The small town of Kissing Springs never disappoints in giving the reader lots of steamy adventure and couples that inevitably fall in love no matter how hard they fight it or what obstacles are in their way. Zee Irwin again takes us to the sweet little town of Kissing Springs in this book where we meet Jayne Harland who has had a crush on her brother’s best friend since high school, Andrew Stockey. The book begins with Jayne preparing herself to interview Andrew as one of the new strippers at the Hot Derby Nights All-Male Revue and it will be an “un”dress performing interview. Andrew has secretly been attracted to Jayne too but a threat from her brother warned him she was off-limits to him, so Andrew has avoided Jayne since he’s been back from the Army. He has no idea she’s interviewing him and when he sees her all grownup he knows he’s in trouble yet he has a major responsibility to his family right now and no time for anything but work. Andrew does get the job and his popularity as a dancer brings him much unwanted attention and after rescuing Jayne from the unwanted attention of an ex, he comes up with a plan. He asks Jayne to be his fake girlfriend. She, just like all romance readers know, fakes often turn into real so she agrees but can her heart take it if it doesn’t? This is a fun, flirty friends to lovers romance where the couple run into a few problems but on the most part just feels right all the time with Andrew doing the right things at the right time and Jayne being the flirt most of the time. Zee Irwin’s writing style has a easy flow and makes you feel as you’re in the small town witnessing it all firsthand with scenes that keep you embedded in the story just waiting to see what will happen next. Who needs the “old bitties” when we have Zee Irwin to tell us everything that goes on in Kissing Springs?

Such a wonderful read! Jayne has been crushing on her brother's best friend Andrew since high school but he never seemed to notice her. Now she's all grown up and things are changing. The chemistry between her a Andrew is off the charts. Can Jayne believe that finally some dreams come true or will her heart be broken again? Does Andrew forget his best friend's warning and be with Jayne or does he distance himself from her? Would they both acknowledge what's in their hearts despite any opposition to their relationship? Jayne Harland has crushed on Andrew Stockey since she was a pre-teen. He's her older brother's best friend and never paid any attention to her except for a kiss on her graduation night. Afterwards, he couldn't get out of the house fast enough.

Jayne had been rather hurt when he never seemed to notice her after their kiss. She never knew that her brother, Nate, saw that graduation kiss and he made it abundantly clear to Andrew that she was off limits.

Now he's back from the Army and is working for Kissing Springs Hot Derby Nights All-Male Revue. He needed the better paying job to help support his mother and his 3 younger brothers. His mother is a hard worker with rotten taste in men. Both his father and stepfather were terrible and left her and the boys after taking anything of worth with them on their way out of town. He doesn't have time for a woman. But as his popularity grows, so does the interest and attention of the ladies in town. It's getting to be too much for him, so he asks Jayne to pretend to be his girlfriend. Problem is Jayne doesn't want pretend. Jayne wants him!

Jayne hopes their fake relationship will become a true love. She loves him. But could he ever love her? Just as it seemed as if their relationship was becoming more than something fake, his ex-stepfather returned, and Andrew became MIA.

Andrew and Jayne are great. She is so lovely and he is so loyal and strong. And they’re even better together. The side characters are funny and I always love the setting. Kissing Springs sounds like a lovely place to live.
