped his pod but kept Conall in his life. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like shifter/human fated mates stories where love is found in unexpected places. This is turning out to be a very unique series.

Rye Cox pulls you immediately into Conall's artistic mind. He sees his surroundings as something beautiful to capture.
Conall is a complete sweetheart and seems far more mature than the decade older Tidun.
Love the honesty between Conall and Tidun. Gives them a purer starting point.
Imagining the BCC through Conall's admiring eyes while Tidun is watching him makes me truly wish we had something like the BCC available to us in the real world.
I'm going to go full Chandler here and say, "Could Conall BE any sweeter?" This applies to both the man and his story.

I had guessed about the rough connection of the found shell for this season's BCC, and it seems accurate. Not too surprising, but it's gratifying to have that guess manifest, although not verified in the story. It was surprising not to have Seven mention its humming power this time around as it was mentioned in August.

Conall was really low angst with a super sweet virgin MC and his older, but seemingly less mature LI. Tidun's loyalty to his family is admirable, and hopefully he and Conall can enjoy ongoing memories in the underwater kingdom as well as on land. I was slightly disappointed with the reveal of Conall's art on his paranormal online social media. It felt a bit rushed and like it was just fit into the finale to tie up loose ends.

As with any Black Cat Circus story, I would have loved more of it, especially with one as sweet as this one. I don't think any other character that has been -- or will be -- introduced will compare with the sweet and romantic heart of this book's hero, Conall.

I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

We're back at the circus!! I am so happy to continue to read these incredible stories by these really talented authors. We get introduced to Conall during the first run of this series. He's the lovable, eager, and happy go lucky guy who was raised at the circus. He also runs the Ferris wheel, along with creating sketches of the people that visits the circus. I was really hoping Conall would get his own partner after reading about him in Rhett's story, and guess what? He didn't only find a partner, but his fated mate!!

I think I've only ever read one other shifter book about a whale, and this one was quite different from that story, in a good way! The concept of Tidun having a storage ring was really unique, and I really enjoyed the scene where Conall and Aisha went to the underwater market with him! That was such an awesome scene and was really creative! I personally love the water, so for this book to have a main character whose life essentially revolves around the water was really amazing.

I think what I love the most about this series is how caring, supportive, and loving everyone apart of the circus is of one another. It's truly beautiful, and I love the found family trope, and this series has that in spades. I enjoyed the details that went into depicting what Conall was drawing, I found that to be really intricately done. The way both of these men were so open, supportive and encouraging of one another was so beautiful to read about. They truly are such an incredible couple, and really fit well together.

If you read August's book, then you got introduced to this mysterious seashell there first, it made a second appearance in this story. I'm not sure what's going on with this seashell but I definitely think it's what's helping these incredible characters find their mates. I can't wait to see these other characters get their happy ever afters, and I'm looking forward to learning more about this seashell!

This is the second in the Black Cat Circus: Pearl of Fate series, following Conall who does appear in the first season of the Black Cat Circus books, and Tidun, a new character.

I'm glad Conall finally got his own story, he's been a recurring character in the background up till now and I was happy to see him in the spotlight and learn more about him. Tidun is a new character, a sperm whale shifter and also prince of his sperm whale kingdom who's trying to find his place, and struggling with that.

There's an instant connection between the two, a spark when they meet, and neither can stop thinking about the other until Tidun tracks down Conall at the circus. It's a fast development of their relationship, after a day they're already boyfriends and talking about forever and it just felt a little rushed, but that's often the way with what turns out to be fated mates. The pearl of fate makes another appearance and still we know very little about it, and what it is and does. While the relationship moved ultra fast, I still liked how Tidun took things relatively slowly with the inexperienced Conall, and they did fit together well, complementing each other and supporting each other.

I really enjoyed this, I do like the cast of the BCC and look forward to more.

