GREAT end to the trilogy! Worth the wait!
This is NOT a standalone. Make sure to read books 1&2 first. With that said, MY BABIESSSSS. Oh my gods, I missed them so much. And this one was a doozy. The suspense got me for sure, and mixed with Parker's anxiety, I was hooked. I've admittedly been reading really slowly lately, and I feel like I just couldn't put this down.-apocalypse-suspense-anxiety rep-shifter romance-monstery sex-size difference-hurt/comfortI have to say, I now really want a follow up or new series with Jacob. Because... Keira always does this to me.

Okay, this review will be a disaster because I always get so excited finishing books that I babble.
Trust me when I say that this book is Effing. Amazing. It ties everything up so perfectly and although it leaves room for perhaps another book, but not with these two.

Their story is one of heartache, pain, trauma (JESUS do these two go through it), and love. The way Parker wholeheartedly accepts and loves Adam and everything that he is, is embraced fully in this one. The island has been debating on opening up a compound on land as island life is never safe, and when a ship leaves with one of their own on it after suspicious circumstances, Parker and Adam rush after to help bring them back.

I thought I had this figured out when Sean first stepped on the scene but holy. HOLY KEIRA. I did NOT see that coming!! As they finally arrive at the compound, they don't find their missing friends and instead find something SO much more worse. IT GETS BONKERS (in a good way!)

I honestly can't say much more because I will 100% give everything away but OH MY GOD. This was so worth the wait. SO. Worth. It. I'm just so devastated because this was the END. UGH.

This was an absolutely fantastic ending for Adam and Parker. All the tension and suspense had me on the edge of my seat and glued to my tablet. It's almost 5 a.m. and I regret nothing 😂. This entire trilogy was so freaking good and really wouldn't mind another visit to Salvation.

Third book in this post apocalyptic romance. It was a long wait for this one and it was good. Not great but good. I love Adam and Parker, but Adam is a great character.
Since it was post apocalyptic, I was hoping for more action and adventure this third book didn’t have much of that, but it was still enjoyable . Very very little zombie action.
I don’t think they’re supposed to be another book. The ending of this one felt finished. I did like this trilogy very much.

I am so thankful this author decided to write this story for us! Not a standalone, start with Kick at the Darkness.

Post apocalyptic
Gay/mm romance
Werewolves
Zombies
Ott bad guy
Graphic intimacy
HEA

Yes, there is one scene of f*sting but I’m moving past my aversions, because I love these characters.

The trust and love Adam and Park have for one another is beautiful to read. I love their communication, their banter, will forever remember them singing Dolly and Kenny while sailing together.

“Dolly was quite a prophet. Sailing away to another world. Boy, do I relate to that.”

I would happily keep reading stories set in this universe hint hint Keira!

Read the bonus story, it’s worth it. You’ll get a tiny taste of something that was a whispered fantasy in this book. 😉 Your d*rty romantic little heart will thank you.

Ugh I love this series so much. Saw the book was releasing and read the 2 other books (both amazing) within 2 weeks. I really liked how the loose ends get tied up. I very much enjoyed reading Parker and Adam’s love story. Most of the book is not as action filled as the 1st book per se, but towards the end it gets wild (in a good way). While I liked Jacob, he annoyed me lol. If you are into fantasy based themes with sexual themes, this is for you. This book touches on love and loss, trauma, reconciliation, and the lengths people will go when in survival mode. And as promised, a happy ending.

I really love that the author time jumped for this book. Besides seeing Adam and Parker growing together, we get to see Jacob and Lilly grow up. We see the world evolving little by little.
The end is so satisfying.

The Kick at the Darkness series has caused me quite a bit of anxiety as Parker and Adam fought to survive terrifying obstacles over and over again in the apocalyptic world created by Keira Andrews. When I learned that book 3 was going to be published and available January 2024 I went back and re-read the first two books in the series. Book 2 left off with Adam and Parker in a seemingly safe situation with ‘found family’ and new friends on Salvation Island. And book 3 starts out with happy times a couple of years later. But Keira Andrews has plans that require even more bravery in order to survive. Without giving away any spoilers, I can honestly recommend the entire series. Book 3 is an awesome and anxiety causing blood pressure elevating read.

I enjoyed this series. The characters felt real and definitely reacted in ways that felt genuine. I'll check out more by this author.

A satisfying ending to the series. It was action packed like the earlier books. It kept me entertained the whole way through, while knowing there had to be a HEA because romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the wait!

I first read book 1&2 when they came out and was eagerly awaiting book 3, then a global pandemic happened and totally understand why Keira Andrew’s wasn’t able write it.
Once I knew book 3 had a release date, I re-read first two and reminded me why I love these books.
Book 3 is certainly worth the wait and I love how much Parker and Adam mean to each other.
Loved the storyline and who you could trust.
Definitely a trilogy worth reading and falling in love to.

I considered stopping reading it because I couldn’t cope with the tension. I laughed, cried and cried and got angry continually wanting to hug or kill people, different people. An amazing skilfully written book again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fitting end to this trilogy

This book packed a punch for me, I think because human nature was the biggest challenge instead of zombies. I was tense and anxious for everything to turn out right and wanted to hug and scold most of the characters at some point, lol.

Without giving away too many spoilers, I was happy with how it turned out. Some people did make dumb mistakes, but they learned their lessons and/or worked on fixing them. It definitely took a while to figure out who could be trusted, and there were some messed up people doing messed up things!

It was nice to see how true Parker and Adam stayed to one another through everything. It makes me happy when goodness triumphs over evil, in big and little ways. This ending gave me a very satisfied feeling while still staying true to the created world.

I received an ARC from GRR. This is my honest review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gripping, ridiculously sweet and still a bit dark.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 21, 2024
A fantastic end to the series that had me screaming, crying, laughing and fallung more in love than ever.

This book was filled with tension, joy and a few heartbreaking moments. I absolutely could not stop reading this one. So many points I was scared that things would go to hell in a handbasket and stay there. Luckily they went bad and dark but we got a great ending along with a few things I honestly never expected.

And those unexpected things were so much more than I could have hoped for. Their journey into the dark and dangerous once more brought about more mystery and wonderful moments than I could have possibly hoped for.

I went through a million emotions with Parker and Adam's furthering story and I couldn't have asked for a better ending to their time together. Love, friendship and unexpected twists filled this book and i enjoyed it completely, even when i got furious over some characters and their actions whether real or perceived or cried at the moments of pure fear and worry.

The love that these two felt together was so strong and achingly sweet. The creepiness of the creepers was wonderful though less prevelant than the two previous ones. And the things I really hoped might be completely impossible turned out to be the best thing that happened in this book.

Yet another one I just couldn't put down and one I already can't wait to read again. I loved this series so so much and this was a great ending for almost all the characters. I hope one day there might be a story for Sean too. Someone i hated but grew to love and I'm so glad Jacob got a happy ending alongside Parker and Adam.
