About the authors
I’m TR Cameron, Urban Fantasy and Science Fiction author. I’ve been an avid consumer of the genres since I was six, I think, when I broke the seal on my Dad’s copies of the Asimov Foundation books. Shortly after, it was Dragonlance and Drizzt. It’s been all downhill since then.
I have a day job that I love most days, and writing is pretty much my only consistent hobby. When I find time that’s not already filled with my wife, my daughter, my writing, my work, or dodging the affections of our clowder of cats, you can find me playing video games (currently Cyberpunk 2077, Avengers, and Witcher 3), watching things (Marvel movies, The Expanse, Picard), playing board games, or, naturally, reading.
My favorite authors in Sci-Fi are David Weber, Jean Johnson, John Scalzi, CJ Cherryh, and the giants: Asimov, Pohl, Bear, Heinlein, etc. I read a lot in other genres too, and am a big fan of Matthew Woodring Stover, Michael Anderle, Jim Butcher, and I could go on and on and on. If I had to choose one favorite, though, it would be Stephen R. Donaldson, whose Thomas Covenant series was transformative for me.
Probably my pie-in-the-sky dream for my writing career is that someone would make a movie or television show of my books and I could be a part of the production. Sure, unlikely, but a clowder-dodger can dream, right? My more practical dream is that I can keep writing and both entertaining and connecting with my readers for years and years to come.

Michael Anderle (ok, weird talking about myself in the 3rd person) (1967-Hopefully a long time from NOW) was born in Houston, Tx. A very curious child, he got into trouble - a lot. What to do with an inquisitive mind when he was grounded? Read!
Ok, done with all of that 3rd person stuff.
In the first 20 years, I mostly read Science Fiction and Fantasy. In the last 10 years I have enjoyed Urban Fantasy and Military Fiction. With this background, I've been blessed with creating The Kurtherian Gambit series, a well-selling, and fan loved, collection of stories.
The fans have propelled these stories beyond my wildest imagination and they should get all of the credit for sharing with friends, family and occasionally the random person on the street. They are fantastic!

As an aside, this book gave me the best laugh I’ve had in a long time. Reading last night and listening to Classical music. As Aisling and Mia broke into the Army Base, Ride of the Valkyries started playing. For those not familiar with that piece of music, the Valkyries were fierce warrior women. Still smiling as I write this.
But who knows, right?
I loved the fact that Aisling finally brought her coworkers to meet Grash (the blacksmith).
Enjoy!
They continue to investigate the people trying to take control. There is interesting characters lots of action, misdirection, and violence leading to the conclusion.
I would recommend this series and various authors to readers of futuristic military action novels. 2024
Seriously, though, this book was absolutely stunning. Cameron’s writing style is simple and straightforward. It’s not great literature, nor will it likely win any Pulitzers, probably, but that really doesn’t matter. HIS gift lies in the way in which he sets his scenes and his manner of describing both the setting and events that brings the reader, front and center, and directly present into the events of the story. No other writer I’ve read, really does this in the way that he can.
For the past several “episodes“ of the series, Cameron has been getting darker and darker, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it because it is a side of his writing that I have not seen before. it turns out, he doesn’t really well. But this book doesn’t so much ignore. The darkness has build upon it and WHOA does he ever build!
Unlike the federal agents of Magic series (which I loved!) Wow, this book is very much nonstop action, The characters aren’t lost behind the action. Everything Cameron has learned over the past several years, has only served to make his writing so much more enjoyable! All the strong points of all of the previous series resonate as elements of this one. And, to date, not a one of the previous flaws has shown up. He’s just figured out new ways to make new mistakes(not that I found any, but I do like to tease him).
You’re gonna love this one. My only curiosity, so far? Those federal agents of magic whom I mentioned earlier haven’t shown up in this series yet. And I can’t quite figure out how he might manage to make that happen, but I’m betting he does at some point even if there’s only one book left.
Lots of action. Quick read. If you have not read the previous 6 books, it will make less sense. Eagerly awaiting the next book!

This was a really fast -paced read, and full of action, battles, and daring escapes - that very last one had me holding my breath so long, that I started to feel dizzy, before realising what I was doing! Lol
As usual TRC wrote his characters so very well - in fact, to the point that, despite them being the 'baddies', I couldn't help but like Jameson, Charlotte, and even Kali - as cold-blooded and she can be - even despite their willingness to drop Dragonfly, and especially Aisling, right into the worst trouble!
But, then, I realised that this actually shows just how brilliantly well that TR Cameron, Martha Carr, and Michael Anderle, really DO make their characters, with them feeling just as as three dimensional, as Humanity actually is!
The Dragoneye plot has been fun to read, and full of excitement, and I know that more is to come, because Dragonfly still hasn't gathered up all of them but, sadly, the next book I'll be reading: 'From Dragonfly With Love', is the final book to the series.
On a side note, I found the use of the Bond Film Titles, suitably changed, for the Dragonfly image, both very funny, and wonderfully suited to these books!.
Reading TRC's Authors' Notes, I can understand why he chose to finish the series at book eight, but I'll not complain, as there's still even more of his books, in other series, to read - I believe the next series is called: 'Nomad Witch', with Book One being: ' Witch on Wheels'.
I'm not quite sure whether I'll be going straight on to that, as yet, as I need to check which books I've actually still got to read, within the Oriceran Universe, but I suspect that there's not many more of them left, sadly.
But, until then, I'm going to set up the final book in this series onto my Kindle, then grab some sleep because, as usual, it's now silly o'clock in the morning - or after 4 am to normal people!
But, tomorrow/today, I'll start reading it!
Then, once I've finished, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I thought about it!