Yet another wonderful romance in the Black Cat Circus series. Rye Cox brings a HEA to human, Conall, who has been with BCC his whole life after being found and adopted by his parents. Tidun is a most unexpected surprise that was almost lost but Tidun's determination to find the man who is so attractive and smells so good has him tracking the younger man down.
Their attraction is immediate but I enjoyed the slower pace that they both set, Conall with it being his first in all things and Tidun wanting to show how much Conall means to him and is different from his vast amount of hookups. There is also a lightness to their relationship that makes it a fun read, both men having quite sunshine personalities unless they dwell on certain things. As they move forward with their relationship, it's very hot and heavy and their size difference often works to their advantage.
One of my favourite things about this series is the found family amongst the whole BCC crew. They're all there and looking out for each other. The only tension comes from Tidun's family, with him being prince of his sperm whale kingdom. He's a little different to the rest of his family, happy to be on land but look how well it turns out for him!
Another recommended read in this brilliant series. I am so looking forward to the next book.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Conall by Rye Cox is the second in the Black Cat Circus: Pearl of Fate series, which is itself the second Black Cat Circus series. After reading this, I now understand why there is a subtitle to the series. I should have realized after the first book that nothing is coincidental in the series. It definitely added to the fun of a magical circus full of paranormal people. The second series seems to be focusing on more unusual creatures, a centaur in Book One and now a whale shifter in Book Two. Although the whale shifter, Tidun, is quite the peripatetic wanderer, he’s never encountered the Black Cat Circus before and he only connects with it when he literally runs Conall down. I enjoyed knowing these two were fated mates and liked how that knowledge was discovered by Conall and Tidun (and several of their paranormal friends). It felt realistic (if one can use that word for a fantasy world) that Tidun had outside commitments to his family and the small number of whales in their kingdom. It was nice to have two sets of functional families, Conall’s and Tidun’s parents and siblings for Tidun. Too often in mm fiction there are dysfunctional and unsympathetic families behind the main characters. I love reading low-angst stories and this is one series that delivers that consistently. I received a free copy of this book from the author and am leaving this review voluntarily.

I am so glad that Conall is part of the Black Cat Circus, Pearl of Fate Series. Conall is a human raised by wolf shifters in the BCC. He is sweet and sensitive and loved by his circus family. He loves romance and art and watching couples fall in love on the ferris wheel. Tidun is a sperm whale shifter come to shore on an important mission. Only that mission doesn't go as well as planned and Tidun returns home only to be sent away to get his act together.

I feel like this story spoke to me in so many ways. Both Conall and Tidun had insecurities that affected them both individually and together. As they came together as mates and partners, they were able to build a connection that helped the other to see themselves as worthy and whole. That kind of romance, of partnership, is so beautiful to read about. I had so many moments in their story where I just felt like this is the perfect moment only there were so many. Conall's story is beautiful, Rye Cox writes romance that warms my heart. Conall is a story that I want to read again and again just to feel the happiness that comes with watching others fall in love.

Conell and Tidun are complete opposites. Conell is one of few humans in the BCC. When he was an infant, he left by his biological parents and then adopted his shifter parents and the cast of characters in the BCC. He works as the ferris wheel operator and an artist for the BCC circuit. He does feel a bit alone and unwanted. However, he knows he is so wanted but doesn't feel it.

Tidun, a prince and whale shifter who had everything. He has the looks, confidence, and all the men he wanted. However, there was something missing.

Under water kingdoms, cell phones, and fires in a fireplace that work under water. Oh, and let's not forget the storage ring. I so want to visit in this world.

This is the 3rd book I have read in this paranormal series. I love each book so far. What a beautiful series. Each book is written by different authors. However, they are all in the same BCC world.

They can be read as standalones, with each book following a different couple. However, characters are in each story. Even though I was not starting from the beginning, I was not lost. I can't wait to read more of this wonderful series.

Trust your gut! Conall, is a human raised in a family of supernatural beings. The Black Cat Circus contains diverse species that form a found family. They take care of each other and woe to anyone who tries to mess with them. Conall, at 19 was aware of all his friends pairing up and finding their ‘one’. He runs the Ferris Wheel and sketches what he observes. I like that his sketching is getting more attention and appreciation. Tidun, was the youngest and only son/Prince in the family of sperm whales. He was a bit free spirited and challenged his family’s authority. He hasn’t found his special purpose yet. Corelyn, would be the future ruler and he gave her fits. Conall’s and Tidun’s first few meetings were dramatic and funny. We got a glimpse of their true characters and aura by the spontaneous meetings. They were each dragging a bit of personal baggage, that could be strengths or weaknesses depending on perspective. There were lots of dilemmas that keep the story interesting and fun characters that create surprising relationships. Nice cover art! Fun story, satisfying story, exciting story, nicely done. Just because you have supernatural power doesn’t mean you have your life together. Whale shifter Tidun is a bit lost as to what to do with his future. He’s not like his siblings, his path and interests aren’t set out for him.

Then he meets Conall. A sweet and talented human who’s the resident artist for the Circus. He’s such a lovely person, and the joy he takes from helping Tidun find his passion is pretty adorable.

Though their attraction is instant, they have a great journey in their relationship that started quite innocently, but oh man, once they got there….so good! Add in such fun and fascinating dates, and I was hooked.

This whole series has a great found family vibe to it, but this one especially with Conall’s best friend along for the ride.

Ok, so I've never read a book that had a whale shifter and was very curious how this would work with a human partner. Well, the author did a magical job of making it work, very interesting take without making it seem so outlandish (even in a magical world setting).
Conall and Tidun's relationship was a slow burn but the chemistry was sizzling, sparks flying everytime they got together. Conall is such a sweet, optimistic character and caught my attention since he was first introduced in season one of the BCC series. Tidun was more of a mystery, filled with self-doubt and unfulfilled life. But when Conoll enters his life, he begins to look at things with a different perspective, slowly realizing he was focusing on the wrong things. It also created many cute and adorable moments together with Conall trying to help Tidun find his passion.
This was a other great addition to the BCC world and can't wait for the next one!!

Act 2 of season 2 of our favorite paranormal circus brings us the top of the Wheel that is Ferris and the depths of the Sea to the world of whale. When our favorite human ferris wheel operator/character artist gets run into by a would-be thief you won't believe what is in the briefcase or why. When you are the family screw up all you want is not to be, but when you are from a world that doesn't really like or trust humans what do you do when you fall for one? Can they be more then a short fling or can they be the real fated mated love? When you come through with an idea that saves your oldest sister and her chance at the same and also saves the kingdom do you prove you have indeed got everything together and can it be really with the help of a human and some other supernaturals? I loved this episode and am happy for these two very different very loveable MCs. Come run away with us and join Black Cat Circus....keep an eye out for Peanut.

Spice:🌶🌶

Slow burn at its finest!

Conall was such an adorable character, I spent most of the book just wanting to pinch his cheeks! He is just the sweetest, but you could definitely tell that boy needed it bad!
Tidun had so much familial pressure on him and it really did a number on his mental health and self worth. It broke my heart every time he put himself down.
The two of them together was just chef kiss perfect and their story reminded me of Savage Garden’s I Knew I Loved You!

This was definitely a slow burn with constant teasing of spice and I was here for it. When it got to the spicy scenes, I was almost begging for them to just do it!

I love the world these authors have created with Black Cat Circus and will continue to visit this world often!

Very quick, but very fluffy!

You could definitely tell there needed to be a bit *more* here and there, but for it being kept short and sweet, it was more than enough for a cute story to love.

The characters were great, the story was entertaining, and it felt like a comfort read. It was simple in the best ways, and straight to a HEA without miscommunication or TAA. That will always be the best.

The editing was a little lacking, but not the worst. Most of it was a me thing, because I’m weird with over usage of the same word in a sentence, so it’s not like I’m complaining or knocking off the rating for it. It’s just an observation, really. It makes me wonder if that’s just something editors don’t do anymore? Or, like, charge extra for? Idk. I might not be doing my own job right…

4.5/5. I’m still neck-deep in my fluff reads need. This fit the bill perfectly.

Round two of the BCC Pearl of Fate series, and, again, a great story!
Conall and Tidun are so sweet together, I loved them!
I think I have a kind of soft spot for Conall, since he’s so young, sweet and dreaming about his first love. And, of course, he doesn’t get disappointed.
He finds his HEA with Tidun, a sperm whale shifter completely different from him, and a little bit “bored” of his life. In fact, Tidun has always had everything he wanted since he belongs to the royal family of his world. Everything, except the love and acceptance that, for the first time, he receives from Conall.
Both this men find their balance together and start living the life they deserve, surrounded by all the BCC family.
I absolutely loved all this!

This is a very sweet, low angst, fated mates romance with two likeable characters. Conall and Tidun are pretty perfect for each other and had good chemistry. I enjoyed them getting to know each other and the world building is great. Even though it's a shared world this worked fine as a standalone. I am curious enough about the circus and some of the secondary characters to check out other books too though! They had a really lovely HEA and I'm pleased that things with the other important secondary characters ended happily as well. Overall, a good mm romance that I'd recommend if you like this genre.

Part of the multi-author Black Cat Circus series, this book hooked me from the first page to the happy ending. Conall is a human among the mostly paranormal members of the circus and longs to find a partner, as a lot of them have. When he meets Tidun, they are instantly attracted to each other, and the story follows their beautiful slow-burn relationship as they get to know each other and discover they are mates.
This was a sweet, age-gap, no-angst story with heat and great world-building that was a terrific read, and I highly recommend it.

I thought at first the shell that August found in book one was sinister, but it got him together with his mate. In book two the shell comes to Conall who meets Tidun, a sperm whale shifter. It's instant attraction, though neither realize the other is their fated mate.
Tidun's romance of Conall is rather sweet. Conall is a virgin and Tidun takes it slow. Their chemistry in and out of the bedroom is combustible. The secondaries are fun, Tidun's sister is loving, but pushy.
Really well paced. A quick, enjoyable read. Just what you'd expect from this wonderful author.

Conall doesn't do oceans in any way but he was drawing by it and saw a whale in all it's splendor. Tidun is a whale shifter who knows Conall is someone special the minute he sees him. He realizes how special the Black Cat Circus is. Conall is innocent and dazzled by Tidun and falls quickly for the gorgeous guy. Tidun was a player but recognizes Conall as his one. This is a sweet story with no angst and all the magic of the Black Cat Circus. It's light and fluffy and full of good feelings. I received a copy of this book and this is my voluntary opinion.

This book was sweet and fun but it was as much a slow burn as a firecracker in a campfire. 😂 I really loved getting to properly meet Conall after getting glimpses at him in the BCC books. He was a very likable character and he won me over quickly. I didn't really feel as much of a connection to Tidun, however, and everything happened so fast between the two that their chemistry felt a little lacking. The beginning of the story was a little slow with a lot crammed into the last quarter or so of the book. They went from "fated mates are super rare" to "And you get a fated mate! And you get a fated mate!" But I did like that the general flow of the story moved quickly and held my interest.

Overall, the story was fun and added well to the already established BCC world. I can't wait to see where the circus takes us next!

This was another great addition to this multi author second series of the Black cat circus and this was Conall’s story and what a sweet romantic story it was, I think him and Tidum were great together and I loved how the author brought the circus world and the undersea world together and we got three fated mate pairings in this story which was great. Can’t wait for the next story in this series. Highly recommend this book and series and also the first series as well.

I absolutely loved this sweet romance!! After reading the first 4 books in the Black Cat Circus I was soooo excited to jump back in AND to get sweet, talkative and fun Conall's book!!! These two have instant chemistry and they complete each other so well, both needing to feel valued, important and they both help each other grow and become their BEST self!!! Just an all-around great read!!

3.5 stars. Interesting addition to an outstanding series. I think Conall has been in every book so it's nice that he finally found someone. A sperm whale shifter is very unexpected. I would have liked more details of the characters under the sea, the way Tidun transported them and the markets were unusual and I would have loved more.
